Bitcoin’s ecosystem, in addition to its exchange rate and market capitalization, had quite a tumultuous March due to escalating hostilities between proponents and developers of the 'Segregated Witness’ and ‘Emergent Consensus’ upgrade proposals. However, the temporary instability has not dissuaded digital currency entrepreneurs from continuing to invest capital in Bitcoin ATMs (BTMs). http://www.razor-forex.com/2017/04/global-bitcoin-atm-infrastructure-grows.html

The hacker who stole 120k Bitcoin from Hong Kong-based exchange Bitfinex on August 2nd of 2016, has continued moving a portion of their loot across the Bitcoin network this month. This is the hacker’s first attempt at neutralizing the ability of professional blockchain forensics firms and law enforcement agencies to track the stolen coins. While the hacker’s first move on Jan. 26, 2017, was Tweeted by Bitfinex and received plenty of coverage from many financial news outlets, maneuvers over the past few days have gone mostly unreported. http://www.razor-forex.com/2017/02/bitfinex-hacker-moving-stolen-bitcoin.html

You get to contribute to your favorite Boinc science project with your Android smartphone and Katiee's GRC pool (pool.gridcoin.co) does the payments every 1-2 weeks. Any takers?

The default Boinc for Android only allows three account managers and doesn't allow the addition of custom managers, which is needed for Gridcoin pool mining with your Android phone. However, the Boinc app can be modified using the free Android APK Editor app, which is what I used to insert the pool.gridcoin.co URL in the default manager options. If you don't want to do the setup yourself you can just download the app file here: http://www.filedropper.com/gen_1Step 1: Download Boinc and Android APK Editor from Google play. Step 2: Open up APK Editor and open the Boinc app using the "Select APK from app" option. Step 3: Select the "Full Edit" option. Step 4: Select the "Files" tab from the options bellow. Step 5: Select the "Values" option. Step 6: Select the "Arrays.xml" option. Step 7: Once you enter the arrays file, you can just swap one of the existing manager urls with the Gridcoin pool one between the <item> </item> tags. Step 8: Once the modification is complete, click the save button and install the new Boinc version on your Android. The new version should now allow you to use the Gridcoin pool as your manager and you can add projects from within the pool interface when logged in. image host

Despite good-faith efforts made by Bitfinex management to restore investor confidence, volumes on the exchange are currently a small fraction of what they were prior to the monumental theft. Data from BitcoinCharts.com shows the drastic drop in volume on the Bitfinex BTC/USD pair after the hack: http://www.razor-forex.com/2016/09/digital-currency-exchange-bitfinex.html

About Gridcoin:Gridcoin (Ticker: GRC) is a decentralized, open source math-based digital asset (cryptocurrency), kind of like Bitcoin, but also very different. Gridcoin was the first digital currency that delivered a working algorithm that equally rewards BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) scientific work. Gridcoin came into existence in 2013. Since then, team Gridcoin has become the top Boinc team in the entire world, doing close to 200,000,000 credits in daily scientific work, spread out over 30+ Boinc projects: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-5/team/list/16/0#1How does Gridcoin actually work? This video by RTMoney describes several mining algorithms and how Gridcoin operates: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSg2Dt61DQsWhat is the purpose of this campaign? The purpose of this Thunderclap campaign is to raise awareness about BOINC scientific computing and digital currencies like Gridcoin, which gives volunteers and newcomers a monetary incentive to contribute to science with hardware at their disposal. Boinc computing uses up sizable amounts of electricity on a monthly basis and generous volunteers across the world usually pay for this cost from their own pockets. Gridcoin provides a way for Boinc volunteers to recoup their monthly power costs and be part of a growing and exciting digital economy. You can join the Gridcoin Thunderclap campaign with your Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr account. The campaign needs to gather 100 supporters by September 24, which is 12 days away. Join today and let the world know about the importance of volunteer scientific computing and digital currencies like Gridcoin that support it. The widely-publicized Bitfinex heist, which is the second biggest Bitcoin exchange hack after MtGox in 2013, may have a short term negative impact on the way general public perceives the novel technology. However, the Bitcoin blockchain - the backbone of the digital currency - was never compromised and the network continues to function without a hitch. The same could not be said for the world’s financial system! Full article: http://razorsforex.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-impending-global-negative-interest.html
