1  Economy / Speculation / A new ATH before halving. Is it possible? on: February 15, 2024, 02:16:37 AM
Ever since its creation, Bitcoin's ATH is reached after the halving, more than a year after the halving to be more precise. There have been three halvings so far. This kind of pattern is true to all of them.

But I'm becoming curious this time around. The price has already reached $52,000 and we are still 2 months away from the halving. Bitcoin's ATH was reached on November 10, 2021. 2 months prior to that, the price was only around $46,000. From $52,000, it only took a month for Bitcoin to reach an ATH of $69,000.

Now, my question is: is it a possibility that this upcoming halving is unique in that a new ATH is reached before it? We still have a lot of time left. With the demand beating the supply, $69,000 is not far away from the current price.
2  Economy / Speculation / Argentina's Pro-Bitcoin Javier Milei Winning the Presidential Race on: November 20, 2023, 03:29:02 AM
Crypto news are all ecstatic about the victory of Javier Milei as the new president of Argentina. The reason is simply that the man has been vocal about his support for Bitcoin and his distrust of the central bank and the fiat currency.

It seems Javier's strong sentiment against the the collusion of the government and the central bank to abuse money to the detriment of the ordinary people is exactly the people's sentiment as well. This was reflected or translated into votes bringing him to the highest position of the land.

The perfect timing of the announcement and his opponent's act of conceding was probably the biggest reason for the rise in Bitcoin's price today. But I think this is just the beginning. Javier's pro-Bitcoin stance and the policies and decisions that would follow from it would probably drive a much stronger adoption in the country soon. Do you see the same thing? Will this be another big reason to be bullish?
3  Economy / Speculation / Has anybody expected this? on: October 24, 2023, 02:06:39 AM
Not that I'm a charting expert or a good technical or fundamental analyst let alone a bear, but I'm really surprised at the spike that's happened, and which is probably continuously happening as of this writing. So far, the price has already hit above $34,000. That's already more than 12% in growth in just 24 hours.

Has anybody somehow expected this kind of thing? Has anybody had at least a tiny clue that something like this would happen? I know Uptobers have been good months, but every huge increase especially a sudden one must have a big reason. I'm not seeing one that could push such growth so fast. I was really caught by surprise. Will a Bitcoin spot ETF be certainly approved soon that insiders have already relayed to their bosses the good news and the accumulation has secretly grown stronger?
4  Economy / Speculation / Adam Back's Bullish Bet on: August 07, 2023, 06:24:05 AM
This is a bet between Adam Back and Vikingo on Twitter.

The bet was later on revised.

https://twitter.com/adam3us/status/1687867393664847872

But still I can't help but think twice why the respected Dr. Adam Back is this bullish. If I were to bet on this, I'd bet against him. But this man isn't a John McAfee or a Balaji who were apparently exaggerating in their predictions. Adam Back seems to be a very reasonable man for me.

I know he's just reacting to Cointelegraph's article Bitcoin miners need BTC price over $98K by the halving — Analysis. But he's really convinced that Bitcoin will indeed reach at least $100,000 on or before the halving. He's willing to bet on it.

Do you think Adam Back's prediction is realistic? Are you as bullish as him?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Best Ethereum Staking Platform on: April 24, 2023, 03:11:11 AM
Guys, if you are currently staking ETH or have made comprehensive research as to which platform is the best all in all in ETH staking, please share your experience. Share numbers as well like the APY, the fees, etc.

Please share your experience regardless of where you're staking, whether it is on a centralized platform or on a liquid or non-liquid staking pool.

Currently, it appears as if Lido and Nexo are two of the largest, at least as far as liquid pools are concerned.

Also share the security considerations that you also took into account in your decision. Or is ETH staking using third party worth it?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum's Shapella Upgrade now live: Price Increased rather than Fell on: April 14, 2023, 04:47:45 AM
Finally, the Shanghai and Capella upgrades of Ethereum, together called Shapella, are now live. It activated on April 12. The fears of many that the price might nosedive following the upgrade, considering that it means those staked ETH could now be withdrawn from the Beacon Chain,
are now allayed.

There were worries and debates as to what will happen to the price of ETH as soon as the Beacon Chain withdrawal is activated. Those who worried and believed that a dump will happen are now proven wrong. Not only did the price of ETH remain stable, it rose and even broke $2,000.

Although it helped that there is a daily withdrawal limit to staked ETH, the confidence that Shapella provided to the entire community proved to be a lot stronger.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Solana is being attacked right now. The attack is on going. Beware! on: August 03, 2022, 03:13:11 AM
Just hours ago, Solana is being attacked. As of this posting, the attack hasn't ended yet. So far, the stolen amount has already exceeded $6 million.

It is advised for users to start "unlinking browser-based Solana wallets from all internet sites, and moving funds to a new clean wallet." And this is urgent.

If you have cold wallets, it is better to transfer your coins and tokens there for the time being. It is found out that hot wallets such as Phantom, Slope, and Trust Wallet are already being drained of funds because of this current attack.

