Elon Musk keeps talking about the subject and will attempt his own project, PRAVDA.

I have been working on a similar blockchain-based concept (still in early stages) since late last year. The main challenges for a project like this is to set up a trusted decentralized reputation/voting system or data aggregation point reputation system that pulls reputation/truth score data from a range of sources, then put that on an immutable blockchain and incentivize people to use it and share it. The main thing I see a project like this needs is protection from being easily corrupted, gamed or becoming centralized in the future. The second thing would be building awareness.

What do you guys think about the need for Decentralized News Media? How would you think it could actually work?

Patience, important, it is.

I launched a News Blog focused on Decentralized Apps, Cryptos & Blockchain a couple months ago, I've been updating posts virtually every day.... and it's now buzzing with activity!

Although we're only a couple of months in, the site is off to an exceptionally great start! Thus far I've published about 30 or so posts, have been building social media, the site traffic/serps/organic search is growing rapidly, UI/design is responsive mobile friendly and polished, site has a very short one word premium domain name and it's running on a fast Digital Ocean server. Recently made the first two sales for ICO related PR/banner advertising. I'm realizing in order to keep the momentum strong I'll need more hands on deck.

I am prepared to pay in BTC/Cryptocurrency for quality original content from the right writers and will consider additionally offering profit sharing/other opportunities to loyal & talented writers/vloggers.

I'm also interested in incentivizing a few non-experienced or time-poor writers to become part of the community, by regularly contributing their thoughts by commenting and discussing the various posts/articles in the comment section.
