2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / What happens if you send some bitcoin to a non existing address? on: December 15, 2013, 11:16:44 PM
If you type in an destination address instead of using copy/paste, and have a typo there, sending the bitcoins to this wrong (and lets say nonexisting) address. Do the bitcoins disappear forever (this is what I'm assuming), or is the blockchain rejecting this transaction?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to decide what to mine? on: August 28, 2013, 09:57:45 PM
To decide which coin to mine I've looked for a week at these websites:

http://wheretomine.com/
http://www.coinchoose.com/index.php
http://coinpolice.com/coin-comparison/
http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/

Now I'm more confused than before.

The stats change completely almost every hour and every one of these 4 sites have different coins in front on a daily basis.

I understand that the market is very volatile, but is there any website that does not display total nonsense?

Which site should I trust?

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Namecoin Mining on: April 15, 2013, 12:33:39 AM
I've installed namecoind (used instructions from here: http://dot-bit.org/InstallAndConfigureNamecoin), created a bitcoin.conf with user and pwd, started the daemon which downloaded all blocks, then retrieved my address and entered it into the mining.bitcoin.cz account.

Is there anything else I must do to start the namecoin mining? what is the username and password for?
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Trying to find the best miner; getting errors when using cgminer instead of bfg on: April 14, 2013, 01:27:29 AM
Hey,

I'm fairly new to bitcoin mining and try to find the best mining software (Windows) for my Radeon 7970.

I've tried bfgminer for some days, and it works fine, but I get only about 560KH at 1100 MHz.

Now I want to try cgminer. Installed it, took an example config from the web (which is quite similar to bfgminer, it looks like both are forks from the same source) and started mining.

I received a lof of messages like this:

 [2013-04-14 03:12:02] Rejected 996a5b88 Diff 315/64 GPU 0 pool 0 (Share is above target)
 [2013-04-14 03:12:05] Rejected 8f4f190a Diff 190/64 GPU 0 pool 0 (Share is above target)

Would please anyone help me fixing that.

I can set the difficult of my worker from 1 to 256.

If I set it to 256 (instead of 64) I do still receive rejected messages with Diff above 256,
and additionally a lof of stratum restart request messages.

Thanks for ANY help in advance!
