1  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / NECESSARY P2P SCAM AWARENESS KNOWLEDGE on: June 03, 2026, 11:49:25 AM
We work in the crypto market to make earns meet and have what to put into savings after a period of time. On the process of this, there is always some crooks who are willing to take those earnings of ours at the most crucial time, when crossing that bridge between the crypto world and our native currency; P2P. I outline some few things to put into consideration when using P2P to help reduce the rate of losses/falling into some traps set by scammers.

THEREFORE, always;

Verify Trading Score Rating and Trading Volume
As this may be neglected, it is very important to know the rating of a vendor before kick starting a trade. In every exchange, there is always the rating of every P2P adverts, and in some exchanges (like gate.io) they suspend some accounts for some reasons, which certainly will include fraudulent activities, suspicious trading behavior, misuse of payment methods etc. It is wise to take note of whom you are trading with to avoid falling prey of scam.

Escrow is Non-Negotiable
Using a P2P without an escrow will keep you at a high jump, leaving you on a narrow escape, cause the more delays made by either the buyer or seller keeps you highly tensed. Therefore, using any platform that does not support escrow services and not recognized crypto exchanges, my broda, run ohh. Above all, always make sure you confirm the amount has arrived into your account and possibly do a small transaction before releasing your coins. Being careful is for the safety of your funds.

Beware of Fake Proofs
This one is something we know very well. When I first heard that it is possible to receive/do fake alert, I doubted until it happened in my presence, then I knew the importance of confirming proof of payment from SMS alert and from the account balance, either checking through mobile app or through USSD Code for confirmation. No one will accuse you for confirming your balance before releasing your coins.

Avoid Anything Off-Platform Communication
I done hear plenty people way de talk of face-2-face crypto exchange, let’s talk on WhatsApp for the current transaction. This a method that is not accepted in the entire crypto community at all. This na the most risky and dangerous method of crypto exchange, cause you nor know who the person be, or waytin the person go fit do (physical exchange). This one risk fit reach the point of you losing all your crypto funds or your life at most. Then for other communication platforms, your chats no go fit de monitored by the exchange, therefore keeping you in a stranded situation if the person no make payment, urging you to release coin first. There is a reason why the crypto community is said to be decentralized.

Watch for Over payment & Refund Tricks
I never really experience this one before, but how you go tell me to refund you, say you make excess payment! E be like say the money too plenty, na make you send pass the requested amount. This particular warning na for mainly the seller, you as a seller, watch waytin you de press, cause when e done go, e no de come back.

Know Payment Method Risks
This now de go to sellers as well as buyers. Both parties de display account way de money de go into, confirming the authenticity of the account before sending de very important, cause when person say em no see alert and proof of payment de show say na same account for display, na you fit report dispute, otherwise, you are on your own oh.

Beware of Phishing & Impersonation
Always confirm your platform’s link before entering your login details, cause this na one risk way de rampant for the internet these days.

TINY SAFE TRADING ACTIONS

Activate all necessary codes/passwords for transactions within the exchange.
Some of the popular exchange way de render P2P services get different passcodes and pin to use take verify payments and even the use of fingerprint. This na for the safety of your funds.

Enable 2FA and/or email verification code on your trading accounts.

Keep records of all communications and transactions.
This one de vital for proof of payments/communication text, so that e go de easy to identify who de at fault/fraud.

Start with small trades when dealing with new traders and use high score rating/successful trade counts to make large transactions.

Trust your instincts — If your mind no de settled with that trade/add, close the trade and look for another one.

2  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Gate app sign up advert on: December 29, 2025, 07:02:07 PM
My people, I greet una complements of the season and as we done de approach the new year, e go bad if we enter scammers hand this period, na make me wan ask this question.

Few days back, I wan open my trading app, gate.io, to see how the market behaviour de go, na the app first show me a sign up notification add, and I de signed in before oh, so I think say my sign in done expire (as a normal thing), na I sign in. Earlier today, I say make I sign in again to the same app, the same add of signing up still show again. Is this normal because over the period I done de use this app, I never experience this kind thing.
So, is it that something de wrong somewhere or na so e de all round for the users of the app?

I go like hear una side.
3  Other / Meta / Same Casino running two campaigns? on: December 27, 2025, 10:46:47 PM
Based on observations and out of curiosity I would like to be enlightened why we are having one Casino running two Signature Campaigns and being managed by two different campaign managers?  I don't have any issues with any of these managers, just curious why the same Casino is running two Signature Campaign in the same forum?

