1  Economy / Exchanges / LATOKEN and CoinW - Two Exchanges I Have Had Bad Experiences Using on: October 09, 2023, 02:23:25 PM

LATOKEN and CoinW are two exchanges that I have had bad experiences using.

I do not want to get into details, as I do not want the exchange owners or workers to identify me.

I recommend that anyone reading this stay away from these exchanges.

If things change in my experience with these exchanges, I will notify you on this thread.

I have had a lot of experiences on various exchanges so I know how to judge exchanges.

Thanks for your time reading this.

Please, if you have had bad experiences using these exchanges make your post below.

2  Other / Serious discussion / The most decentralized wallets and the most decentralized exchanges on: September 25, 2021, 03:34:43 PM

Please do not limit your responses only to Bitcoin.

As crypto crackdown grows stronger the world over, only the most decentralized wallets and exchanges will survive in a state of freedom.

I would like to see a list made of the most decentralized wallets and the most decentralized exchanges that have the best chance of surviving in a state of freedom in the months to come.

I am sure that many will enjoy and benefit from this thread.

Thank you for your responses.

3  Bitcoin / Electrum / URGENT - Does The Payment Request Expire Or The Address Itself? on: March 11, 2021, 06:22:55 PM

Someone with whom I am in contact, and is not a member here, asked me to ask this question on the forum here and get an answer that will solve it for him:

He generated a new address in his Electrum wallet about 12 hours ago and then went to his Poloniex account and requested a BTC transfer to that address not knowing that Poloniex is now taking up to 24 hours to process withdrawal transactions.

So after he clicks on receive on his Electrum wallet, he sees what is in his wallet, and also a pending transaction is showing. I understand from what he wrote to me that the Electrum wallet gives him a message that the address or payment request ( he made about 12 hours ago ) expires in about 12 hours.

When he investigated withdrawal problems at Poloniex they tell their members not to use expiring addresses as the funds could be lost. But he did not want to create an expiring address with Electrum and he did not know that Poloniex can take up to 24 hours to process withdrawals.

Is this person standing in deep horse crap by being in danger of losing the BTC that may not be sent in time to his expiring electrum BTC address?

Do electrum addresses expire and the BTC sent to them after 24 hours is lost?

What can I tell him so he can act in time and save his BTC if need be?

Thank you.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What Crypto Coin Does Ron Paul Think Is The New Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2019, 07:34:23 PM

What crypto is he going to talk about? Let us identify it before the talk. Thanks for all who contribute on this thread.

Guys, let us put our heads together and identify the Crypto that Ron Paul is going to be talking about with editor Steve Sjuggerud.

The text below was modified by me so I would not commit plagiarism, but if this text is old and is being reused by the advertisers, then the coin that is going to be discussed,
may be over a penny or more and may not still be under a penny. But if they updated the text, then the crypto is still under a penny. It all depends on what they did in this regard. To keep the crypto from being searched out and identified, they could be using an old price for the crypto in their advertisement?

This crypto could be the Ripple crypto XRP?  Or, could it be a different one?

Here is a rework of something that was just sent in an advertisement that came by email:

On November 20th, 12-term U.S. Congressman Ron Paul, who acquired his first bitcoin some weeks ago, will be chatting about the "NEXT BITCOIN."

It's a new crypto that reportedly is trading for less than a penny right now, which one crypto expert predicts will shortly become the "reserve currency" of the blockchain.

Supposedly, it could soon disrupt the biggest companies in America... and transform the way we shop, eat, interact online, and more.

It also could possibly cause the end of Uber, eBay, PayPal and more.

You can listen to this talk by going through the process found on this web page:
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Importing Private Key From Dash Core Into Dash Electrum Wallet on: September 05, 2019, 04:37:05 AM

Can someone give me ABC instructions about how I extract the private key from the Dash Core Wallet and import it to the Dash Electrum wallet?

If I obtain it from the .dat file, what program do I use to open that file and is the private key easy to find in the .dat file?

In other words, what is the quickest way to eliminate the coins in a DASH core wallet, that is not working, and make them show up in a new Dash electrum wallet?

6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Easy Wallet For STEEM - Is It Possible To Find One? on: January 18, 2019, 09:25:42 PM

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Teeka Tiwari's and Palm Beach Research Group's Crypto Income Quarterly on: December 24, 2018, 04:57:53 AM
Anyone here subscribing to the new Crypto Income Quarterly put out by the Palm Beach Research Group headed up by Teeka Tiwari?

If so, how do you like what they gave you so far?

I have not subscribed, but the service gives you alt coins that generate annual incomes between 5% and 25% per year.

I am not advertising this service of course, but would like to chat with several people who have signed up already.

I am sure everyone could find the same cryptos by researching the Internet to find them.

