1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Laggy desktop when mining. on: May 09, 2014, 11:02:03 PM
I have an i7-3770k and 7950
when i set my 7950 above intensity 17 the desktop becomes very laggy.

the i7-3770k hd 4000 graphics are displayed on one screen and i dont even turn on the second monitor for the 7950.
i have the screen set for 1 for hd 4000 with extend.

i'm wondering if theres a way to let the 7950 work at 19 or 20 intensity without lagging my desktop.
i've heard that true igpu chips like the amd A10 or other numbered ones don't lag, but dont see why my chip should be any different.

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Digital goods sold on ebay - I Won! on: April 10, 2014, 11:49:42 PM
So this isn't really crypto related but figured i would post about me slapping ebay in the face while selling digital goods.
when titanfall was giving out beta keys, they sent me 3 keys, i sold one for 9.99 usd.
at the time they said "zero fees".

recently they charged me $1 and didnt really say why but that it was owed.
once it hit my paypal account i disputed the charge with paypal and ebay gave back the $1.

granted its a small win, but with all the bs ebay does with people selling digital goods i feel like a million bucks!
also how do they figure they can charge me when they clearly say "Zero Fees"
only thing i can figure is they have some hidden 10% fee on selling, i find that pretty excessive!

5  Other / Beginners & Help / starting a pool - for educational purposes on: April 05, 2014, 11:13:52 PM
I like learning new things and have been looking around to see how one would make a pool.
i know you can download mpos and run it on ubuntu or centos
would like a more indepth look at the step by step process.

i've got a really crappy laptop i want to test and configure on.
i'm not great with linux but have set up a few servers on centos before, using some online guides.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Question about Risers on: February 08, 2014, 10:50:21 PM
Heres the goal.
i'm building a customer computer case out of acrylic to show off my computer guts.
its built out of acrylic, got all the other things i need but need a riser.
the riser will permit me to place the graphics card beside the motherboard. <-- very important to my build.
i bought 4 pcie 16x to 16x powered cables, but the look isn't making me happy at all, i'm actually trying to sell them now.

now, i'll be gaming on this rig, when not gaming i'll be mining, and i've only got one video card currently.

my question is, will something like the  USB Style PCI-E 1x - 16x Powered Riser Cable
the one that goes from pcie 1x to usb 3.0 to pcie 3
drop any performace on my graphics card while gaming?

heres a rendering of what the desk + case will look like. desk is already finished and is 8 foot by 3 foot Smiley
i reduced the amount of holes for fans to 6 total. i'll need to make a fan controller for it but i'll get to it later.
graphics card(s) will line the left and right sides of the motherboard (when i can buy more than the single card i have now)

7  Economy / Computer hardware / 4x powered pcie 16x to 16x riser cables w/ capacitors. $40 on: February 08, 2014, 11:37:04 AM
bought these for a computer build where i'm laying the graphics card beside the motherboard.
the cables are just too stiff and too wide to look good in my build.
will ship in antistatic bags

looking into getting the pcie 1x to usb so it looks pretty.

take all 4 for $40
you pay shipping and insurance to your location. will ship anywhere in the world.
i'd like to receive payment via paypal.
