Can somebody check the price of Stellar Lumens (XML) in CoinTracking ?

It is reporting and calculating  Stellar Lumens at $ 0.10027480 USD which it's wrong.

It is at  $0.896227 USD  in CoinmarketCap.com at this time

Thanks and Regards,

I own XLM and TS is reporting a current price of 0.85980933
CoinmarketCap is showing $0.919704 at this time.

Congrats for the great product!
Cointracking app stop working (remains stuck on the logo page).

I guess this is related to the new iOS version; could you please check?
I also have IOS 11.2.1, but the CT app is working for me right now. It has been up and down the past couple of days, but it's up now. Hope that helps

I upgraded to the current version of the SIA-UI (v 1.3). I tried to update the wallet, but it eventually stops working and gives me the error: "Invalid Argument". Anybody know how to fix this?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Help on: December 08, 2017, 05:05:52 AM
Hi I sent 3k SIA form my wallet to Bitterex here is the trans ID 1a79a16a97247032b93643d5c35ade135b7941c9710120f9cdfbe959740133dc

Anyone know where my coins went?

Thank you!

Wendy

@Wendy,
You need to put in a support ticket to Bittrex. As the other fellow said, the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain. I had this same thing happen to me with Bittrex on another coin. Their support is  S L O W , so be prepared to wait at least a week for a response (in which they will likely ask you to reply if you still have the issue). Maddening.

Good luck!

@Coink Coink
I've read the entire thread and so far, two people have asked about how the staking rewards work, and so far silence from the "Head of Communications" at Cardano. So I'll ask again:

What protocol does ADA use to pay a Daealus wallet holder for having the wallet online?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2017, 02:17:24 AM
I went back to the exchanges I used and found where I sent Monero on two different occasions to the same address; one in May and another in July. I don't normally keep track of addresses, which means I would have had to log back into the wallet created in May to get the address to use in July. And no, unfortunately, the address doesn't agree with the one I get when I did the restore-deterministic-wallet. Is there a way to restore a wallet from the address or is the .keys route the only one?

Hehe, if you could restore a wallet just based on the address nobody would be able to hold any coins. It would be like spending money out of someone's bank account by just knowing their IBAN account number.

This means you had a different account back then and then by mistake you created another one and backed that up. Try to remember on which computer you used the GUI wallet, on which account on that computer, if you reinstalled the OS in the meantime.

Well, I didn't mean with JUST the address, but perhaps with an address and password. Anyway, I have not reinstalled the OS in recent memory, it was long enough ago that it was before the first purchase of XMR. I went to my oldest cloud back from July and it had the same address as all the other files. So... You are right. At some point, I apparently changed the mneumonic key to match the empty address. Live and learn. There goes the new Tesla Roadster! Thanks for you help.

@Dario @ Keven,
Okay, I got all the tax report errors to go away. Now I have a new question. The Capital Gains/Losses page shows that all the trades were short, when in fact they were all long. The profits seem correct. Why are they showing as Short trades?

Ahh! I was referring to the chart on the Dashboard page which shows all your combined hodlings.

i might choose to focus on increasing my crypto portofolio holdings in BTC terms. As by looking at a portfolio just in USD terms it might seem fine and be on the green, but actually it might have bled heavily in BTC terms..

@Silviu77
I have run into this exact issue. If you use the Realized and Unrealized page on CT, you can toggle it back and forth between USD and BTC. When you do that, it shows your P&L by USD or BTC and you may find exactly what you describe. I'm a pretty visual person, so I like to look at candlestick charts. To do that, I use https://www.tradingview.com  They have most cryptos priced in BTC and USD. They also list a ton of stocks from all over the world. The crypto listings are by exchange, so if you have a favorite exchange, you would probably want to pick that pair. They provide a free and a paid option. With the free option, you are able to create an account and maintain a watch list. I've never felt a need to get the features available with the paid subscription. I put a horizontal line on the chart at the price and time I buy or sell, which provides a very visual means of keeping score.

1. It was a gui wallet and yes, I did see funds.

2. There are a lot of .keys files on my computer, but they are all date-stamped with very current dates, And they have names that match the names I was creating. There is a very low chance any of them would contain funds.

4. I ran restore-deterministic-wallet and when it finished syncing, it produced the following:

Restore from specific blockchain height (optional, default 0),
or alternatively from specific date (YYYY-MM-DD):
Starting refresh...
Refresh done, blocks received: 1179028
Balance: 0.000000000000, unlocked balance: 0.000000000000
Background refresh thread started
[wallet 47tXd1]:

What I don't understand is that it says it received 1179028 blocks when the blockchain is currently over 1450000 blocks. Why would it not agree with current height since I started at block 0.

Do you know the wallet address you sent the monero to in May? If so, compare with current address.

I'm looking at the page for that enumerator but i can't seem to find it for the life of me..

Ahh! I was referring to the chart on the Dashboard page which shows all your combined hodlings.

You are right, it would be nice to see the thumbnail charts priced in BTC as well as USD (a toggle). That would be a feature request to Dario or Kevin.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinTracking - Profit/Loss Portfolio and Tax Reporting for Digital Currencies on: December 02, 2017, 06:45:28 AM

I wonder if there is any option/setting somewhere to show the 30 days trend chart in BTC instead ?

@Silviu77
There is a box at the top of the graph that shows "in USD". It has a enumerator (down arrow) to the right. Just click on that and select BTC instead of USD
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 02, 2017, 12:51:07 AM
1. When I type in rescan_bc, there are no transactions, just a zero balance.

2. I did the search for .keys and found a wallet from May, 2017, which is around the time I created the wallet. When I try to open that wallet, it opens with the password I had recorded for Monero.