4  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Bitcoin, Nigerians Tax Law come 2026 on: December 10, 2025, 10:10:57 PM
Bitcoin is a decentralised crypto asset, and a situation where Naija wants to implement Tax Law on Personal Income, Business Profit and Gains, where the gains have part talking about the profits made from digital investments.

A statement from a video said that when it comes to taking tax on crypto currency, the government has modalities on how to go around it, and this made me wonder, is it as traders or investors that they will be watching, will the taxes be taken from exchanges or wallets (which is not possible) cause if no one makes withdrawal to bank account, no one will know if there's profit made or any crypto related activities going on with such a person, and also, where the transaction description is highly viewed.

Will this Tax Law affect us more or less?
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Immune System of Freedom [Privacy] on: November 30, 2025, 09:53:19 PM
We have lived in a system of being controlled from generations to generations, never knowing true freedom, we give our time for paychecks and never questioned the system. Our freedom was never truly ours, privacy was not given to any one, because they know the power behind privacy when it is freely given to all.

Centralisation has ever ruled, but a shift to decentralised system has made a shipwreck to the existing system of ruling. Bitcoin became a game changer bringing in decentralised system, everyone was exposed to the Freedom behind Personal Privacy and this has made an increase in regulations, all to keep hold on control.

But Bitcoin has come to tell us that Privacy is the Immune System of Freedom.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin or Investors Fatigue? on: November 04, 2025, 03:54:15 PM
The month of October, also called Uptober showed a promising strength at the early days of the month, surfacing at the price of $126k as its new ATH recorded on 6th October, 2025. This ATH and the expectation of the price increase the month normally gives; made investors, traders and all crypto enthusiast caught off guard. Ever since, the market has continuously been on a downward price movement, and this has entered the month of November.

This makes me want to ask, is the market now facing fatigue after the disappointment of Uptober or the investors are now being cautious after the high rate of liquidation faced in the month of Uptober? And will November continue with this dip, giving room for the bear market to set in or a chance for altcoins to surface in this period?

It is recorded that BlackRock moved $383.9 million in Bitcoin to Coinbase Prime along with $122 million in Ethereum, of which did not show any effect in the market.

7  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / How to briefly describe a week hand. on: October 26, 2025, 04:23:50 PM
A weak hand can be see in different ways, but I will want to use a physical phenomena as a mode of description on this one, comparing it with Bitcoin.

Based on what I experienced today, it was a sunny day, and not long there was a weather change, and it was about raining. With a little shower, of which was not upto 1 minute. Before it started drizzling my neighbour went out for a quick take away of her undried clothes from the rain and seating down, just after taking them off the rope, the sun returned with even a higher strength and she started complaining....

Thinking about this, I coined it towards Bitcoin seeing new highs, with a little change in opposite direction, weak hands sells off their holdings to take out quick profit, not knowing the market is planning on taking a higher strength on momentum towards its upward direction, then goes out a quick sale, wanting to secure profit ending up missing the big move.

The clothes as Bitcoin
The rain as market deep
The Sun as market bull

10  Economy / Speculation / The August 1st Deadlines on: July 30, 2025, 11:21:28 PM
Different news going round the crypto community, of which those facing Bitcoin has more effect (either positive or negative) to the crypto market.

August 1st Deadlines, being the date which President Donald Trump will mark the continuation of the tariff, and he made a statement on Wednesday 30th July, 2025, that there will be no extension on the deadline. The tariff war had a great effect on the price of Bitcoin and the entire market before, will this be same thing? So far with all the news, Bitcoin has made a drop to around $116k, are we to expect more decline in price or we will be just fine?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is altcoins season here already? on: July 16, 2025, 08:50:27 PM
Is altcoins season here already as BTC is below it's ATH, and altcoins are still showing greenish moves in the market. Looking at the market dominance, it seems the altcoins are making moves to surface themselves, as ETH is moving high, with approach to $3.5k and other altcoins showing similar moves, even when Bitcoin hasn't gone above the $120k yet.

Is altcoins season here already or its too early to call what the market is showing altcoins season.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bitcoin drops in price, Alts still moving on: July 16, 2025, 08:32:40 PM
Bitcoin has created an ATH of $123k, and this has made a big change to the entire crypto market. Though, having reached this price mark, it has experienced some little price drop to around $117k - $119k, while ETH is trying approaching $3.5k and other altcoins are moving along with it.

