1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Auto-start bfgminer on raspberry pi? on: November 02, 2013, 02:56:06 AM
I've read through the fourms, and came across a few methods for auto starting cgminer, but haven't had any luck so far.

How can I auto start bfgminer on my raspberry pi?

The below commands don't work like they do with minepeon:
sudo systemctl enable bfgminer.service
sudo systemctl start bfgminer.service

I can type and edit:
sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE/autostart
but, I'm unsure what to add to the list to run bfgminer.

Currently, I have to run "./bfgminer -S all" from withing the bfgminer directory.

Thank you!
2  Bitcoin / Mining support / Not all USB Erupters mining on minepeon on: October 26, 2013, 01:37:36 AM
I've got a Pi with 4 Dlink DUB-H7's with 3A power supplies. Running minepeon 0.2.3a. My PI is hooked up to my lan, not wifi. From my pi, 1 usb hub is plugged. From that hub, 3 more hubs are branched out, and are filled up with 7 miners in each, 21 total. One of the hubs, all miners work. the other 2 hubs, every other miner works. I've tried unplugging them, plugging them back in, re-flashing the sd card and starting from scatch. It's always the same. One hub works 100%, and each and every other hub, every other miner mines. 3 miners mine, 4 dont, and always every other one.

Any ideas?

3  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Raspberry Pi B - Time reset after reboot on: August 24, 2013, 05:43:25 AM
Every time I power cycle my Raspberry pi B, it thinks it's 12/31/1969. Granted, that was an awesome year, we're a little past that now. It seems to correct itself after a few minutes. Isn't there some type of clock on these things that keep going even when the power goes out? Or maybe I shouldn't be expecting so much from a $30 computer.

Thanks!  Smiley
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Minepeon - Taking MUCH more time that I give it for a donation on: August 23, 2013, 09:45:34 PM
I decided to let my raspberry pi run with the latest minepeon, with 15 minutes of donation time set. 7 hours later, it's still mining for the donation pools, and my pool has been deleted. Anybody else having this problem?  Embarrassed

6  Bitcoin / Hardware / USB Block Eruptor - Invalid Nonce error with Satechi UH-12P - REWARD! on: July 31, 2013, 06:08:02 AM
I'm using CGMiner 3.1.1. I've got a Satechi UH-12P 12 port usb 2 hub, with an upgraded 5 volt, 6 amp power supply. When I run CGMiner, everything works fine for a few minutes, then 3 of the erupters will randomly start giving errors:

ICA1: invalid nonce - HW error
ICA0: invalid nonce - HW error
ICA3: invalid nonce - HW error

Not in that order though. It's pure random.

Here's my setting:

cgminer-nogpu.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100 -S COM3 -S COM4 -S COM5 -S COM6 -S COM7

All help is appriciated!

Thanks.

BTC .5 BTC to whoever can help me get it fixed first, providing it can be fixed without buying new usb hubs! BTC

8  Bitcoin / Mining / Optimal settings for dual MSI twin frozone III 7950 cards. on: May 03, 2013, 04:40:32 PM
Using GUIMiner, I'm getting 450 - 475 MH/s per card.
I'm using these cards: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667

Can I get better performance using CGMiner, or is this hash rate what is expected from these cards?
9  Other / Off-topic / New AR15 quad rail forend with built in stealth bi-pod on: April 15, 2013, 11:08:14 PM
This post is definitely off topic! Rifle fans will like it though.

I was stumbling gun sites this morning and came across this website for AR15's. I love my AR so it interested me. It had a post of some guy who made a grip for the carbine model of the AR that has an integrated Bi-Pod that conceals itself away within the grip making it completely hidden. It also includes quad rails on the top and sides for your attachments. Pretty slick! It's called the SiRip.

Sign me up! I want one!

10  Economy / Service Discussion / My experience with BitInstant today on: April 15, 2013, 04:33:46 AM
I went to WalMart today, waded through all of the WalMartians, and got in line at customer service. I set 160.00 to BitInstant, then I went to see a movie with a friend. Afterwards, we went and had a frosty brew. I got home, and the BTC was in my wallet! I was surprised, considering how easy it was and this was my first transaction to them. I know some people are having problems with BitInstant and not getting their funds for some time, or if at all.

I made my deposit at about 3:00 pm, and the funds where deposited at 8:39 pm. Took 5 hours, 39 minutes for them to make the deposit. They could speed things up a bit... I realize today is Sunday, but if they're going to run an exchange, they shouldn't get the luxury of having a day off.

And what's up with people making $500 transfers, and never getting their BTCBTC? That sucks!
11  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Help me build my 1st rig! $4k budget. on: April 11, 2013, 05:11:26 AM
I've been handed $4,000 and asked to build a mining rig. If you had to spend somebody elses money to build a rig, and share 50% of the profits for your time, and not have to worry about power, what would you build? I like shopping on newegg, but I always check amazon and other places for a better deal.

I really wanted to get a butterfly labs 50 GH/s asic miner, but I'm not about to fork over somebody elses money and say we'll get the product in a year, if at all.

Do I go for 7970, or a 7950 GPU? Do I put 3 GPU's on a single motherboard, or build 3 single GPU miners?
I know the CPU and memory aren't important, as a celeron will work just fine on 2 gigs of memory.

I'm mainly looking for advise on the GPU, motherboard, Power and what OS to run it on (win or linux?)

Thanks!

Maybe the idea is to build 2 or 3 rigs... ?

I'd post this in hardware, but I'm still stuck in the n00b lounge.

Thanks!
13  Other / Beginners & Help / Motherboard performance question on: April 10, 2013, 03:22:14 AM
When it comes to motherboards, will it affect your rigs performance if you use a motherboard that has 3 pci express 3.0 slots, but only one is configured for x16 performance, and the rest drop to x8 if you run 3 GPU's in crossfire mode? Should they all be x16 slots, or does it even matter, as long as you're using pci express 3.0 slots?
14  Other / Beginners & Help / What happens bitcoins when somebody looses their wallet in the long term? on: April 10, 2013, 02:50:46 AM
Say I loose a wallet password today, and 5 days down the road, each bitcoin is worth $1000 USD. Are those coins lost forever, or does the system somehow "reclaim" them back after X amount of time has gone by?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / I waited too long! on: April 10, 2013, 02:41:02 AM
I waited too long to really get into bitcoin mining. I started playing around with it in 2011, and stopped because my computer wasn't generating enough coins, so I gave it up. I'll be kicking myself in the rear for a long time. Time to build a real mining rig!
