1  Economy / Speculation / Atlas ATS: a New Marketplace for Digital Currency and Bitcoin Trading on: May 17, 2013, 12:32:20 AM
Just a quick post - saw this on reddit and I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion over it. Perhaps swamped by the founders fund and webmoney news?

Sounds like they got their shit together... and New York based.

EDIT - ok maybe they don't have their shit together, but they talk the talk... in other news... apples and water https://btcglobal.net/
2  Economy / Speculation / BITSTAMP - some strange trades on: April 21, 2013, 05:15:06 PM
what benefit would someone derive from a bid above the highest bidding price in terms of manipulation?

I saw a few in the order book, and the price actually took an upswing at one point...

Would it be a case of a a few small bids push the price up temporarily, and then one massive sell gets to sell at a higher price?
3  Other / Beginners & Help / very simple transaction question - PLEASE PUT MY MIND AT REST JUST BRIEFLY READ on: April 20, 2013, 03:05:31 AM

just doing some transfers to my account on Bitstamp.

Lands in account ok, then appears to be moving out of my address...

This is just Bitstamp moving to their hotwallet/cold storage right??
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / BITSTAMP - does anyone know the arrangement they have with banks? on: April 18, 2013, 10:27:35 PM
Basically I was part of the Bitcoin-24 problem... I lost a fair bit of money.

Threw the rest of my spare into Bitstmp and have withdrawn my coins...

THE LAST thing I, or anyone else for that matter, wants, is to turn around after a coin sale and find out Bitstamp didn't cover it's tracks legally for the huge amount of funds coming out of their banks.

Anyone with any information? I am searching now and will post if I find, I have also asked them to let me know via a support ticket.

The fish is in the net.

Thanks to those who helped make this possible, you know who you are.

It's funny how a group of 4 people with less than $10 mil to spare can throw the Bitcoin ecosystem around like a ragdoll Smiley
