1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / First time with this type of Miner - Bought PinIdea DR3 w/ EVGA 850W P2 on: August 17, 2017, 08:42:27 PM
Annnd I think I am connecting them correctly, the two AVG 8 pins to the 2 pins on the box. The PSU will not turn on.

There is no on or off buttom for the DR3 (that I seen?) so I figured just turning the on-off switch on the PSU would turn it on and off; surprisingly I can't get my device to even turn on to test.

The wired ethernet doesn't have to be plugged in first correct?

Am I missing something here?

Sorry complete newbie when it comes to Miners...

Would appreciate the support from anyone (primarily someone with a DR3! Smiley)

Thanks!
2  Economy / Computer hardware / Antminer S9 13.5TH/s w/ Bitmain 220-240v APW3 PSU 4Sale ($2k USD BTC/PayPal)FCFS on: August 17, 2017, 06:12:45 PM
Escrow obviously required and buyer pays for escrow (Unless you are VERY well known around here and have done tens of thousands in buys and sales or something), would like to use one of the well known escrow services on here. One we can both agree on. Buyer pays the 1% or 2% escrow or whatever it is.

Buyer pays for half of the shipping, only wanting 2k for this Miner and PSU both so this is a great price. will ship it Priority Mail via USPS 1-3 business day arrival time. Or ground which is 5 days. Up to you. We can calculate shipping costs after I find out where you are located!

Hi! This is for one of my slightly used (Wasted my money really, among a few other things the cost to upgrade a line to take 240v was much more than I expected so... I have to resell them sadly. I did not know they needed a 210-240v line when buying) will take $2000 in BTC or via PayPal Goods & Services (Verified accounts only) BIN. Prefer BTC but PayPal will also work.

PM me for pictures, a skype video of me showing you it live, etc. Still have proper seals that fit perfectly around the miner and everything! Can also supply pictures upon requests.

Reply that you are sendign me a PM & PM for phone number/skype/etc so we can get this going

Thanks for your time and again. ESCROW ONLY.

Thanks.

EDIT: Just got a PM asking where I was located and wanted to add this: Ohio (along with the Miners) and I would definitely encourage anyone who is close-by and interested that could pay cash or transfer BTC (or even a percentage of both) to message me! would love to sell this to someone close-by, would make this much easier.

Again I am looking to get this sold A.S.A.P so FCFS.

Thanks for the messages of interest! Hope this sells quick Smiley

EDIT 2:

Thanks for all the interest! Out of the 10 or so (guesstimate) of you who PM'd, some I was not in their Country (tax issues) and some lowballed way too bad, even had a guy with lower activity than me attempt to 'force' me to go first (I tried to compromise and asked if he had feedback that he could verify ANYWHERE else, he said "no but i buy for $5500 BTC now, just you have to send first and after I receive I give you BTC" (verbatim quote) -- And a few I am waiting for a response; and one is 100% interested although I am awaiting his text!

So therefore, it's still for sale!

(Even with paying half of shipping and escrow you are still getting an amazing deal; I may look at offers that are a LITTLE less than $2000 but I think $2000 is cheap enough to where buyer paying escrow fee and half of shipping should be just fine, let me know if that is asking for too much for anyone reading!)

Thanks!

P.S.
When I get the time I will attach some photos! Proof it is in great condition and have no fear, not only is the original Styrofoam (form fitting to the Antminer S9) but it will be wrapped around with large inflated plastic bubbles, and paper on the outside of the box. Doing this to prevent ANY sort of damage while it is being shipped to.. you? Smiley

In the future, please reply to the thread before PMing, you don't have to say you are interested if you want to remain anonymous; just reply with something! Thank you!!

EDIT 3 Had a family emergency with my mother having a minor stroke and she just got back out of the hospital today. Sorry for not responding to PMs and texts I will respond to them all now. Shes back home so I am ready to ship this out tomorrow if possible if we can strike a deal today or early tomorrow before the post office closes Wink

EDIT 4
So 2 of the 3 miners I had have been mailed out. If you have not got them yet; I apologize. People are claiming I am a scammer, when it is impossible for me to even scam in this situation; especially without tracking numbers.

The money is still in my account and I am unable to do anything with it until I guess the buyers confirm receipt of the packages. Well one of the buyers decided to preemptively (and stupidly; because I went ahead and called USPS and got the package returned, told them it was an emergency situation. And I will go ahead and let them go through with their dispute since they decided to get my account limited in the first place by creating a dispute before their package was even supposed to arrive)

So now that my account is limited, the other person whom I mailed a miner to I am attempting to also get returned to my address although I am having trouble and just selling them all via BTC only with an escrow and only with an escrow! because it was a bad idea to use PayPal in the first place, I should have known with their over protective security algorithms not to deal with them but I didn't think the buyer would be so stupid as to file a dispute and state "I want my money back" and then text me "I dont want my money back, I just want the miner" when I offered to refund. If the buyer wants to refute this claim, I will post screenshots of the dispute and of his texts AFTER he made the dispute of his hypocritical statements. Seems he is attempting to deceive me or something, either way; he is not going to rip me off like I think he is trying to do because he knows I don't have the tracking number. And he is not getting his money back for awhile because I am going to let PayPal slowly go through the process because I had $900 of my own money in my PayPal account that is now stuck. I was even unable to refund someone their money because of this limitation (totally different situation than all of this)

So hopefully I can get the other Miner returned to my address; because one person already filed a dispute after finding out I didn't have tracking and now another has the potential to rip me off. Who knows how long my account will be limited now. He told me he called them and my account was fine and I could use it but I can't even send F&F of money that I took out of my own bank so I guess he lied.

