201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Crawford vs Khan on: April 04, 2019, 03:55:03 AM
Terrence Crawford vs Amir Khan on April 20
Venue: Madison Square Garden (MSG)

Crawford will defend this WBO 147 lbs title against Khan. It's a good match up but Crawford has the tools to beat Amir though. Amir Khan is a great fighter, but I think he is no longer in his prime and Terrence is riding high and considered to be the pound for pound best fighter right now. So I will go on Crawford here, maybe 10 rounds or less.

202  Other / Beginners & Help / Another phishing site on: March 31, 2019, 03:28:31 AM
I was doing a follow up investigation on merit abusers I caught Merit Abuse?. So I just copy a address from one of those suspected abusers and search on Google.

Weird, I was quite surprised to see the result, so I click on that link and Lo and Behold:

It was a exact copy of this forum. So I headed to Google's report page and submit this one as a bitcointalk phishing site. So again, just another warning to check everything before you login. Or added it in your /etc/hosts so that your computer won't access that site as a safe measure.

Edit: Those Accounts have been tagged by Lauda already.
203  Economy / Exchanges / Bithumb Hacked on: March 30, 2019, 02:02:48 PM
Bithumb reported that they've been hacked,

South Korean crypto exchange Bithumb has had around $13 million in the EOS cryptocurrency stolen in a hack it suspects was an insider job.

The company confirmed in statement on Saturday that it first spotted an “abnormal withdrawal” of the cryptocurrency through its monitoring system at 22:00 Korean time (13:00 UTC) on Friday, March 29.

The exchange suspended asset withdrawals and deposits on the platform after noticing the breach.

Ok here we go again, when we are about to take off, another bad incident came in. Although EOS is stolen and not Bitcoin. It says it's a inside job, so let's see how big the extend of this damage is to the whole crypto sphere.

What are your thoughts?
204  Economy / Reputation / Merit Abuse? on: March 29, 2019, 07:20:21 AM
Just going my usual route of posting and going around the forum but something caught my attention.

First time that I've seen someone receiving/giving a merit to a signature campaign application.  Grin

And as I looked closer to the account, and as you can see, he applied at Hhampuz campaigns which requires merit in the last 120 days. So he either buy merits somewhere or those two accounts who just gave him merit is his alt so that he can qualify in BestMixer Signature (But I'm sure he will not be accepted by Hhampuz, anyways).

Accounts in question/connected:

Xetonica -

What do you guys think? If anyone can connect their account please be my guest.  Grin
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Laser-etching a Cold Storage Coin on: March 28, 2019, 05:42:18 AM
Anyone seen this video?

I was amazed and maybe this could be the next generation of cold storage. It was strange that the video was uploaded in 2017, maybe I was just late seeing it. Anyways, just wanted to share it to everyone in the community and maybe they can have an idea (maybe engraving our seed or private key).  Grin
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / is now accepting Bitcoin on: March 23, 2019, 04:24:32 AM
I don't know if there are a lot of bitcoin enthusiast who are also into collecting bank notes all over the globe. If there is one then I'm happy to say that just started accepting bitcoin as well.

They ditch Paypal, and then replace it with Bitcoin.  Grin

It will go to the usual payment processor Bitpay upon checking out.

207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / ‘Bitcoin Is Not Money’ Because We Cannot Print It – Banks on: March 20, 2019, 04:36:07 PM
‘Bitcoin Is Not Money’ Because We Cannot Print It – Banks

“Bitcoin is not money”, the European Central Bank published a statement regarding bitcoin as not being a monetary asset. These words from the bank are immensely harsh for the crypto community. The crypto analyst and investor, Joseph Young suggests that the bank has released the statement as per the crypto assets being unprintable. Though this is an absurd manner to qualify a monetary asset as ‘money’, the bank does praise the technology in the working behind bitcoin. The technology, being the entire crypto protocols, most specifically, decentralization is breakthrough and can make up for some decent projects in the future.

And yet another other attack, but seriously flaw argument coming from banks. But that's fine, hearing this kind of arguments make me think that they are really threaten by crypto and afraid that one day all of them will become obsolete, or least majority of people will go to crypto, specially bitcoin.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Another proof that cloud mining is a scam on: March 13, 2019, 08:05:19 PM

I really don't understand, it's already 2019 and people are still believing that cloud mining is still one way to earn and the best way to invest your money??? *face-palm*..

92233720368.54277039 BTC?  Is that UINT64_MAX, I wonder?

Strange block 74638. It causes a out Value:92233720368.54(7ffffffffff85ee0).

