1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: June 24, 2022, 01:36:07 AM
Problem is now resolved. If anyone have problem with session please contact us by email.

What happens with a user's deposit if the site doesn't come back online 7 days after the session expires, but he couldn't use the service or extend the session due to the downtime?
We make refund if user couldn't use the service due to the downtime. In cases of longer DDoS attacks we extended sessions time.

Since the clearnet domain is facing a lot of attacks, shouldn't the better  solution be that the clearnet be just used for informational purposes about Chipmixer and also a link to the tor version that the users can use to mixer coins. More like a move pushing users to mix through the tor version.

This is solution that was decided.

.com is now online. It does not allow mixing. It is used for informational purposes only.
3  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: May 18, 2022, 10:31:26 PM
by searching through Google the first result directs me to chipmixer domain with .xyz extension, with a very similar (maybe even identical) design there is easy to make a mistake.
.com has been removed by Google as copyright offender. See here:

Google received a complaint from the .online domain and it got the original .com domain removed from searches because of this?

Important announcement

Chipmixer.com is no longer under our control. Do not use it

What is happening?
Chipmixer com domain is pointing to our IP.
Attacker server is responding to requests made to this IP.
Attacker used it to create new SSL certificate https://crt.sh/?id=6604573658
Attacker is using it to serve altered website that changes deposit addresses and also displays invalid onion address.
Chipmixer com has been disabled till fix is found.

This has happened before with different service provider https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935098.msg58026067#msg58026067

Tor / onion service has not been affected.
Any data sent to and received from .com on April 24 may be compromised. Sweep your chips and do not reuse session tokens.
Contact us at chipmixer@protonmail.com if you have been affected.

10  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: November 26, 2021, 11:26:41 PM
what is the current state with v2 vouchers?

v2 version says they're valid on v3
v3 version says "Old vouchers will be available at Segwit version after few days"
v3 version message is old. It should be removed.
If your voucher does not work - contact support.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mixer Detection in 2021 on: November 11, 2021, 01:50:44 AM
In 2021, it's very hard to detect a transaction from a centralized mixing service like ChipMixer or such good reputed services.
This is incorrect. Each year more and more companies track transactions at blockchain and each year they get more resources from KYC exchanges. Being 2021 does not make it harder to detect. It makes it easier.

However, i think about Chipmixer who has the only mixing kind service as the user will receive private keys to spend from instead of a direct transaction to his wallet. Would they be able to trace it also ?
It does not protect you from mixer detection.
Receiving private key protects you from timing deposit and withdrawal. For example - you deposit 1 mBTC now and you receive 1 mBTC chip created week ago. If you spend it right now attacker may guess you are one of ChipMixers customers who deposited 1 mBTC between now and week ago. If you spend it after month then amount of customers and possibilities grow.

In the worst cases, if exchanges as well as governments are able to track a transaction to know it's coming from a mixer, mixing in general will be useless.
This is incorrect. Mixing protects your privacy as in how much you have and how you spend it.
Mask protects your health. If anyone can detect you using mask - is it useless? If shopkeeper forbids you to enter with mask - will you hide it or will you find different shop?

KYC exchanges will block your Bitcoins. Because you mixed them. Because you gambled. Because you received them from different country. Because you used Wasabi wallet or other forbidden software or service. Because you do not have full name and address of a person who paid you.

I made a deposit some hours ago, left and came back and decided to restore my session, only to find this message:
You have donated 0.952 mBTC which is 100.0% of your deposit. Thank you!

Any amount under 1 mBTC is auto donated. If you deposit another 0.048 mBTC your total deposit is 1 mBTC and you will receive 1 mBTC chip.

So what's the status? is it safe to use again? should we avoid the clearnet version?
Tor version is better protected than clearnet. We should avoid clearnet version.

Attacker gained access to our .com server IP at 2021-09-23. They used it to create two SSL certificate - one with Cloudflare (https://crt.sh/?id=5270080144) - second with Lets Encrypt (https://crt.sh/?id=5281011754).

How is this even possible? Do you host this on VPS or in some sort of shared environment? Was server's content accessed?
Consider changing the host
We assume server content was not affected. If it was then attacker would take our SSL certificate instead of creating new one.
We do not know full story. It is also possible that DNS records were attacked to point at different IP.
13  Other / Meta / Re: Are we now allowing obviously false information to be posted as truth? on: October 07, 2021, 12:13:53 AM
in order to help operations like chipmixer that launder funds to be able to kick back funds to those who join the team and help eliminate competition (legitimate projects) so that their bread and butter (laundering scammed funds) can thrive and everyone can get paid.
We do not launder funds. We do not attack competition.
If you believe this is not true - prove it.

I only want the truth to be recognized and for lies to stop being perpetuated on this forum. ... I want it to be accurate. Thatís the difference. Iím not here to fill time in an otherwise boring life by seeking joyful posters who insult others with lies for a laugh. Iím here to help change the world. Sadly, the place I thought this was possible is now more likely to give you false information and tell you not to use crypto.