What could be the cause of this? Is Bitcoin giving the spotlight for altcoin to shine already or there's something I'm not seeing.
13  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Which Sets of Workers Best Fits the Community on: July 08, 2025, 05:06:35 PM
As Nija people way we be, which people way una feel say go do well with these crypto forums way de pay in BTC, USD or other forms of payments? An office worker, way de go work early as 6:00am and return by 6:00pm in the evening, government worker way no get time of closing/resuming duties or business owners way de self employed with probably no workers attached and business owners with few workers.
14  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Good asset with little capital on: July 08, 2025, 01:37:37 PM
I buy one coin early this year, with just small money of around $5, which was because I felt like buying some few coins with my little holdings, amongst these coins I bought, meme coins where of higher prices thinking it will yield out something better in a short period (as sometimes it does). Sincerely, I forgot to check on my holds, and after two months, I went to check my assets, I found out that my total of $25 worth of assets has yielded profit beyond what I expected. The $5 investment turned my portfolio to approach a whooping $50, of which the memecoins where not yielding anything (but facing decline in price).

Have you ever felt so unhappy (though happy) seeing your little investment yielding out good profit and kinda regretting not having used a bigger capital at the very start?
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Reaction to Economic Effect. on: July 02, 2025, 09:33:56 PM
Bitcoin got a shock, breaking below the price of $100k, due to the involvement of the United States in the ongoing Israel and Iran war. Since this war before the involvement of US, the price has not gotten to the highs of $109k, rather has been around the $107k - $108k, but this time has gone above reaching $109k plus.

So, this makes me ask, do you think that in the long run, Bitcoin will only respond to stimuli of any fundamental effect because it happened and swiftly gain it's correction and move on or there'll be something else that might be?

Will like to hear your thoughts.
16  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / High Price with Jaiz Bank users on: June 28, 2025, 06:34:59 PM
This is a question I asked in the ATT forum, but I am bringing it here as this forum has more users and probably users who makes use of this platform I want to enquire on.

What bank account do you use in your P2P trading platforms of which you receive and send your fiat. I most often make use of Bybit, while I use Gate on some cases.

My purpose of asking this question is this Jaiz Bank that is often used in Bybit P2P, though there are other accounts that are used there, but the Jaiz Bank users are of high price rating. Are there some special features in the Jaiz banking app or it is a means of patronising the Jaiz Bank to gain popularity Huh Huh?

Will like to hear your thoughts on this, thanks.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why Does the World Economy Affect the Crypto Market? on: June 24, 2025, 08:21:07 AM
It is true that the crypto market is being affected by the world's economy in either positive or negative ways. But how did this come into existence? As at 5 - 6 years back, Bitcoin and crypto currencies has been seen with negative eye sights, several countries placing ban on its use, and Bitcoin not having much/any effect from the world news/economic situation. But ever since the introduction of taking Bitcoin and some altcoins into reserve, the effect of the world economy started affecting the price of Bitcoin and the crypto market at large, though, the market easily recovers from this downsides.

The effect of whales where ones in control of price manipulation, then we started seeing the entrance of big investors and wealthy business persons, and now countries and government leaders coming into this space. To my observations, the involvement of the governmental bodies has lead to the effect of economic crisis affecting the price of Bitcoin/crypto assets. Is this suppose to be? As Bitcoin is not managed, controlled or in charge by anybody?

So, this pushes me to ask, does the involvement of the world government have more positive effect to the crypto market than negative?

I stand to be corrected in any area where I am wrong.
18  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / When did you join the forum. on: May 26, 2025, 09:00:11 PM
I have been a member of this forum for quite a long time, but due to some real life challenges, it became difficult to keep up with forum related discussions and activities for years. Over the years of the existence of this forum, lots of things has changed and the forum has also become populated and rules became tighter, of which I am almost feeling like a new comer.

So, this makes me wanna ask, do you feel you joined the forum at the early stage (when the rules where friendly), right time or somehow late hours (as at now).
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How can Blockchain Scalability be improved? on: May 20, 2025, 05:23:21 AM
ETH made a significant improvement in its Pectra Upgrade, numbered 16th, on its upgrade/update list (I used ETH as it is the number one altcoin). This upgrade helped in different categories, on the part of trx fees and price increment made it remarkable. The crypto industry has been getting bigger until now, and up in the future, we have more people who will venture into this ecosystem. What solution can be made to improve Blockchain scalability as the crypto community will be flooded with more crypto enthusiasts and investors in the community?

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What's your view on CEX/DEX Exchange in the long run? on: May 18, 2025, 08:57:50 PM
The crypto community is getting bigger on daily basis, new institutions, big investors and country leaders/government are taking into use Bitcoin and some other crypto currencies. Because the system is not centralized, there are still some people who are skeptical in investing.

Crypto Exchanges being the market place for buying and selling, do you think the Decentralized Exchange and Centralized Exchanges will be on an equal treatment or one with power will suppress the other as per government involvement in one and not in the other on the long run?

What are your thoughts on this?
