What is xel?

xel is an open-source project that aims to build the first decentralized supercomputer. xel has been developed over the last year or so and provides the infrastructure for a decentralized and distributed super computer, designed to carry out arbitrary tasks over the internet. In  this  context,  xel is  powered by a crypto currency (XEL) and provides a market-based mechanism to buy  and  sell computational  resources. Those  who need  computational  resources,  model  their  problem using xel’s programming language (xel PL) and broadcast it on the network, along with a certain amount of XEL coins. The xel miners are then motivated to offer their computational resources in exchange for a portion of those XEL coins. The size of their reward depends on the amount of work a miner has contributed in relation to the rest of the miners that have also participated in the task. Using XEL as the driving force, xel offers potential buyers a large parallel computation cluster composed of many CPUs and GPUs supplied by the miners.

4  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory uses 150GB diskspace - is that normal? on: May 08, 2017, 06:32:42 PM
Hi,

Armory gets stuck while syncing and uses the complete 150GB HD. I looked up which folder uses so much space and found .bitcoin/blocks to be 125GB.

Is that to be expected or did something went wrong and i have to resync?

6  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Auszahlung von Bitstamp -> Comdirect/Deutsche Bank nicht mehr möglich?! on: August 17, 2016, 12:36:25 PM
Hi,

soeben hat mich diese email erreicht:

Quote

We regret to inform you that your withdrawal request has been rejected.

Reason:
Bitstamp has learned that two EUR intermediary bank's Commerzbank and Deutsche bank have adopted an internal policy regarding Bitcoin-related transfer. These two intermediary banks no longer allow transfers related to Bitcoin.
We have therefore cancelled your withdrawal transfer.
Please request your future bank withdrawals in a different currency or to an alternate bank account held in your name with a SEPA member bank.

Was ist da los? Laut Twitter-account der Commerzbank ist so eine Regelung nicht bekannt.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTS] 32.000 LISK / batches of 500 each / ESCROW on: May 22, 2016, 01:23:51 PM

Hi,

i am selling some of my LISK. I am willing to split into batches of 500 LISK each and we are going to use the well reputed Ognasty as Escrow. (Fees are on me)

Price per LISK is 0.0025 BTC, so a batch of 500 will be 1.25 BTC.

As soon as the mainnet goes live Ognasty will transfer your LISK to an address you provide.

Answer in this thread or PM me if interested!

Cheers!

ImI

10  Bitcoin / Armory / How to send coins before Armory has synced? on: November 19, 2015, 11:38:20 PM

11  Economy / Speculation / The Halving will have a very similar effect as the Willy Bot on: November 03, 2015, 01:52:34 AM

Willy has been buying 10-20 Bitcoins every 5-10 minutes and therefore shifting the balance of supply and demand towards demand drastically.

https://willyreport.wordpress.com/2014/05/25/the-willy-report-proof-of-massive-fraudulent-trading-activity-at-mt-gox-and-how-it-has-affected-the-price-of-bitcoin/

To simplify lets take 20 Bitcoins every 10 minutes as average.

The Halving will subtract 12.5 Bitcoins every 10 minutes in average from the supply.

Comparing those two one can easily see the impact that the Halving will have on the price of Bitcoin, not as strong as Willy but very effective and completely legal.  Wink

12  Bitcoin / Armory / What disk space is needed with 0.93.2 ?? on: July 17, 2015, 12:58:19 PM

13  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Wie programmiert man sowas? on: January 03, 2015, 07:09:47 PM
Hi,

folgende Vorraussetzung:

15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Cointerra - Is there overclock-potential? on: March 30, 2014, 12:18:28 PM
Hi,

the KNCminers got overclocked pretty hard, work seamlessly and everybody is a happy camper now.

Shouldnt the Cointerra-Miners be overclockable also?

I am no tech-expert but i expect pretty much every miner to be overclockable to a certain amount.

Hi zusammen,

We kindly ask you to send us a high resolution image double page of your international passport and answer the following KYC questionnaire:

1. How did you learn about Bitcoin?
2. The purpose of trading on Bitstamp?
3. What is the origin of the deposited Bitcoins? If mining, please specify your hardware specifications and submit a receipt or an invoice for your mining equipment.
4. What are your future plans and activities planned on our exchange?
5. Do you plan more withdrawals in the future?
6. Which bank are you using? Please provide the complete address and SWIFT code.
7. What is the source of the funds which you are depositing to your Bitstamp account? Please provide any financial documentation which can confirm how the funds sent to your Bitstamp account were acquired.

We kindly ask you to submit your answers and documents in a reply to this ticket.

WTF?!

Soll ich denen jetzt jeden Altcointrade der letzten 5 Monate auflisten um den Nachweis der Bitcoins zu erbringen?

Jemand schonmal solche Nachfragen erhalten?

Gruss