But the good thing about the bug is, in just a matter of hours, Satoshi is already up to the challenge and fixed it with a new release. Proving that in it's early years, bitcoin was not flawless but everyone was really somewhat very active and every flaw was reported and fixed right away by Satoshi himself. I really love to read earlier post when this community was very close knit and of course spammers are non-existent. Grin
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Enjin [ENJ] Coin Gains 400% in a Fortnight as Samsung Creates Euphoria in the Cr on: March 08, 2019, 08:08:16 AM
Anyone joined the hype?

Enjin [ENJ] Coin Gains 400% in a Fortnight as Samsung Creates Euphoria in the Cryptocurrency Market

The South Korean multinational conglomerate, Samsung has created mass hysteria in the cryptocurrency market. Samsung released its Galaxy S10 flagship smartphone with an inbuilt cryptocurrency wallet for cold and hot storage of cryptocurrencies.

The details of the inbuilt wallet were not specified at the time of the release. However, the cryptocurrencies excepted to be supported on the platform were Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ejin (ENJ) and Comee, a blockchain based social media platform.

211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Good News Entrepreneurs: Plattsburgh Finally Lifts its Ban on Crypto Mining on: March 01, 2019, 07:09:43 AM
Last year, Plattsburgh has become the first city in the US to ban cryptocurrency mining,

Plattsburgh, New York, has become the first city in the US to ban cryptocurrency mining in the city for the next 18 months. The city council unanimously voted to impose the ban at a council meeting last night, and the mayor’s office states that the purpose of the law is to consider “regulations before commercial cryptocurrency mining operations results in irreversible change to the character and direction of the city.”

However, the city council voted 5-1, lifting the ban.

Plattsburgh, NY, the first city in the US to ban cryptocurrency mining, has finally lifted its one-year-long block on crypto mining operations.

So let's see if this will bring a influx on miners on that city, do you think miners will take advantage of this situation and go full mining on that city again?
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Did Ripple pay Coinbase to get XRP listed? on: February 27, 2019, 09:49:37 PM
Very interesting:

Rumors are circulating that California-based cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase, supposedly violated its very own listing policies in order to include XRP in its trading portfolio.

On February 25, Chepicap reported that according to the Coinbase blog, XRP will soon be available for trading on Coinbase Pro.

Read more: It is official! XRP is launching on Coinbase Pro

However, rumors are now circulating that claim that Coinbase Pro has breached its very own listing policies in order to include XRP in its trading portfolio.

According to, before Coinbase takes the step to listing a new cryptocurrency asset, it takes in consideration the level of team ownership.

I'm not aware that XRP is not listed on their Coinbase Pro that's why I was surprised to read this news. It did pumped XRP around 10% though after the news. The argument is that Coinbase Pro takes into account the level of team ownership, which is very questionable since XRP holds around 60% of the supply. Coinbase as per "The ownership stake retained by the team is a minority stake.". What's your take on this? Did they violated their own policy here or did they accept a paid listing here? Share your thoughts.

214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 1000 Bitcoin: The World's Most Expensive Prius on: February 24, 2019, 07:28:15 AM

Here is a video of a guy who bought Toyota Prius back in 2013 with 1000 BTC. If you could have waited for a bit, specially in 2017, we could have been a Lambo. Although in the video you will see the Prius side by side with his Lambo so I think this guy really did make a lot of money in bitcoin in 2017 as well. He also talk about the lessons he learn from investing in bitcoin.  Grin
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Chainalysis Secures $30M: Despite Bitcoin Crash, Crypto Venture Money Still Flow on: February 16, 2019, 05:21:24 AM
Chainalysis Secures $30M: Despite Bitcoin Crash, Crypto Venture Money Still Flowing

But interestingly, it seems that the crash in the Bitcoin price hasn’t deterred opportunities. Even in trying times, money from ambitious venture capitalists and visionaries alike have continued to rush into this space, no holds barred.

In fact, in a press release issued Tuesday, Chainalysis divulged that it had scored over $30 million in funding for its Series B round, led by Accel, a Palo Alto-based venture group that also has investments in Circle.

With this influx of funding, the analytics unit has decided to bolster its team. The company currently has 30 open roles, including stints ranging from the vice president of finance to the team lead for cybercrimes. Although the company has its primary offices in New York, many of the new positions are located in London and Copenhagen, the former of which is where Chainalysis is looking to double its headcount.

So it looks like another round of funds made it to Chainalysis. I'm sure that there's no effect in the price, but the impact will be huge behind the scene when exchanges or even private individual can use their services to help find and curb crypto related crimes.

