1  Other / Politics & Society / What was the maximum capitalization of the madoff scheme ? on: June 07, 2017, 04:52:31 PM
I wish to know the scale of the funds invested in the pyramid, was it big or BIG ?  Undecided  And how long did it took before the big crash ?

I never heard much in the news where I live , so I'm just asking here.
2  Other / Off-topic / 100 years ago... and the future. on: May 30, 2017, 05:30:32 PM

This gives some insight of how things are evolving at an incredible rate, some will says even exponentially. Given all the progress that has been done we can easily conclude that currencies will also innevitabely also change over time , Bitcoin being a real kickstarter of it.

The roadmap isn't clear yet, but chances are we are going toward digitally and tech driven currencies ( decentralized or not , I can't say ) We can't see the future, but if you think things of today won't change, you should reconsider your point of view.

Feel free to use this thread to give your insights on how currencies might be in 100 years from now.
3  Economy / Economics / What power does Traders have on the Bitcoin price ? on: May 26, 2017, 11:43:00 AM
Hi here !

So, the captitalization of BTC reached 40B $ , this is nice but not huge at all compared to FIAT currencies.

My question is : with such a "low" amount of money, does the traders have real power over the Bitcoin price ? I always heared about the natural inflation, simply more demand etc... But don't you think that if a lot of early investors with huge amount of BTC could gather and have control over its price ? Or they are simply slave of the system like every one of us ?

I'm waiting for your toughts  Grin
4  Economy / Speculation / The 21 Bitcoins club on: May 24, 2017, 08:30:46 PM

It's not too late to board for the trip to the moon I guess.

This is amateurish speculation but I made some calculs :

Buying 21 BTC now ( at let's say 2000€) Will get you millionaire if the BTC reach 50k.
A really low prevision would reach 15k , and high expectations are going for 100.000.

No need to remember that having 21 BTC will also make you the holder  of 1/1.000.000 of the Bitcoins that will ever exist.

And erm, yeah no , I don't have (yet) 21 BTC if you are asking.

Edit : well this is my 21st post on the forum.
5  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] [EVE Online ISK] on: May 23, 2017, 08:05:47 PM
Hello everyone !

Here I am to sell my ISK for BTC.

The prices are :
- 0.0045 BTC per 1Billion ISK
-So it does 0.135 BTC for all the 30 Billions ISK I have

If you want an escrow with some trusted members I'm totally ok but this is at your own costs. If you want more precision on the transaction, please send me a private message.

For those involved in EVE Online , here is some background of mine and how I got my money (I can give more details in private upon request):
Quote
I'm a long life EVE Online player (2006) , lived the first Titan doomsday, the rise and fall of BoB , The Hulkageddon. But time has passed and I've moved to other things.
While I was mainly a PVP player I always loved to trade : I was buying expensive itsems at Jita and selling them 15% higher in Hek , a secondary hub. The route was like impossible to do via relugar stargates with sometimes 15 Billions valued in cargo. So I had my Jump freigher to jump at one system from the secondary Hub.
6  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Can a Ledger wallet incorporate the private key of physical Bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2017, 08:22:03 PM
Hi ! and sorry if that question might be silly , but I'm still strugling to understand if a Ledger wallet could display the amount of a said funded coin ? And possibly control the transactions between it ?

Sorry but I'm still new in this world...
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Any device to know the amount of BTC of a certain public address ? on: May 17, 2017, 07:55:39 PM
Hi !

I came accross some website that offer a service to know the number of BTC from a public address , that's great , but I would like to know if there are other ways to easily knowing how much value a particular public address is holding.

If I'm asking this is because I'm planning to buy physical Bitcoins, but still struggle to see how to verify how many BTC it is funded.

Thank you in advance for any clarifications  Kiss
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Political spectrum of BTC users. on: March 04, 2017, 11:54:38 AM
Hi !

I know every part of the spectrum is accounted by bitcoin users, but I always been wondering if some part of it is over-represented.

For some of you unfamiliar with the political compass, here is a picture :

And here is a test to locate you in the spectrum : https://www.politicalcompass.org/test

Personally I'm a left libertarian and see the crypto currencies as the best alternative to the current capitalistic model. I'm not a day to day trader but more a holder.

Note : Please avoid every other political discussion, we are not here to judge peoples political view  Cheesy
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / "BTC Will do to banks what Email did to the postal industry" on: March 04, 2017, 11:45:30 AM
 Full quote :

Hey !

I would like to have your opinions on this quote. I don't think this is implying that banks will fail and disapear ( the postal industry is still running well ) but banks will have to adapt to crypto currencies. What will be their plan to not be overwhelmed by Bitcoins and altcoins ? Do they take it as a serious treat ?

Thanks in advance for all your opinions guys  Grin
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Could the Bitcoin be seen as a collectible item ? on: February 28, 2017, 06:13:27 PM
Hi !

One of the main differences between BTC and traditional money is that the number of coins is limited. As far as I can remember there can only be 21M minus the ones lost forever.

So ,am I the only one to percieve the BTC not mainly for the transaction and payement purpose, but more like a collectible item that will innevitably take value with time ?

Sorry if it sounds silly But i'm still new in the cryto money world  Cheesy
11  Economy / Economics / Would a global disaster increase or decrease the Bitcoin value ? on: February 25, 2017, 07:01:51 PM
Hi ! First message here.

If a global disaster would happen on earth ( And I somehow don't wish it ) Would the value increase or decrease ?

I'm not talking about solar flares or EMP. But more like big wars or great natural disaster.

What are your opinions on the subject ?  Cheesy
