1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Can i power a GPU (3060ti) using a MOLEX to 8-Pin PCIE adapter? on: January 08, 2021, 06:18:47 AM
So it's time to turn on my rig again but i've run out of working PSUs.

I'm looking to use a molex to 8-pin PCIE adapter like this one in the image below.
If the 3060ti only consumes around 120-150w undervolted do you guys think it's safe to use this?

2  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] $80 HelloFresh Giftcard for only $10 - HelloFresh America's #1 Meal Kit on: November 29, 2020, 05:30:02 AM
I got an $80 off giftcard from a computer parts order, please see picture of actual card below. It has a code you can use on the HelloFresh website to get $80 off your first order.

I'm selling only for $20 $10 as I can't use because i'm no longer in the US. I got it just last week (nov. 23). I will accept BTC or ETH payment.

Actual image:

The deal gets you a total of $80 off, which works out to $30 off your first and second boxes and $10 off your third and fourth boxes. (You'll also get free shipping on your first box, a $3.99 savings.

2015MHz game clock / 2250MHz boost clock
128MB Infinity Cache + 16GB GDDR6

Radeon RX 6800 XT, available November 18th, MSRP of $649

72 compute units

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / New NVIDIA Geforce RTX 30 series GPUs on: August 31, 2020, 09:04:38 AM
The new Nvidia 30 series GPU specs have been confirmed. Not sure if there are any leaks as to hashing power, but are you guys buying? To mine with?

RTX 3090
5248 cores
19.5 gbps

RTX 3080
4352 cores
19 gbps

It's been said time again but i feel like it's important to reiterate: Do your research - don't get into mining because of the hype.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone have experience using Brave browser to earn BAT tokens? on: October 07, 2019, 08:42:50 AM
I've been seeing some ads lately advertising that you can earn around $50-100 USD in BAT tokens per month by simply using the Brave browser. Does anyone have any experience and is there any truth to this ad?

I tried looking at their website but couldn't find much info (other than referral bonuses) so i'm thinking it's too good to be true.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Any home-based solar powered mining operations still running? on: October 04, 2019, 02:09:36 AM
This sub forum has been awfully compared to 2017, and with bitcoin dominance at a high, understandably so.

Just wondering if there are any of you who have installed solar panels to augment mining profitability and how has that worked for you? I know the numbers are there but was hoping to get first hand qualitative info on experiences whether or not it's worth it and if it's been profitable for you.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Buying P106 mining cards and driver compatibility on: June 24, 2019, 06:01:54 AM
Recently some P106 mining cards have gone up for sale locally for only $55 (sale!).

I'm thinking of buying a few pieces but my concern is will they work with newer NVIDIA drivers? Specifically NVIDIA driver versions 400+?
If i remember correctly the P106 mining drivers were only using NVIDIA driver version 380-391.

Can't find any answers from google but does anyone have any experience making these work (specifically adjusting clock/power settings with newer drivers)?
I don't want to downgrade drivers because i'm also mining with some new RTX 2060s and likely these need the new NVIDIA drivers.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Original BIOS for Sapphire Nitro (Non-plus) RX 470 4GB Samsung Memory on: July 31, 2018, 05:06:39 AM
I'm planning to hedge value and sell some of my RX470s to gamers, individually. They usually ask for the stock bios, but my backups have been corrupted.

I've tried to search online but the ones at techpowerup or anoraks aren't compatible because the 4GB ones are Nitro+ while mine are Non+ (i keep getting BSOD when i try to boot/install drivers with other BIOSES).

Does anybody still have the original BIOS for a Sapphire Nitro (Non-plus) RX 470 4GB Samsung Memory? I would greatly appreciate a merit-worthy post.

9  Economy / Economics / I almost lost my rock solid regular job because of crypto on: May 30, 2018, 11:54:02 AM
Like the title says, i almost lost my regular job as a software developer today when my boss reviewed my work. The job has been able to economically provide a comfortable life for me and losing it would really be a big hit to my income. I almost lost it because i spent so much time learning about everything crypto (mining, trading, bounties, etc.).

