1  Bitcoin / Legal / CME derivatives contract on: November 04, 2017, 12:28:32 AM
Derivatives giant CME have proposed contracts with BTC platforms.
We are waiting for a decision from the SEC. We all know this could be a major step for BTC, and the first of many steps.
Can somebody please tell me.

Where do I go to learn of the SEC decision first off? I want to learn about this ASAP.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BTC Cash transaction time. on: November 03, 2017, 11:35:16 AM
I sent my newly acquired BTH to  trading platform for exchange.
Given the exchange was asking for 20 confirmations it took about 4 hrs for  transactions to be completed.

Has anyone else made this observation?

United Emerates is the hub of middle eastern banking.

Looks like the middle east is catching on to btc.

For those of you who do not know. Muhammad speccified that charities help orphanes and donate to Jihad. This is what they really mean by donate to 'charities'. Known as rendering 'alms'.

I can think of several jihad organizations that may be getting financial help.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Question about upcoming fork on: May 13, 2017, 06:48:10 AM
If a fork occures, then how will affect the consumer?
I mean will every peice of btc software have two pathways to send your btc?

For example, a Japanese person goes to purchase an item at the shop. Will the shop say ' send the btc via segwit'?

Will my ledgar wallet, once upgraded, have two paths to send btc along?

How will this fork affect the logistics of btc transfere? Is every btc wallet  going to have to upgrade?

Would you good people who understand this, please inform us, non techy poeple?

Thanks Peter

5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Ledger wallet and Electrum on: May 11, 2017, 11:53:20 AM
I like all smart investors keep my savings in cold storage. Leger Nano s.

So reading from our good forum I experimented and opened an electrum wallet on my tablet. I opened a watch only wallet using my deposit address. The same address i use weekly for savings.

I found my savings. Does this create a security risk? If anyone got hold of my address they could see what i have.?

Thanks Peter
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Segregated witness question on: May 09, 2017, 09:09:17 PM
We are all concerned about the btc dispute.
I read that the Segregated witness had a host of other improvements to protocol.

Could anyone please tell me what other improvements these are?

Thanks
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum wallet help on: March 25, 2017, 05:49:56 AM
I am reasonably new to wallets. I have an electrum wallet. I kept all the information, encrypted(1048) in an encrypted safe place.
I opened a second electrum wallet and as an experiment used the same seeds.

I put some btc in wallet one- but they are not in wallet 2.

I did this to show that the seeds could be used to retrieve my btc if I lost my computer.

What have I done wrong? Perhaps the public or private keys?

Peter
