1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Question about yobit's free coins on: November 11, 2019, 09:49:00 PM
Since I've been in the cryptotalk campaign, I've been spending quite a bit of time on yobit and just for the hell of it have been claiming some of their free coins.  I fully realize that most of these are completely dead and that they can't be traded because there aren't any buy orders and can't be withdrawn because their wallets are always in maintenance mode.

My question is why can't I find out what half these coins or tokens even are?  There's one yobit is currently giving away named QUBIX, and I can't find any information on it whatsoever.  And that's not the only one.  I've checked coinmarketcap and coingecko, but there's nothing.  Does anyone know of any site that has information on coins that are long dead?

Thanks in advance for your help.  I know it's a waste of time claiming those free coins, but I have a bad habit of wasting my own time (lol).
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum wallet for staking on: October 27, 2019, 08:39:43 PM
I can't seem to find the answer to this question either on bitcointalk or elsewhere on the internet.

When Eth goes proof of stake, is there already in existence a designated wallet from which holders can stake it?  At the moment I'm holding my Eth in a hardware wallet but I'm sure I wouldn't be able to stake it from there.  Does anyone know about this and perhaps have a link, or is this something that is so far unknown?

I also can't find an answer to when the pos change is supposed to be made.  I saw a thread about this earlier but there was no link and my searches turn up old articles.  Thanks.

resolved, thank you notaek.
4  Other / Meta / Campaign thread suggestion on: September 01, 2017, 09:19:21 PM
I would like to suggest that signature campaign threads be locked once they're either
CFNP or ended completely.  I've seen a surge in people applying when the campaign
is clearly full, or ended, like this joker:

Username: Rifat403
Rank: Newbie
Post count: 21
Profile link:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1080976;sa=summary
BTC Address: 172EejYTLAQbEnU1eMudBcAHfjrgXQBt32

That was in the Soma campaign thread, which has been closed for a while.

People love to post that they received payment, and I've done it as well (I think).  I'd
like to suggest that this is unnecessary, since proof of payment can be verified on the
blockchain.  There's no reason I can see that users need to post when a campaign is
closed.  There are no waiting lists that I know of.  Things like ranking up and requests
can be done via PM with campaign managers.

What do you guys think?
5  Economy / Reputation / QTUM Censoring posts in self moderated ANN thread. on: January 20, 2017, 03:00:30 AM

BlackMambaPH asked me to delete this post.  I copied it from a cached page because after I refused, he deleted it in the self modded thread.  This coin and campaign is so scammy, it's ridiculous.   Not going to be a part of a campaign where one can't even say the following:

"So all the sig campaign participants have to post here once a week?  Smart.  Keeps you constantly bumped to the top.  I'm surprised that's allowed, but whatever.

Lots of advertising for this coin.  Lots of hype.  Hopefully it turns out better than some of the other massively hyped coins like Lsk and Waves.  They kind of died on the vine."

That's not even being critical.

Mods, I apologize if this is in the wrong section.   This speaks volumes about QTUM and its campaign manager.
