Update your votes to reflect new information!
https://mobile.twitter.com/btcecom/status/891928666065707008 Given information as of 30th July, 2017, and what are your reasons? Taking into account Vinnik arrest, domain seizure, looming fines, coins moving around with no evidence right now as to who is in control, btc-e's history, etc.

I have a newly-made paper wallet, and want to practice sweeping it to ensure I have created the correct passphrase. If it is attempted to be swept in an app, and comes up empty, is the private key and passphrase out into the abyss or still safely in my head?
Thanks

Most of the coins on btc-e of course have massive high/low swings for today because of the price drop. Will things level out and slowly drive up or can we expect more volatility over the next few days?
I sold a bunch of ltc and I'm nervously awaiting an order to be filled to pick more up at $20. Unrealistic?

Between today and the rest of 2013, what will be the lowest point we see on Gox?

Weak-handed, pussy, n00b, amateur, speculating scum...dat's me!
I've been progressively selling off on the climb up, approx 1 coin per $100-200 climbed. Last bubble I held them all till the last minute then disaster struck and in the craziness of the lag and mania and ddosing and it being 3am where I am, I got out much lower than the top.
This time I'm going for slow and steady, being happy with my profits along the way. My plan of attack is to have sold all by the time we crash so I can put all my fiat into the new bottom and just sit and wait, rather than be a trigger-happy wreck.
So on this mini dump I did indeed shit myself and run to Gox and sell a couple of coins (yes, poo-change to some of you).
I have a couple left and they'll hopefully go before we hit the true top of this soapy sphere.

Ftc has been sitting at ~9-12 US cents for some time now. Will it only stay here or get worse?
Is there any possibility in the near or distant future for a comeback?

Assuming you play it safe and sell off a percentage of your coins as we rise, and assuming you have 10 coins, how many, if any would you sell right now at $350?
0? .5? 1? 2?
On the climb to 266 I was starting to get weary about when I should sell before the crash, but I let greed and insane optimism on the boards get in my way. Gox lag and hyper fear got in the way of my sell off and I ended up selling for a lot less than the high, even with price alarms set on my phone.
I'm not sure where to start getting careful this time though.

I was with Tradehill until it went bust and I got out, and since have been with Gox.
I have no intention of getting money out any time soon but I've seen a lot of doubt over Gox's future, particularly with the whole withdrawal fiascos (is anyone able to enlighten me any more on that btw?)
So in looking after my btc and cash over the long term, which exchange is looking the best? Bitstamp...?
I'm in Australia, so take that into account.
Thanks

I'm from Australia, and trade in USD on Gox for obvious reasons.
I was wondering, when the debt situation inevitably hits the fan and the value of USD possibly plummets, what should I do? Will that happen? Should I exchange money now?
What will happen to the USD in the future, and when could it happen?

Comment your crazy sub $100 / plus $200 figures.
Actually, maybe plus $200 isn't that crazy...is it? That's what the poll is for I guess!

Tell me if I'm doubling up on this topic.
I bought some ftc earlier this year- quite blindly really, with hopes that they might go the way of btc.
So they rose, then dropped, a lot. They now float at around 8c each and I have a tonne of worthless coins really.
It occurred to me yesterday, when reading something that described them as having been pump-and-dumped that I might be waiting on a lost cause.
Is ftc over? Are they doomed to fail? Or might they rise from the ashes in the future and not have been a lost cause?

I know this doesn't really belong here, so if it doesn't fly well and has to be removed by all means do so. I'm interested to know what the btctalk crowd has to say seeing as it does involve Gox though. I've currently got several hundred dollars worth of LTC, but I'm considering whether I should put in 1-2k more before it goes over to Gox and goes apeshit. Is this a fairly safe play? At worst I figure it never goes to Gox and I break even or lose a little, but if all goes ahead I should at least double my investment, if not make 5,6,7,8,9,10x in the first few days after IPO. Here's a suggested plan to pump the price up quickly from an apparently reputable poster. https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,4698.0.htmlI can afford to lose that amount of money, although obviously I'd prefer not. What's a good play?

Hia,
I'm currently doing a sociology assignment on Bitcoin and looking at how it has been presented conversely by different media outlets.
While I am obviously sifting through the hundreds of articles written myself, particularly post-crash, I was wondering if anybody who has or knows of a decent record of notable articles could kindly share them. Being the rarer form, I am looking more for the positive/upbeat articles to analyse in contrast to the abundance of sceptical/naive/apathetic views on the concept.
So once again, I'm not looking for anybody to do my work for me, rather point me in the direction of a nicely catalogued list if they know of any.
Many thanks.
