Remember the fuss caused by one Thai exchange last year : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=264241.0The same exchange now restarts trading. https://bitcoin.co.th/news/ (sorry cant find permanent link to individual posts). Bitcoin Trading Re-Opened January 31, 2014 In a letter to Bitcoin Co. Ltd., Bank of Thailand has stated that, after further consideration, Bitcoin exchange operations do not fall under the scope of Ministry of Finance regulation, unless foreign currencies are also offered for exchange. Considering that Bitcoin Co. Ltd. only offers Bitcoin trades using Thai Baht and operates only within Thailand, we will restart our trading operations. Over the next few weeks we will be re-checking our trading systems; which have been offline for the past months, and hope to be fully operational shortly. Bank of Thailand letter: Download original scan (PDF)I don't read Thai so cant know exactly whats in the letter....

Available for auction 10 Ztex 1.15y (licensed - a.k.a. clone) miners in hand. Each hashing at ~850 MH/s. I have been hashing with these without fuss for months. Terms:- 1. 10 Units available. 2. Starting bid : 0.1 BTC per board. 3. Reserve: 0.6 BTC per bord 4. BIN : 2 BTC per board 5. Auction Ends : September 3 00:00:00 UTC 2013 (forum clock decides) - no last moment extensions. 5. Escrow : (if needed) John K. Buyer pays escrow fee. 6. Shipping : From Thailand. I will pay for shipping sending by EMS if all 10 units goes to single buyer in same shipment. If you want another method then you need to pay the shipping costs.. (Just to play it safe, in case the delivery is to some obscure country where EMS asks for a ridiculous price, I reserve the right to decline bid, or ask for some extra shipping costs) 7. Package includes boards and power connectors only. You need to supply it with heatsinks, airflow and PSU. I can include the required 12V 5A power bricks, usb cables free of charge if buyer agrees to pay full shipping costs. You would still need to attach heatsinks + fans for cooling. All bids are binding. Do your ROI calculations before bidding. FPGA, unlike ASIC, has other uses also, so they potentially hold resale value. Bid format :- 2@0.5 Means you are bidding for 2 units at 0.5 BTC each for a total of 1 BTC.

I want to trade 10 licensed Ztex 1.15y for any ASIC device of comparable hashrate.
Each Ztex board does ~850 MH/s . In return for 10 boards, i would like fully functional in-hand ASIC device(s) with demonstrated capacity of at-least 10GH/s at 30C ambient.
FPGAs will continue holding some value long after their usability with Bitcoins, but the same is not true for ASICs...
Shipping: Both parties pay their own shipping expenses over mutually agreed shipping methods. Escrow: If needed, both parties will deposit an agreed amount with John K escrow and get it back if trade completes successfully. Each party pays their own escrow fee. I am open for no escrow if the trader is legit and has high rep. Location of my hardware: Thailand
If interested please post or PM the ASIC device(s) you would like to swap.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I will ship only the board, you need to find heatsink (either one with fan attached or push air thru outside fan) and 12v PSU. I have these, but those power bricks are bulky and cost peanuts. You could very easily source locally or use ATX (i include terminal connectors).

Say i need to power a 12V device using ATX PSU. And i have doubts that the wire will be able to support the current needed (i am sure that the PSU/rail can). Can i join in multiple +12v and ground wires into bundles to distribute resistance?
i.e. strip 2 yellow cables, and join them both to the +12v connector on my device, and 2 black cables to the ground lead on the device.
Which of following is true.
1. You dont know what ur talking abt ur gonna burn your house. 2. Its fine as long as you bundle up wires from the same bunch of cables. (Usually PSU has like 4 or 5 bundles of cables coming out) 3. Its fine as long as you bundle up wires from same ATX rail. 4. Doesn't matter. You can join up any wire from anywhere as long as its same color.
In other words, is it safe to join all the black cables to one place, and all the yellow cables to another place and distribute from there without needed any capacitors, resistors, etc ...

I want to sell my graphics card. purchased on April 9th this year. I paid equivalent of (342.611 USD) for it. This is the one with 3 fans, runs cool and relatively silent.
Working fine, no issues, only reason for sale is I needed the ATX PSU for other purpose and dont want to buy a new one. Also im not into scrypt mining, and this is the only GPU mining unit I have. For sha based coins, its really useless.
Never overclocked voltage. It mines scrypt @ > 650 kh/s @ ~71C at 25C ambient in case with cover open.
Most popular card currently for scrypt mining. Ill probably be willing to sell for 75% of current market price for new. That puts it at 2.18175 BTC.
I have the original box, crosover cable, molex to pcie power adapters (2 pcs).
Ships from Thailand. I will give you original invoice as well which has 1 y warranty. But if you want to RMA later for any reason you would probably need to deal with Thai distributor. Dunno, not my problem.
Shipping/Escrow buyer pays.
Just exploring what i can get here. If i get the 75% target then its convenient for me, otherwise finding buyer locally maybe headache.

