Economy / Gambling discussion / Premier League has asked clubs to voluntarily end Gambling deals
on: July 05, 2022, 03:33:35 AM
I believe that most of you will know by now that some well known casino’s here are seen on premier league club shirts, but it looks like that they’ll have to look elsewhere to spend their marketing budget as premier league has asked clubs to take a voluntary ban on gambling sites that are seen on their shirts. Furthermore the clubs have been given up to 2024 - 2025 to end such deals under this voluntary ban, however it’s yet not official but if 14 clubs accept it then it’ll be applicable with immediate effect, so what are your thoughts on this is the rule bit too harsh or it’s justified?.

Economy / Service Discussion / Applying for a lower member rank - read what popular managers say.
on: January 26, 2021, 12:29:47 PM
There’s a lot of debate about whether a high ranking member can apply for a lower position in a signature campaign or he/she can’t, and I know responses of two popular managers, and as and when I find more managers views I’ll add them. This shall stop campaign participants from spamming the signature campaign thread, cause it’s freaking annoying to read posts from users who have no control over who’s gonna be selected. PS: if other campaign managers want to share their views post below, and I’ll add them to the op. If a Legendary wants to apply, it it allowed. They will sit in the member rank position until they are eligible to be moved up. That means, everyone who is eligible to rank up moves up ahead of the last person that joined. I also will choose the best candidate for the position. Looking at who earns merits more often, who posts in more boards, who posts in the gambling section, who has a good reputation, who stays out of most of the discussion boards, and lastly who isn't an asshat on the forum
As seen above yahoo62278 is okay with higher members applying for lower ranks for the campaigns that he manages. Thank you all for the applications! It is tempting to hire someone with a higher rank but I prefer to stay true to the positions and to not get confused about moving members up (essentially don't want to create a queue).
Hhampuz has stated he doesn’t accept higher ranking members for lower ranking positions for the campaigns he manages. "Usually I allow to apply hire rank participants on my campaign, but there are some standard (of my own). If there are no appropriate participants for the desired ranks, then I accept from hire ranks candidates. Doesn't matter if a high reputed and high earned merit users apply there, I will not accept them if I feel there is an appropriate candidate for the desired rank who meets the campaign requirements. Because, otherwise low ranks members wouldn't join in the campaign since there are lots of high-rank members ready to take a spot from lower ranks."
Hope this helps all who’re keen to participate in signature campaigns, and saves signature managers time too.

Other / Politics & Society / Is it time to uninstall WhatsApp?
on: January 06, 2021, 03:24:35 PM
I’m going to keep this really short because they broke their promise about sharing our data with Facebook, and I don’t know about you’ll, but I’m not at all comfortable with the way they broke their promise. So the question remains will you uninstall WhatsApp or continue to use it despite your data being openly shared with Facebook. There has also been a lot of inaccurate and careless information circulating about what our future partnership would mean for WhatsApp users’ data and privacy. I’d like to set the record straight […]
Respect for your privacy is coded into our DNA, and we built WhatsApp around the goal of knowing as little about you as possible […] If partnering with Facebook meant that we had to change our values, we wouldn’t have done it. Instead, we are forming a partnership that would allow us to continue operating independently and autonomously. Our fundamental values and beliefs will not change. Our principles will not change.
WhatsApp users are receiving an in-app notice today regarding the service’s new terms and privacy policy. The notice, as you can see in the attached screenshot, talks about three key updates that affect how WhatsApp processes your data, how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats, and how WhatsApp will soon partner with Facebook to offer deeper integrations across all of the latter’s products. It further reveals that these changes will go into effect on February 8th, and users will have no choice but to accept these changes if they wish to continue using WhatsApp

Economy / Economics / JP Morgan takes a different stand than Wall Street - US Q1 GDP will decline.
on: November 21, 2020, 10:09:59 AM
I don’t know about you’ll but I was expecting US Q1 GDP to rise marginally, and even Wall Street was sharing a similar sentiment that Q1 GDP will bounce upwards, but JP Morgan has sensationally claimed that US Q1 GDP will not be rising upwards. It’s also pertinent to note that by taking such a stance, they have become the first bank which has openly suggested that US Q1 GDP will be weak, and this is not a news that Americans would like to hear. Lastly anyone here feels that their prediction could go wrong?, because I’m sincerely wishing it does go wrong. JPMorgan economists now see an economic contraction in the first quarter due to the spreading coronavirus and related restrictions being imposed by states and cities.
The new forecast is a departure from Wall Street’s widely held view that the first quarter would be positive, with an improving economy throughout 2021.

Other / Politics & Society / Trump’s dangerous last stand to retain power!!!
on: November 21, 2020, 07:23:57 AM
I’m stunned to read that Trump apparently wants Republican battleground states to ignore the will of the people, and cast their electoral votes in his favour, and if this happens then I believe it’ll be the end of the democracy in America (my personal opinion). However the good news is that the states are not in favour of his proposal at least that’s what they’re saying to the media, but what if during voting they decide to cast their votes in Trump's favour won’t it create chaos in America?. What do you’ll think will happen if the states bend to his will, will it be the end of America’s democracy?. Economy / Economics / Will Biden Tax Policy help or hurt Americans?
on: November 19, 2020, 01:19:27 PM
I believe that we all know what Biden’s tax policy is going to be, as he had clearly advocated this in the run up to the elections, and now I believe is the right time to discuss what impact will it bring for Americans. 1) This policy plans to target those who earn $400,000 in wages, and levy an additional 12.4% tax on their existing tax structure. 2) Those who earn $125,000 a year will see lots of benefits from this policy: Lower-income Americans, by contrast, may see benefits through an expanded Earned Income Tax Credit, an expanded Child Tax Credit, and a proposal to institute free college for families that make less than $125,000 a year, Prisinzano said.
Lastly in such a pandemic year do you’ll feel that he’s right to levy additional tax on the wealthy as they’re already reeling due to covid? or do you’ll feel that he’ll relax his tax policies for a while.