3a. First, I noticed the following when I started Monerod.exe:
2017-11-30 22:40:59.290 [P2P7]  WARN    net.dns src/common/dns_utils.cpp:487    WARNING: no two valid MoneroPulse DNS checkpoint records were received

3b. This is a copy of the last line before I entered 'diff' and then the line following diff:
2017-11-30 22:44:39.681 [P2P7]  INFO    global  src/cryptonote_protocol/cryptonote_protocol_handler.inl:1521    SYNCHRONIZED OK
diff

4. Yes I still have the mnemonic code associated with the wallet created in May, 2017 as well as the password and name of the wallet.

1. So you type rescan_bc and you see the counter "Height: x / y" where y is the current height (BH from monerod diff output) and x goes from 1 to y, right?
And when it finishes scanning the blockchain (x reaches y) it displays this?
Refresh done, blocks received: ......
Balance: 0, unlocked balance: 0

If so, then it means this wallet never had any transactions, neither in nor out. Even if someone had stolen your funds, you would still see the amount coming in and then being transferred out. But since you don't see any transactions, it means you never transfered monero to this wallet.
Back in May when you transfered monero to your wallet, did you see the amount in your wallet? Was it the CLI or GUI wallet?

2. So that's the only .keys file you found on your entire harddrive(s)?

4. Try to restore the wallet from that mnemonic seed you have.
Open a command prompt in the folder where the monero CLI executables are and run this:
monero-wallet-cli --restore-deterministic-wallet
and go through the process (give it a name, enter the 25 words, set a password, let it sync)

I found a .keys file with a date stamp from May, which is when I would have set up the wallet. When I used the wallet name to start wallet-cli, it asked for a password and I gave it the password I had used in May and the wallet opened, showing no balance. I tried rescan_bc and it came back with zero balance.

Unless you have another idea, I think I'm sunk.

OK, here are some theories of what might have happened:

1. Maybe someone got hold of your wallet file or seed and withdrew your monero from your wallet. (people get hacked from time to time)
When you typed rescan_bc, did you see funds coming in and then going out? Each transaction will be listed one per line, with incoming funds as green and outgoing funds as purple. Each line will have the block number, from which you can tell when that transaction took place.

2. Maybe you have another wallet, that's saved in a different folder. Issue a search in all your drives for .keys files (and don't forget to include hidden folders in the search)

3. Maybe there's something wrong with your daemon or your blockchain copy. In the monerod window type 'diff' and post here the number it outputs for BH.

You said earlier something about a mnemonic seed. Do you still have it?

I think I may know the issue. The monero-wallet-cli.exe always starts by asking the name of the wallet. At the time I created the wallet (months ago), I recorded the 25 word seed. I didn't know the wallet name mattered. So, when I give it a name, it's not the correct name and then it wants to create a new wallet.

Now the question: Is there a way to recover without having the wallet name?

For example, if there's a file abc123.keys, you would load the wallet like this:
Code:
monero-wallet-cli.exe --wallet-file abc123

Do this for every .keys file you find and check their balance until you find in which wallet your funds are.
I found a .keys file with a date stamp from May, which is when I would have set up the wallet. When I used the wallet name to start wallet-cli, it asked for a password and I gave it the password I had used in May and the wallet opened, showing no balance. I tried rescan_bc and it came back with zero balance.

I'm not sure if this is where to post my question, but here goes:
I created and deposited Monero into a wallet months ago. I decided to update my wallet software, but when I give it my 25 word seed, it opens with nothing in the wallet. What am I doing wrong?

What did you enter as restore height?
zero

The daemon and the wallet must be fully syncd before it will show.  After that, try again, or try the CLI wallet.

I am also using Windows. I got the CLI to go through the drill and got the same answer: Balance: 0 Unlocked Balance: 0.
Any way to see historical transactions?

Once the daemon is syncd, and then the wallet syncd to the daemon, history and balance should be restored.

Try starting the daemon, and fully synchronizing it before open/sync a wallet.

Are you using the latest version, 0.11.1.0?
Yes, am using the current version. I started monerod.exe in a command window and as soon as it was synced, I left it running and started CLI in a new cmd window. Got the same result... Balance: 0 This is not looking good. Is there a command to show past transactions in the CLI wallet?

H Dario et al,
I've been kind of ignoring cryptos for a while, which included ignoring CoinTracking. You guys have been BUSY! I just signed up for your lifetime service, that's just how awesome I think this service is!

Now, I do have a question. I ran the tax report for 2017 and it told me I had two errors (no buy for a sell). The first time I ran the report, it told me (somewhere) what coins were involved in the error (KMD and BCN). I made some changes in KMD and I could find nothing wrong with BCN. I ran the report again and now it says there is one error somewhere. Unfortunately, I can no longer find where CT told me which coins were involved in the first place and I am a loss to find the error.

Any hints?

Also, I'm not following the logic on mining income. Apparently, the cost basis is being increased by the quantity mined times the price of the crypto on the date the mining was reported to CT. It had the result of increasing my cost per coin such that the unrealized gains dollar amount didn't change. Shouldn't the cost basis of the mined coins be zero??? Done that way, the cost per coin would only show the cost for the initial purchase of coins and only the number of coins held would increase. The only way I could get it to reflect unrealized gains the way I thought it should work is by making a trade transaction "buying" the amount of mined coins and selling $0 USD (or any other coin). Doing it that way left the dollar basis of the coins unchanged, reduced the cost per coin, increased the current balance and showed the gains in Unrealized Gains.

What am I missing here?

One more thing: Do you have a write-up on how to handle forks? (BCH, BTG)

Thanks,

Steve