Has anyone else experienced this? I just feel pretty lucky I was given another chance and want to remind other people that having a regular job is much better than relying on the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Make sure you prioritize your work!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / More interesting news and discussions about altcoins on: May 24, 2018, 07:36:57 AM
I love this forum but it seems like the topics discussed on this board specifically are all repetitive questions and wild opinions. I've found that is a much better place for latest news and updates on altcoins.

Just sharing for those who may find it useful.
11  Other / Meta / Anyone notice posts not being counted? on: April 22, 2018, 08:29:05 AM
Never had this problem before but it seems like my post count stopped increasing when posting in the Altcoin (Mining) section.

After some digging i found that if you'll check my "lasts posts" page you will notice on page 47 there is a count of total 924 posts but as of this writing my post count is only displayed as 922.

Anyone experiencing the same issue?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Power efficiency and riserless motherboards on: April 19, 2018, 08:29:49 AM
Anyone have any idea if it is more power efficient to run a riserless motherboard like Onda or Octominer?

I understand density is a consideration because you can put more GPUs on a 19-GPU ASUS, but let's say I only need to run 8-GPUs.

Which would be more power efficient:

A. Onda
B. Octominer
C. ASUS mining expert
D. Asrock H110+ pro
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Server PSU popped. Is it now a paper weight? on: March 22, 2018, 11:46:48 PM
So my server PSU woke me up with a loud pop last night. When i got to the rig it smelled burnt. It was one of my DELL 1400w server PSUs which was running at a load of 1000w.

Probably just because of poor refurbished quality but anyway, the breakout board won't light up anymore but none of the cables or the PSU case look burnt. I guess something just popped inside. My question is can this be repaired or do some people buy these kinds of PSUs? Or am i stuck with using this as a paper with or souvenir? What have you guys done with stuff like these?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Would anyone be interested in a another useless ICO? 100% guaranteed token value on: March 05, 2018, 06:28:47 AM
So are people still interested in altcoin ICOs?
Does honesty warrant any merit for the developer?

An interesting point of discussion would be the ICO linked below:

Inspired by the useless ethereum ICO. 100% guaranteed token value.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin Discussion Topic Review and sMerit Giveaway on: March 01, 2018, 02:20:45 AM
Not sure this is the right place to put this thread, but I will be giving out my sMerit, based on topics and posts in the ALTCOIN discussion forum.

How will this work?
- I expect users to post here links to topics or posts, that are actually good points for discussions instead of pumps, dumps, FUD, and shills. Simply put, if I like what I read I will of course participate in the discussion, and award my sMerit points.

- This will be a self moderated thread, so I will delete posts that I consider to be spam.

- I will only keep this thread active as long as I have sMerit points to give, so if I ever run out of sMerit I will lock the thread until I can gather some more.

Why am I doing this?
- I'm running this service out of convenience.
- It will be a lot easier for me (and hopefully others as well) to keep track of good quality discussions.

Basically, thats it. Have a great day everyone.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ordering GPUs online and auto-notify on: January 12, 2018, 01:17:04 AM
Has anyone had luck with ordering GPUs online lately? I'm actually subscribed to the auto-notify feature of Newegg and Amazon and i'm always actively checking my email for restocking updates. The problem is even if i see the auto-notification within 30 minutes of receiving the email, when i click the link to the product its still always out-of-stock or unavailable.

Any tips? Do i need a bot/script just to watch for restock / buying GPUs?
19  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] $30 voucher for HelloFresh healthy meals for only $5 (have 2 pieces) on: December 01, 2017, 01:35:12 PM
Hi everyone, I have a HelloFresh ( voucher worth $30 i'd like to sell (i have 2 pcs of $30 voucher cards). I'm just not interested in special food and would rather have bitcoin. Here is a pic of the discount card with the coupon code blacked out:

You can check their website, they sell real meals with chicken and pork, and delivery globally.

I'll be selling it for only $5 worth of bitcoin each. If buyer wants escrow he/she will arrange it himself/herself. Otherwise we just go bitcoin first.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Ordering refurbished server PSUs? on: November 28, 2017, 03:13:08 PM
Lately i've been seeing some low down deals on refurbished PSUs that may be too hard to pass on. Does anyone have experience buying these online?
Would you also know of a good place where to buy PICO and breaktout board adapters? Like the ones on but cheaper  Wink