Any thoughts about other net positive effects of Chainalysis having deep pockets now?
216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Bitcoin Trading In Venezuela Keeps Setting New Records on: February 14, 2019, 06:00:21 AM

Peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading volumes in Venezuela have hit all-time highs amid escalating economic and political crises.

Last week, Bitcoin broke another record in terms of trading volume in Venezuela. The latest spike confirms that Venezuelans choose Bitcoin instead of their national currency as a store of value amidst shocking hyperinflation and rising political uncertainty.

As we all know that bitcoin is really a safe haven for Venezuelans specially in the last couple of years and we can say that it did help them to survive the economic turmoil. But it's not done yet because Maduro doesn't want to step down does why bitcoin is setting new records in the country. Venezuela's crisis is one use case how bitcoin or crypto has really help people in times of financial trouble.

217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Union Bank of the Philippines Launching Cryptocurrency ATM on: February 10, 2019, 03:40:44 AM
Union Bank of the Philippines Launching Cryptocurrency ATM

One of the largest banks in the Philippines is reportedly launching a two-way cryptocurrency ATM that is in compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ specifications. In the Philippines, the central bank regulates cryptocurrencies “when used for delivery of financial services, particularly, for payments and remittances.”

Another compelling moved that the Philippines is really working hard and getting closer to adopt bitcoin as one of the biggest bank in the country is launching a crypto ATM. Union Bank seems to be spearheading this, and as far as I can remember this bank is one of the first if not the first to integrate Paypal as well in the country. So let's see how it goes.
218  Economy / Exchanges / Crypto Exchange QuadrigaCX Missing $145 Mln After Death of Founder on: February 02, 2019, 02:44:49 PM
Worst possible scenario for traders who have funds in QuadrigaCX as the founder is dead:

The exchange kept most its assets in offline storage systems called cold wallets, which are secured by digital security keys in order to protect them from hacking and theft. Cotten was solely responsible for the wallets and corresponding keys, which the company has been trying to find after his passing.

Its seems that the owner has access to funds alone. And with his death, there's no one besides him that can unlock it. I guess this is another lessons learn for crypto owners to implement multi-signature (correct me I'm if wrong), and for traders to just keep small amounts in a exchange for trading purposes only so that in a event of a hack and this time a death of the crypto exchange founder itself would not put your funds at risk.
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Khabib and Conor fines and suspensions on: January 31, 2019, 04:53:24 PM
This is a follow up as to what had happened when this two met in the ring a couple of months ago. We all know that Khabib went after Conor's team after he won the fight.

Khabib Nurmagomedov receives nine-month suspension, $500K fine for role in UFC 229 brawl

On Tuesday’s meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission, a five-member committee voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see Nurmagomedov receive a nine-month suspension and a $500,000 fine for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. The suspension can be reduced by up to three months pending Nurmagomedov’s participation in an anti-bullying public service announcement that must be approved by the NAC.

Conor McGregor receives six-month suspension, fined $50,000 for role in UFC 229 brawl
Conor McGregor will be eligible for his return to the Octagon on April 6 having received a six-month suspension for his role on the UFC 229 post-fight fracas.

On Tuesday, five members of the National Athletic Commission voted in favor of a settlement agreement that will see McGregor fined $50,000 and receive a six-month suspension. McGregor’s suspension will be retroactive to Oct. 6, 2018, allowing him to compete again by Apr. 6.

Do you think it's fair that Khabib will be fined $500K + suspension? His $2 mil purse is still withheld up to now. Conor received $50K fined only. Or is this fair since Khabib is the one who started all this issue?

220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Philippines' PH Resorts Group gets regulatory nod for $350 million share offerin on: January 26, 2019, 01:45:07 AM
Anyone from the Philippines aware of this news?

MANILA (Reuters) - The Philippine corporate regulator approved PH Resorts Group Holdings Inc's <PHR.PS> share offering to raise up to 18.5 billion pesos (268 million pounds) to fund the integrated casino builder's projects outside the capital, Manila.

The Philippines is one of Asia's fastest-growing gambling markets, benefiting from the influx of foreign high rollers and restrictive gaming policies in neighbouring countries.

The Securities and Exchange Commission said in a notice issued on Thursday it has given PH Resorts the green light to sell as much as 2.05 billion shares at a maximum price of 9 pesos apiece.

Proceeds from the share sale will fund the construction of a $200-million integrated casino-resort in a former U.S. military base north of the capital, and a $300-million megacasino in central Philippines, the company said in a regulatory filing.

I thought that the current administration doesn't like gambling at all? Or are they contradicting themselves and trying to bring Philippines to rival its neigbor Macau?

@nutildah - it will probably near your place.  Grin
