1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Coinwallet attack is causing backlog in the network and blockchain...hurting BTC on: September 10, 2015, 08:06:45 PM
http://motherboard.vice.com/read/great-job-everyone-bitcoiners-are-ddosing-bitcoin

The number of backlogged transactions is currently above 90,000 and climbing, and the size of the “memory pool,” the database that stores them, is shooting past 150MB. It usually sits below 10. On the Bitcointalk forum, where much of today’s action is going down, users are reporting that their Bitcoin clients are crashing when they try to collect the coins.

Here is a better view...look at 7 days "Recent Mempool"

Coinwallet changed the strategy for their attack, but it's still working.  This is really bad for bitcoin and for the price.

I think I will sell some of my BTC and buy it back for a lower price after this attack.  We bounced so hard and due for a pullback anyway and once news of this attack spreads, it will force the price down lower.  Might as well sell now and buy back even more BTC afterwards...the safer strategy.

2  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Lost bitcoin with bitWallet on Iphone. Please help on: August 01, 2014, 06:13:46 PM
I have bitWallet on my Iphone and for some reason, there is an option in the program to delete the private key.  I accidentally did that and just wondering if there is any way to restore it and get the bitcoin back out or if it is gone for good.

If you have any ideas, please let me know.  Thanks!
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Boycott GHASH.IO/CEX.IO permanently on: June 12, 2014, 06:52:46 PM
Someone else just posted a thread similar to this one, but it bears repeating. We need to have one or two of these type threads on the front page EVERY DAY until we beat back this corrupt organization that can utterly destroy bitcoin if we aren't careful. (And ok can't destroy it but can irreparably harm it and cause the price to drop 80% or more overnight).

The bitcoin community needs to take this issue MUCH more seriously. It's not an area where we can afford to be lazy about....or try to be polite and "nicely" as them to please don't do a 50% attack...over and over and over.

Boycott them permanently and encourage others to do the same and keep doing so, well into the future.

I encourage others to post threads like this too.

And here is a very telling link:

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What is a BTC charting site that has sound alerts for Time & Sales? on: May 21, 2014, 02:32:35 AM
I used to like bitcoin.clarkmoody.com and the way you could set the sounds it would play when there was an uptick or downtick in the BTC price.   But of course Gox went away and this service is no more.

Is there a comparable type site that uses Bitstamp order book and Time and Sales??

Thanks for any help!

what a joke.
9  Economy / Service Discussion / New Mt Gox Press Release - Feb 10 - they are claiming flaw in bitcoin protocol ! on: February 10, 2014, 10:04:34 AM
https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20140210.html

This is probably worse news than most of us expected. Not only are they not resuming withdrawls, they are claiming it is because of basic flaw in the bitcoin protocol.

If it's not true, it's still some really bad press.

If it is true, then will hurt the confidence of BTC in the short-term, and the price of course.

This was posted below that the flaw has been discussed elsewhere recently:

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Brand new to bitcoin mining, need help on: April 17, 2011, 12:50:22 PM
I just started this last night, my friend walked me through the process, I was using GUIminer with a deepbit.net account(remember I'm completely in the dark about this, so please excuse any incorrect terms/info) but I did not know how to shut it down correctly, I asked the /G/ board on 4chan, they said if I just stop mining it would be fine, but when I relaunched it, it said I had no bitcoins, even though I earned 640 shares during the night, did I do something wrong? I'm very confused/frustrated because I can't find anything online about similar problems.