From now on. Escrow & BTC Only.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Ignis ICO Release & Schedule dates, along with distribution information on: July 21, 2017, 06:13:21 AM
Check out everything here:
https://www.jelurida.com/ico

Some awesome dates already released; what I'm looking forward to the most (obviously) is the Aug 05 - Aug 12 dates (the first batch) which will cost only 0.4 NXT per Token!! Only 60 million tokens available then and I am sure they will be gone the first day. I know I will be buying a ton myself, NXT is at the perfect price to buy in right now also, being so low. It is only going to grow as it gets closer to August 5th.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New SIA Coin Miner being released [Obelisk] on: July 03, 2017, 04:17:45 AM

Anyone see this? It's $2500 to preorder it, I wonder if that is just an introductory price or if the price will increase?

It sounds nice. If only I could afford one of these. I am actually thinking about getting a loan from someone to purchase this, and pay them back $3000, so basically the first 3 months would be dedicated to paying them back. That is, if the estimates below are correct from Reddit. Regardless; there is money to be made even with one of these in your home I think. Does anyone agree? Anyone want to preorder one of these and make $500? It was a joke but in all seriousness if anyone is interested; here is a pastebin link with a wall of text: https://pastebin.com/u82upndr

Tech Details
CHIP:FULL-CUSTOM 28NM ASIC
HASHRATE:100+GH/S
POWER CONSUMPTION:500 W OR UNDER
NOISE:65 DBA OR UNDER
WEIGHT:20 POUNDS OR UNDER
POWER SUPPLY:INCLUDED

100+ GH/S for Sia? This thing would bring an amazing amount of profit in the long run for sure! I read estimates on a subreddit about this miner that claimed $1k a month earnings per Obelisk. So 75 days and you get your money back? Wonder if the estimates are even close.

One thing I don't understand is their calculator on their website... If you take a look https://obelisk.tech/index.html#info it says "Monthly Mining Reward" and it's 60,000 SC; but it has automatically entered expected total obelisks at 10,000. Only about 650 have been preordered so far. So on release lets say it's half that (5000) would it realistically give 120,000 SC? It seems not to take into account anybody else in the world mining SIA whether it's other hardware or software. I don't know, maybe it does? Was just a curiosity to me.

So what do you guys think about this Obelisk Sia Coin Miner?

Also, offtopic but; I was looking at hardware miners and came across a miner everyone is probably aware of:
https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020160307072415240XwaQIqfF06D3

Is this worth buying? It says it's a lottery to receive 12.5 BTC (wow!) but the chances are probably less than a half a percent? Or less than that? Anyone know?

Was also looking at this

https://shop.bitmain.com/overview.htm?name=antrouter_r1_ltc_wireless_router_and_asic_litecoin_miner

It says coming soon but it was released late June from their facebook... I don't understand why it still says coming soon.. I would actually buy this since it mines Litecoin (slowly but surely) and you can also get a chance at the "lottery"

Does anyone know what the R1-LTC is selling for? Are there people selling it right now? Going to have to look through this forum I guess..

Anybody have any recommendations for cheap at-home miners under like $200 that could do any good? I would love to have an altcoin miner (hence my amazement at this siacoin miner) but they are all very costly. I guess people are out there building their own hardware miners to mine altcoins in their infancy and eventually will probably be making good money because of it. Wish I could have learned Electrical Engineering haha.

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think of this miner, and if you have a chance, tell me yes/no on the first and second bitmain miners (they sure are cheap... but I would probably be wasting my money correct?)
6  Economy / Economics / Having trouble how to use myaltcoins with poloniex. on: July 02, 2017, 07:49:09 AM
The maths is too hard.

Could anyone solve this for me:

I bought 0.27102289 ETH for 0.02924189 BTC when the current BTC price for ETH (in BTC) was at 0.10789454 per 1 ETH on 2017-07-02 07:16:05

What should I input for the price per coin?

I came up with either

https://gyazo.com/73ae89b2b42b95c69b6266d9b30dfa2d

or

https://gyazo.com/cb3c1798d6f6657352ac8b8b7366b36b

using google to determine the price of BTC to USD.

Were either of these right? And if not, could anyone give me what I should have correctly put for that date and time?

This was on Poloniex, and I guess I also need to take the 0.25% fee in mind as well; which I did not. I don't understand how people use myaltcoins so easily and why I am not comprehending it as well...

Something simple is going over my head I think. Poloniex does not provide the price in USD; I had to find it myself. I don't know if Poloniex has the same price for BTC as Poloniex.

Could someone give me the answer to this and then help me figure out how to do this on my own in the future?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the stupid question...
