64  Economy / Goods / Bitcoinbazaar.com For Sale to Highest Bidder on: August 13, 2011, 04:25:08 PM
http://bitcoinbazaar.com/

I registered this site a few months ago meaning to turn it into something similar to what Bitcoin Harbor has done. Obviously, I never got around to it and now I can't afford to invest the time and effort into developing yet another site.

Highest bidder gets the domain name and I'll throw in the Facebook Page and Twitter account, as well.

Let's start the bidding at 1 BTC.
65  Economy / Gambling / Insomnia_2 on: August 12, 2011, 04:11:11 PM
Insomnia_2

After some fine-tuning, I believe I finally have the perfect recipe:

ROI: 25%
Jackpot: 15%
Fees: 2.0%
Minimum Deposit: 0.2500 BTC
Maximum Deposit: 1.2500 BTC
Confirmations Required: 0
Expiration: 6 hours of inactivity

Now, we've got everything: good ROI, quickly growing Jackpot, affordable minimum that still makes a decent impact toward paying off earlier bettors, and a short timer to make it more exciting.

Feel free to tell me how it's not perfect yet.  Tongue

68  Economy / Goods / New Products at BitBrew on: July 20, 2011, 03:56:10 PM
Decaffeinated coffees are now available at BitBrew.net!

I'm still trying to find a dependable, local merchant carrying high quality tea leaves at wholesale prices. Once I do, I'll announce it in this thread.

Feel free to suggest coffee related merchandise - mugs, grinders, etc - you would like to see available for BTC and I'll see what I can do to get them added to the BitBrew line.

Thanks again to everyone who has ordered so far!
69  Economy / Services / Open to Suggestions to Encourage Reviews at TBL on: July 19, 2011, 03:14:17 AM
I'm getting some good traffic at The Bitcoin List but not a single site has been reviewed since I gave away a bitcoin on July 1st. Does anyone have any suggestions to encourage visitors to submit reviews?
70  Economy / Goods / [Contest] Design A BitBrew Shirt, Win Prizes! on: July 13, 2011, 03:10:12 PM
Here's how this works:

1. Design a shirt everyone will want to wear while drinking their premium BitBrew coffee.
2. Put up an image in this thread or contact me via PM or the BitBrew Contact Page.
3. The best entry will be judged by forum members in a thread poll.
4. The winner receives 3 BTC worth of free coffee from BitBrew and a shirt proudly displaying their design.

That's it!

The amount of time this contest will run depends on how many entries are received during the first few days. Newbies will be able to submit an entry but not vote in the poll (unless the forum rules are changed between now and then).

Good luck!
71  Economy / Goods / BitBrew has gone global! on: July 08, 2011, 04:38:53 PM
The number of requests for BitBrew coffee from abroad have grown so much, I've finally been able to negotiate much better international shipping rates. Now, for only 1.5 BTC more, even those outside the continental US can enjoy premium coffee in exchange for bitcoins.

My thanks go out to all current and future customers for helping to grow the Bitcoin economy.
72  Economy / Marketplace / [GIVEAWAY] 1 BTC from The Bitcoin List! on: June 23, 2011, 12:07:42 PM
Win a bitcoin from The Bitcoin List!

Here's how: Rate and review a site at The Bitcoin List before July 1st, 2011. That's it!

One person will be chosen at random and announced in this thread as the recipient of one (1) BTC on July 1st. Reviewing multiple sites will NOT increase your odds of winning but WILL benefit the Bitcoin community, so you are still encouraged to do so.

As always, if you don't see your Bitcoin related site on The List, let me know and I'll add it.

Good Luck!
73  Economy / Marketplace / New Bitcoin Directory - The Bitcoin List on: June 01, 2011, 02:14:37 AM
Yes, it's another directory of Bitcoin related sites, The Bitcoin List.

Brought to you by the creator of BitBrew (me).

I just did quick and dirty site descriptions, but submitting your own is free via the contact page. If you would like to post images, include the url or request my email address.

Advertising: One (1) BTC puts your banner in the random page view rotation. Submitting your banner more than once increases the odds of it appearing.

Please use this thread for comments and suggestions.
74  Other / Off-topic / Domain Name Squatting on: May 17, 2011, 03:46:36 PM
I've seen this issue come up in certain threads and was wondering what the overall feeling is concerning Domain Name squatters.

Personally, when thinking of a website or business name, I assume that the best ones will already be taken unless I have some very specialized niche I'm hoping to fill. I consider it a challenge to come up with something catchy, descriptive, short, and unique. Of course, it can be a bit irritating seeing domains sitting idle when I could be putting them to good use.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Proposed Bitcoin Nomenclature on: May 15, 2011, 05:21:29 PM
1.00000000 = 1 BTC = 1 Bitcoin
0.10000000 = .1 BTC = simply .1 Bitcoins, or 1/10th of a Bitcoin
0.01000000 = .01 BTC = 1 Bitcent
0.00100000 = 1 mBTC = 1 milliBit, or whatever the result of this thread is
0.00010000 = 1 nBTC = 1 nanoBit
0.00001000 = 1 pBTC = 1 planckBit, or 1 pBit
0.00000100 = 1 hBTC = 1 hadronBit, or hadroBit, or 1 hBit
0.00000010 = 1 qBTC = 1 quarkBit, or 1 qBit
0.00000001 = 1 sBTC = 1 Satoshi

Here's my proposed breakdown of Bitcoin currency. I've been giving this some thought ever since I came across Bitcoins and figured now was a good time to get some feedback and see if my arbitrary names will catch on.

78  Economy / Marketplace / Help needed finishing shopping cart integration on: May 07, 2011, 04:08:20 PM
I've got just about everything set up for my site to accepts bitcoins as payment but I'd like to customize my shopping cart a bit more. I'm not a developer, so I need a bit of assistance configuring some variables and sending data to the appropriate places. Right now, I have the MyBitcoin SCI working fine but only using one set price for each generated button. How do I get it to change the amount based on the total in my customers' shopping carts?
79  Economy / Marketplace / Bitcoin Bazaar on: April 27, 2011, 02:00:46 AM
The Bitcoin Bazaar is now open for business. Basically, it's a place for Bitcoin enthusiasts to congregate if they're looking to buy or sell something to other Bitcoin enthusiasts. For a small monthly fee (only one BTC, at the moment), you can stake your claim to a place in the Bazaar.

I'll only be accepting Bitcoins as payment, but anyone who would like to sign up as a Bitcoin Bazaar merchant may accept any form of payment you wish and still take advantage of the exposure to the site's (future) community.

I'll continue to work on it, so please be patient before bombarding me with requests for more features.  Wink