8  Economy / Speculation / A Little Surprised! on: April 09, 2022, 02:34:13 AM
I was honestly expecting Bitcoin to hit $50,000 soon. That didn't happen. It shouldn't have been surprising but because of big news like Terra's gradual purchase of at least 10 billion dollars of Bitcoin for its UST stablecoin, MicroStrategy's additional purchase of thousands of Bitcoin, etc, I was expecting that Bitcoin's price would somehow react positively.

And now that the Miami Bitcoin conference is currently happening with huge Bitcoin adoption surprises such as Shopify's adoption of Bitcoin lightning payments, the price is falling even more. Things are generally positive lately. There is also the news of the partnership of Jack Dorsey's Block, Adam Back's Blockstream, and Elon's Tesla for a 100% solar-powered Bitcoin mining project. And then there's Robinhood's integration of the Lightning Network.

These and many more good news, and yet the price is falling to $42,000?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum's Vitalik Buterin is the cover of Time Magazine. on: March 19, 2022, 02:20:51 AM

The influential and respected Time magazine has Vitalik Buterin of Ethereum as its cover. The latest issue of Time featured the story of what the magazine dubbed as "The prince of crypto" and his brainchild, Ethereum. The article entitled "The Man Behind Ethereum Is Worried About Crypto's Future" is written by Andrew R. Chow. In an overview, Chow wrote, "Ethereum Creator Vitalik Buterin Fights to Fix the World He Created."

The article shares how Ethereum started and developed throughout the years, how it remained strong and solid after going through various challenges. It also shared how Ethereum's current development is somewhat off-track from Buterin's original vision. He is particularly wary of stuff like NFT and how people are now interested in money more than anything else.

Read it here.

10  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin makes new ATH. More ATHs to come shortly. on: November 09, 2021, 01:44:19 AM
It's just around 20 days ago when Bitcoin reached its previous ATH which was $66,974.77. Just an hour ago, that ATH is already a piece of history as Bitcoin once again registered a new ATH. This time, the new ATH is $67,772.67.

Who else have the feeling that this very recent ATH will not be there for long?

$100,000 is now in clear sight. S2F might prove to be right once again.
11  Economy / Speculation / A Possible BTC Future by Gavin Andresen on: September 30, 2021, 02:16:26 AM
Has anybody read this article?

Just lately, Gavin Andresen, the person to whom Satoshi entrusted Bitcoin before he left, wrote an article about the future of Bitcoin. Gavin published it on his website, gavinandresen.ninja, around a week ago.

In the article, he predicted that the network will come to an end in 2061. But not before the price would reach as high as $6,000,000.

Do you think this is possible?

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum is once again going through a hard fork? on: May 02, 2021, 01:03:57 PM
I came across a news about Etherlite, a hard fork of Ethereum. Has anyone also heard the news? I have read several articles about it but it seems it is not widely discussed here, not even mentioned in the ANN thread of Ethereum.

In fact, the Mainnet has just been launched today. But it seems it is not a big deal at all. Is this another useless hard fork or is this hard fork directed towards a goal which would really improve the network?

I want to hear the opinions of the expert on this.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why is there nobody talking about DOGE? on: January 29, 2021, 02:26:15 AM
The price of DOGE has suddenly leaped from 25 sats to 129 sats in just a matter of hours. It was unbelievable. No one was expecting such a rally for DOGE. That's more than 400% of growth out of the blue.

Accordingly, the rally has something to do with the infamous Wall Street Bets which got its popularity through Reddit.

As of this writing, DOGE has already climbed to the 13th rank as per CMC and Coingecko, surpassing the larger names in crypto such as EOS, Monero, Tezos, Tron, etc.
14  Economy / Speculation / Yes, you who are waiting, what is your excuse now? on: January 04, 2021, 12:22:50 PM
I have read a number of questions such as 'when to enter?', 'what is the best price to buy?', 'should I wait?', etc. And statements such as 'I am waiting for a dip to buy', 'I should've bought at this and that price', 'Bitcoin is now very expensive', etc.

In the past 24 hours as per CMC, Bitcoin has reached $34,346.59 USD and fell down $28,722.76 USD. There was around $6,000 USD in difference or should I say discount.

To you who waited for a dip, did you buy at $28,722.76 or did your hand shake? Did you act on it or did you wait for more? The train slowed down for you. The price fell down for you. Did you buy?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Questions on Earning Tokens and Coins by Playing Blockchain-based Games on: November 09, 2020, 01:59:32 AM
I have a few questions on earning NFT tokens and other altcoins by playing games.

We probably have already heard of the Axie Infinity (AXS) which is built on Ethereum and how it has risen through the ranks, with almost $11,000,000 volume in Binance. I have also encountered Litebringer which offers Litecoin (LTC) earnings just by playing.

If anybody has ever played such games, could you please be kind enough to share your experiences here? How much did you spend when you started? How much did you earn? Is everything worth it?
