61  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Back to "100% of processor" problem on: April 25, 2013, 11:36:14 AM
Windows XP, 2x5770
I got a problem: whenever I do mining with some configurations, on 2 cards, it takes 100% of CPU (not GPU) and then mining speed drops to kHashes, instead of MHashes.

The problem is well-known, it is supposed to be curable with drivers (tried it, didn't work).

However, here is an interesting twist: I can mine, in any pool, on port 3333. I cannot mine, neither on pool, nor solo, on port 8332.
Which is strange, but maybe someone advanced will be able to figure out what the problem is?

Example of such a pool: btc guild's merged mining (it is done through 8332). While it is fine on main BTC Guild (through 3333).

Suggestions?
62  Other / Beginners & Help / How do they provide online bitcoin services? on: April 23, 2013, 07:02:03 AM
Hi,

As I understand, to create an online service you sometimes need to receive bitcoins from one person and send them to another.
Let's leave aside an obvious solution of doing it all on a personal computer. Let's say, I have a web site, and I want it to run the following service:
1. Receive money from A.
2. When confirmed, send money to B.

Normally, you need to query blockchain, with something like bitcoind.
There are some online services that will do it for you.

My question is: how do they do it?
I mean, except for running bitcoind, and then starting another copy of bitcoind to ask for new block info, and to search for "my" addresses - are there other solutions?

Thank you.
63  Other / Beginners & Help / Please help to understand Slash's Stat on: April 19, 2013, 12:10:13 AM
Hi.
I am mining on Slash (mining.bitcoin.cz), with 2 workers / 2 video cards 5770.
I see, on GUI Miner: 746 accepted / 677 accepted, 191 / 191 MHash
I see, in the same time, in my mining.bitcoin.cz cabinet: Current shares 514 / 480, hashrate 67 MHash
It looks like they don't see / don't report part of my performance, am I right? What is going on?
