Would you like these changes in Bitcoin Core? [1] Replace "µBTC" with "µBit", [2] replace "mBTC" with "mBit", and [3] switch to "µBit" as the default unit.
I know that we had a lot of discussion about units in the last days and many of us are already tired of discussing. However, apart from a lot of talk, nothing has happened yet. There was recently a proposal on reddit which suggested to use "µBit" in contexts of formal writing and official places: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/24rq1b/%C2%B5bit_proposal_%C2%B5bit_becomes_official_name_for_the/The reddit proposal tried to be a good compromise, so I thought there should be a poll about this. This poll is worded in a way to suggest concrete actions to the Bitcoin Core developers. Of course, the developers are independent and are not bound to this poll. However, from what I have read from them in the past, I'm pretty sure the developers would adopt a change if the community expresses a clear wish to do so. Personally I prefer another name for this unit, however I think that this change is an improvement over the current situation. The current situation is that Bitcoin Core calls the unit "µBTC" which is so long-winded that no one really uses it.

) Nachtrag:Ach verdammt!

It's easy: 1 Ƶ = 1 µBTC = 100 satoshi1 000 000 Ƶ = 1 BTCThere are so many names, they all mean the same: 1 Ƶ = 1 Ƶcoin = 1 Ƶbitcoin = 1 Ƶbit = 1 zed-bit = 1 zee-bit = 1 zibAnd all of them will be recognised equally, because they have the "Z" in common. Use, whatever rolls off your tongue best. It's a Ƶ: It's catchy, isn't it? But... why Z ? What does Z mean?We use Z, because Z means perfection. At first, you use A, as in FI AT, which is bound to fail. That's why you switch to B, as in Bitcoin, which is great; but there just aren't enough bitcoins for all of us. Therefore, you try m, as in millibit, which works, but no one can remember that word. Next stop is u, as in ubit, which also works. But, why u, and not me? Finally, skip ahead to the end of the alphabet, and you'll find the Z! Nothing comes after Z. Z is the ultimate letter of the alphabet. That's why we use Z. But... why not use "bit" ?A bit of what?

Die Marktkapitalisierung beträgt also ungefähr 3.96 Milliarden Euro.

Na was wohl, Bitcoin natürlich! Was haltet ihr davon?