Thank you for your feedback.

8  Other / Serious discussion / Will IRS Tax Audits Increase Because People Reported Bitcoin & Crypto Gains? on: November 15, 2018, 11:37:56 PM
Dear Global Protection:

You are Australian, right? If so, please post this using your bitcoin talk username.

I am from the U.S. so I want you to post this because you are Australian and will not get into trouble with I.R.S.

Sincerely,   David

P.S. Anyone who reads this message below, I ask you to take this message below to other forums and blogs so it gets posted there also. Thank you.

So here is what David wants me to post here on forum:

If you reported your cryptocurrency and bitcoin gains to the I.R.S. and you got audited, please let others hear about it on

Those who report their bitcoin or crypto currency gains or losses on their tax forms, should be rewarded for doing so and not penalized with an additional tax audit.

Because some think an audit risk will increase if a person reports their bitcoin or crypto gains or losses on their tax returns, a thread should be created on forum to let everyone know.

Those who report should not be penalized with an audit. The I.R.S. should spend their time looking for those who do not report instead of examining those who do report their gains to the tax authorities.

I am asking people to report on the thread you create, about if they got audited from the Internal Revenue Service or not after they reported their bitcoin or cryptocurrency income or gains on their 1040 and schedules or forms.

The I.R.S. will be less likely to go after those people who report their bitcoin and crypto currency earnings or gains if they know that people who are being audited by the I.R.S. are announcing that fact to other U.S. citizens who are trying to decide whether to report to the I.R.S. or not.

If we hear that quite a few people who reported their crypto gains or bitcoin gains on their 1040 tax forms and schedules, got audited, then maybe the I.R.S. will see that and stop auditing those who report and pay their bitcoin and cryptocurrency taxes to the United States Treasury.

The I.R.S. needs to find and go after those who do not report and do not pay, instead of auditing the good people who are compliant.

If you reported and did not get audited by the IRS please tell us also." (unquote of David's message)

11  Bitcoin / Electrum / Obtaining The Private Key For Each Address In The Electrum Wallet on: April 18, 2018, 07:52:00 PM

Let's say that three addresses are holding coins in my Electrum wallet.

Each of those addresses have their own private key.

How can I obtain the private key for each of those three addresses?

What are the ABC instructions for obtaining those private keys?

I know all about the seed word phrase and these questions are not about that.

Thank you,

18  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum LTC Wallet Synchronizing Time Span on: December 30, 2017, 05:55:15 PM
I downloaded the Electrum wallet and the green light in the lower right hand corner was on.

I closed Electrum and after I brought it back up to check the transfer I sent to it, it is taking a long long time to synchronize.

How long does it usually take to synchronize so a person can view their balance?

What happens during the synchronization time period?

Thanks,  G.P.

20  Other / Politics & Society / URGENT: Secure Your Freedom To Keep Investing In CryptoCurrencies on: December 02, 2017, 06:25:34 PM
I found this posted on another forum, and so am sending it here for people to act on quickly.

Please send this to other forums, blogs, and to your email list quickly. Everyone must help. Thanks.

Act Now: Save Net Neutrality

By December 14th the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will be voting on whether to reverse Net Neutrality rules. These rules protect small businesses and the right for all Americans to free speech. We’re all affected, so we hope you’ll join us in our battle for a free and open Internet, and make your voice heard today.

What are the implications if Net Neutrality rules are reversed?

•   Censorship and blocking of websites, apps, and services for any reason without transparency or accountability and I imagine this is one way they could close down crypto currency websites and exchanges in America.
•   Charging Internet users extra fees just to access sites or streaming services
•   Demanding payments from small business, video creators, musicians, and online services just to reach an audience
•   Slowing internet speeds to a crawl on any platform that doesn’t pay up

Why be so passionate about Net Neutrality?

These rules are so important to us because they affect many freedom loving people such as small businesses and entrepreneurs, so these are the ones who will feel the impact most if Net Neutrality rules are reversed.

By rolling back the rules, the FCC is threatening the ability for anyone to start a business and have their voices heard. Also, broadband providers like Comcast and AT&T will be let off from adhering to basic consumer protection laws. We strongly believe that this action by the FCC is fundamentally wrong.

What can I do?

Act today! The vote is coming up any day now, so time is of the essence. If you value an open Internet and support small businesses and entrepreneurs, please:

Sign the White House petition:
Call 1-202-418-1000 to reach the voicemail of the Chairman of the FCC and say you oppose the repeal of Net Neutrality. It took 12 seconds.

Call and write to your local lawmakers today to let them know that open Internet rules need to stay.
Forward this message by email far and wide.

We can stop the FCC and save Net Neutrality but only if we all write and call Congress now……