We agree. Some people bet and gamble. Some use service at your signature. They may have problem because some other people believe it is immoral. They may use our service to avoid people like that. It is their right and we help them with it.

Did any bitcointalk scammer used ChipMixer to hide their scammed funds? Yes. Are we part of group that scamms people at bitcointalk? No. Do we profit from it? No unless scammers donate and I doubt they do. Can we stop scammer from using our service? I do not think we can.

(removed)

Still think members should be on alert that the mixer may be currently broken.
This is correct.

@chipmixer, is there any way you could encode some sort of catch-all that sweeps through the database of sessions (either after 12 hours or at a random time when load is low) to see if there are any deposits that have been missed this way?
This issue (not recognizing some of deposits) has been solved around same time as Segwit update.
15  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: September 26, 2021, 12:11:00 AM
Important announcement

There has been successful attack on ChipMixer communication integrity. Some part of traffic to/from ChipMixer.com website has been compromised. Please read on to decide what to do next.

If you are using Tor and .onion to access ChipMixer - you are not affected.

If you are not using Tor and visit .com to access ChipMixer - there is a chance you have been affected. Sweep all chips you have received in last 7 days and treat them as linked with your deposit.

Details of attack
We are not sure yet but it is similar to January attack:
Over last few days IP address of .com server have been switched to another server for about 30 minutes about 3 times per day. Attacker used it to create valid SSL certificate and then served their own version of service with minor cosmetic changes.

Attacker gained access to our .com server IP at 2021-09-23. They used it to create two SSL certificate - one with Cloudflare (https://crt.sh/?id=5270080144) - second with Lets Encrypt (https://crt.sh/?id=5281011754).

What next?
Do not use .com version. Use .onion version.
If you were affected - contact us at support email.

Maybe I'm a bit paranoid, but just imagine if some start mixing over and over and over again, without even paying tx fees, in order to understand how ChipMixer works internally so he can follow the money in case of mixing on the actual blockchain...
After you deposit ChipMixer does not mix your funds on blockchain before you get them back. After you deposit you can use random already created chip (or get voucher and wait for new chips to be created). Doing multiple mixed does not tell you more about "ChipMixer secret mixing" or show how to link deposits and chips.

From what I know, mixing tends to show its weaknesses when there are too few customers or one wants to mix too big amount of money.
While this is hard to achieve on mainnet, it should work out on testnet.
This is correct. Mixing is weak when chip pool is small or one user mixes much more than other users (and withdraws too fast).

I had some coins paid to me that were previously ran through Chipmixer I was told.

Now a service that I am using to exchange some BTC for a different coin has told me they have history of being involved in Malware and they want KYC. What does Chipmixer/ This community recommend in this case? I have no connection to the origin of these coins but now I am being treated as if I do?

Thank you
Imagine this. You buy a new car. You have paid a lot but car salesman does not give you your car. Instead they tell you that some of the banknotes you have used were previously owned by Morally Wrong People. One of them ate pork. Second one gambled. Third said bad word about our Great Leader. Your money is gone. If you are lucky you will not end up in jail.

If you allow others to dictate how much your assets are worth - you will be tricked. Do not allow others to tell you your Bitcoin is worth only half because they think something happened. Do not allow others to keep your Bitcoin because they say it is not worth anything.
We recommend to not to deal with services that treat Bitcoin as non-fungible.

New keys are bech32 and they need to be imported with "p2wpkh:" at the begin of the each key in Electrum or they will look like empty.
19  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 20, 2021, 11:01:11 PM
Were ChipMixer in a position to offer "clean chips" (coins with no taints or links to markets, other mixers, etc.) that might be extremely popular.

I have no idea how possible/easy/attractive that would be.  That would interest a lot of people however.
Calling some chips "clean" makes other chips "dirty". This damages Bitcoin reputation making it bad people money. We do not want that.

If we went dishonest and offered "clean chips" without explaining what makes them "clean" we could attract a lot of people especially if we advertised at dark net websites.
But with our price strategy more customers and more volume does not make more money. It makes us want to attract honest privacy minded people that know a lot or want to learn and they know what our tool is worth for them.

@ChipMixer: Please disregard the PM I sent you, importing the private keys worked just fine after reading o_e_l_e_o's post above. Smartass that I am I didn't click on the "Import to Electrum" button but directly copy / pasted the private key from the "Withdraw" page. Also of course I didn't read the note about Electrum requiring a special prefix. Maybe put that part in bold? Not sure. Either way I didn't realize there was new information on that page, blinded by routine I guess.
There was no note when you tried it. It was added after your (and other person) feedback.

Tor v3 version of ChipMixer is now online: http://chipmixorflykuxu56uxy7gf5o6ggig7xru7dnihc4fm4cxqsc63e6id.onion (chip mix or fly)
It supports Segwit deposit addresses and chips may also be Segwit.
