After installing the new 2.5.4 on my offline PC I'm getting the following error: "this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
Of course, multiple installs have not worked. Before I started, I renamed both the electrum folder within program files and the electrum folder in the c:\documents and settings\username\application data\users folder.
I can return to the original install if needed but I'm unable to send some transactions due to the old age of the current install.
I'm guessing I have some out-dated dependencies, any help would be appreciated.

I saw a post a few days ago regarding http://encryptedbitcoinwallet.com/ and would love it if these were safe to use. Not being a Java expert, I don't trust my own abilities to properly vet it's legitimacy myself. Source: https://github.com/iceburn2003/EncryptedBitcoinWalletBasically, it's an offline paper wallet generator (like bitaddress.org) that supports bip 38 and m of n password recovery. Seems like a great solution if it can be trusted. Thoughts?

This open letter is in response to your Shipment and Refund Letter ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262052.msg4206282#msg4206282) earlier today. In the beginning, Hashfast convinced the entire community that they were the next evolution in ASIC manufaturers, being honest above-board and communicative. In fact, it took quite a bit of convincing to get me to pull the trigger. Having been burned previously I had initially decided not to order. After many posts by Simon and John (via the Hashfast account), I slowly came around. Full BTC refunds, the MPP program, imminent delivery (being on track to deliver at the end of October) all convinced me that my BTC was safe and that this would be the a solid investment. Since then as we all know Hashfast has turned out to be a completely different company. - You guys were never on track to deliver in October (not even close), effectively selling January equipment @ October prices.
- You never actually intended to provide full refunds, as it turns out, that was a complete lie.
- You repeatedly modified the TOS to the detriment of your customers. Most changes were done secretly without versioning and are now expecting customers who ordered in August to be bound by the modified terms.
- John and I'm at this point convinced Eduardo, employed the use of shill accounts (iCEBREAKER, bitcoinermax and others) to badmouth competition and squash negative posts whenever directed towards your company.
So in response to your email I answer your 6 questions below: 1) Batch 1 Order Number: 1460 2) Product & Quantities: Babyjet x 2 3) Full Name: *withheld* 4) Shipping Address: *withheld* 5) Method of Payment: Direct BTC transfer (http://blockchain.info/tx/b97e4a16ebf5e7da03a32e0c31fe04de69c29ddde689f2c03f0ccb5c67ae7075) 6) Confirmation that I understand USD order totals that were originally paid with BTC can be refunded in BTC at the USD to BTC market exchange rate on the date of refund: NO I DO NOT CONFIRM
Hashfast is in clear violation of FTC guidelines regarding refunds ( http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule). I, pursuant to my rights as defined in the above linked guidelines demand a full BTC refund (89.27399159 btc) within 7 days of receipt of this request.

This isn't a good sign for Hashfast customers. Their shill is trolling Cointerra's thread talking about refunds when he should be in the Hashfast thread reassuring customers.

Delivery date: End of September (within this week) I'm taking offers for my Jupiter with 6 months paid hosting. I will simply hand over my account details for you to define your payout address and / or pool information. I paid for my Jupiter within the first hours of the store being open (should be one of the first few if not the first to roll off the production line). Once the 6 months of paid hosting are up, they will simply ship the miner to your address (configurable within the account). This is a minimum 400Gh/s device rumored to be 500Gh/s+. I will accept escrow for delivery of account details. This auction is a great way for you to get a day one Jupiter without paying for VAT or waiting on shipping. According to KNC this unit should be up and hashing within hours of production. I have $9,195 invested ($6,995 for the miner $2,200 for hosting), minimum bid 90BTC with a 'buy it now' of 125BTC. Please bid in minimum increments of 1 bitcoin. The number to check delivery status is: 143-N3S2-000189 I reserve the right to cancel the auction. The auction is over when the timer lapses and a bid has not been received for at least 5 minutes. I'm only interested in bids, please keep this thread clear of back of the envelope math, network estimates or your general opinions. If unsuccessful, I'm perfectly happy to take receipt and mine with this unit.

I'm interested in selling 25 shares @ 4.75 immediately. If they don't sell in the next hour I'll hold them. Proof of ownership/control: ============================================================================ Address: 18fPWLnW22EobTwSUU5kQySfYu4eT4zT59 Message: dhenson owns the Asicminer shares at public address 18fPWLnW22EobTwSUU5kQySfYu4eT4zT59 Signature: HDsNxv3PEAIIeb4vTHKHS6VWFp8/1a33swh5ss9+kEvZTn1GjPIikCR351U5hsfgJspIvafTfefSvnyThJJ6UE0= ============================================================================ This thread should be sufficient for proof of purchase. There won't be time for escrow.

I live in the US but I download bbuk via newsgroups. I'm seriously addicted.
I thought Adam should have won last year. This hear I'm hoping Dan wins.
Thoughts?

It seems to me that it would be an amazing addition to the forum. I think the reddit tipbot has done a lot to promote bitcoin to the wider reddit community. Think how easy small transactions with fellow forum members would be if you could simply 'tip /verify' to purchase things like fixed rate shares etc.
Thoughts?

To the shitcan with your trust I've already done business on my other username. Went smooth. No problems. This name is forever associated with distrust and insane accusations. That's fine. Kruniac is apparently already setup with a 2nd account and making trades. Are there any protections in place to identify secondary accounts of scammers by those with access to IP address history? This user has defrauded over 50 BTC from forum members over the past week.

Went for sushi last night and had one too many saki bombs. Ended up telling a friend about AMC shares. He gave me some cash so I redeemed some cold wallets I had encrypted in zipped pdf's on my phone and used the blockchain app to fund my we exchange account. Only problem, somehow I didn't include a fee.
If any miner decides to process my 19.99 + .0005 btc transaction, the next round is on me!
Edit... Offering .25 btc reward for suggestion that actually lets me recover my 19.99 btc.

Check out Clark Moody group by $5 / 1000 lines. There are less than 100k BTC for sale on the entire market. This is the lowest I've seen it. (it's historically been over 170k) The combination of the MtGox account seizure and AsicMiner PT share purchases has caused a mass exodus of BTC being for sale on the market. Add to that an increase in people using other exchanges and MtGox is amazingly thin.
I expect the price to continue to rise in the short term. Hold on to your hats, we're at the beginning of a new bubble.

Seriously, I can't think of a more inspiring story. This needs to happen.

I may be misunderstanding something, but wouldn't it be more advantageous to have more people running full nodes, mining solo than in 10-15 large pools?
I realize this next question is a moving target, but how many GH/s would you say is a current minimum you would have to have before considering mining solo?

I just noticed the search feature is gone. Anyone know if this is a permanent change?
What other sites do you use to search transactions/public address balances etc.?

Does anyone else have this problem?
a) I check bitcointalk.org/bitcoin.clarkmoody.com 100 times a day. b) My friends all think I'm crazy and are tired of every conversation looping back to the merits of bitcoin. c) I've stopped eating out, buying random stupid shit and am investing every spare penny in bitcoin. d) I offer to settle every payment with bitcoin. So far, not one person has said yes. e) If bitcoin is trending up, I'm in a great mood. Down, and I'm mixing the cheapest vodka I can find with packets of crystal light pink lemonade to drown my woes.