I'm possibly interested in selling a few ZTEX 1.15y-like boards (100% Ztex 1.15y hardware and software compatible) as I need the money to buy some stuff. It's a shame having to sell some of them as I just got them not long ago. They mine stably at around 820-880MH/s depending on the cooling - I've been getting them mine nicely at about 840 each stacked together in the hot tropical weather here with a good fan pointed at them. I'm looking around 6 BTC per board only (no fans, heatsink, USB cable or power adapter) included to start your own mining. Please PM me if you're interested, and confirm your location so that I can calculate the shipping. I'm open to haggling though, so just PM me to ask. I have 11 boards, but only interested in selling a couple. Fan + heatsink + power brick + usb cable = 0.5 BTC extra and will possibly increase shipping cost. Escrow possible at buyers expense. Thanks, turtle83 (Post contents plagarized with John K's blessing) 10 units with raspberry pi on top. Happily hashing. The 11 th unit literally on my desktop. On this unit i am trying a different heatsink/fan which works better than the ones with the other 10 boards.

Just been playing with debian packaging system, made a few builds of cgminer for Debian. Raspbian (armhf binary for raspberry pi) : https://mega.co.nz/#!HdZWXaJL!f8Tq2Td275SK1Dkv0KiBYAQQuFN00vfsuL3v7_cIrsE Freenet users: http://127.0.0.1:8888/CHK@Tg1d463DWjpJ0xemBlgDnKEomNkycdZFuNa36ceYLyI,bG~Q8DdHdZ93PmHuDBcDANxa8P78Wth2Ze98yWqzpCU,AAMC--8/cgminer_3.5.0-1_armhf.debInstructions: sudo apt-get update #Make sure repos are up to date sudo dpkg -i cgminer_3.5.0-1_armhf.deb #May complain about missing dependencies, dont panic next step takes care of it sudo apt-get -f install #Installs the needed dependencies and then failed cgminer form above step. Ubuntu (raring) : launchpad. ppa:theturtle1983/mining . packages for raring should show up in there in 12 hours if the build was successful has binaries for Lucid thru Raring. Instructions: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:theturtle1983/mining sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install cgminer Cgminer is configured with following arguments --disable-opencl --disable-adl --enable-bflsc --enable-bitforce --enable-icarus --enable-modminer --enable-ztex --enable-avalon (Basically dissable GPU mining and enable all FPGA/ASIC) You can then run cgminer normally. sudo cgminer #arguments.... sudo is needed at the moment since currently no udev rules are being added. If you can add the rules for your devices then skip the sudo. TODOs:- #TODO: Description, etc (credit upstream) #TODO: Print cgminer tip address post install #TODO: Add in usb rules #TODO: Add in default config #TODO: Add init script (launch in screen). Launch on boot. start/stop/restart/status #TODO: Add some kind of web interface #TOTO: Perhaps some cli tools to get info from running instance #TODO: Do the same for bfgminer if people are insterested I built the raspbian package for personal use. Building on the pi takes for ever and I don't know how to cross compile. This is personal timesaver for next time i wanna install on raspi. Cuts few minutes to few seconds, and don't need to bloat production system with loads of -dev packages anymore.

Since theme of last 2 weeks have been orphans, I have an idea for an orphan friendly coin.
* 1 second between blocks * 25 coins per block * Retarget difficulty every 1024 blocks * Will premine for 5 days. (Unrelated: Accepting bribes from people who want in) * First 10,000 blocks get double reward. * Genesis block has reward of 1000 coins. Because its special.
Real innovation aspect: This coin wont use scrypt or sha256 like others... It uses good ol trusty MD5 !
The client app will be name orphanage.
Launch date : 5 days before public release.
More coins on way.
* Turtle Coin (TTL) - one block per day. * Troll Coin (TLC) - Orphaned blocks show up as immature for a random duration. * Spam Coin (SPC) - Each block entitles you to be recipient of some rich nigerian dude's inherentence. * Tortoise Coin (TSC) - Turtle coin fork with one block every 2 days. * AltCoin Coin (ACC) - Each new block found launches an alt coin.
Edit: Added ACC
