61  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: About Armory and the blockchain on: January 20, 2018, 06:09:37 PM
Should I enter the Bitcoin directory or the bin directory (which contains the executables)?
62  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.5.0: CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC mining software, GBT+Stratum, RPC, Linux/Win64 on: January 20, 2018, 12:23:20 PM
Thank you for your response. Smiley I installed bfgminer from package. I deleted /etc/udev/rules.d/01-cgminer.rules, but nothing changed. Sad cgminer recognizese the miners, but bfgminer doesn't. Any further suggestions? Huh
63  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 5.5.0: CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC mining software, GBT+Stratum, RPC, Linux/Win64 on: January 19, 2018, 02:01:20 PM
Accidentally I postet this at the wrong board. So I'll repeat it here:

In order for cgminer to recognize my USB Miner, I have to give, among other things, the following command:

Code:
sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/

What must the corresponding command for the bfgminer look like?
64  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: About Armory and the blockchain on: January 17, 2018, 06:06:22 PM
What do I have to enter into the "Bitcoin Home Dir", the same directory which contains the blockchain I downloadad via Bitcoin Core (in case Bitcoin Core does not use the standard directory)?
65  Bitcoin / Armory / About Armory and the blockchain on: January 16, 2018, 01:17:40 PM
Is this correct: In order to use Bitcoin Armory I need the Bitcoin Core application but I don't need to download the whole blockchain, cause Armory connects to any external blockchain.
66  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Deleting the wallet on: December 08, 2017, 02:54:34 PM
Great, I now know that don't destroy my paper backup by deleting the mentioned wallet from my disk. Thank you. Smiley
67  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Deleting the wallet on: December 07, 2017, 04:33:46 PM
Well, that means as I don't have a non-watching-only copy left somewhere else, I won't be able to spend the money regardless of having a paper backup that has been created befor I change the wallet to a watching-only one?
68  Bitcoin / Armory / Deleting the wallet on: December 06, 2017, 10:53:24 AM
Assuming the case, I have a paper wallet, can I safely continue with the dialog shown on the screenshot? Or will I lose all my bitcoins?

What the hell is wrong with you? The question is not that hard, is it?
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to detect (with bitcoin-cli) if the blockchain download has been completed on: November 25, 2017, 11:42:46 PM
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure. I mean, there must be a way to check if the blockchain loading is complete without checking how many blocks do currently exist first and then compare this number with the number of loaded block.

I have something in minde like "bitcoin-cli -proof-completeness" and getting "yes" or "no" as a result. I just want to know when the system is ready to spend any funds.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to detect (with bitcoin-cli) if the blockchain download has been completed on: November 25, 2017, 04:46:44 PM
When running Bitcoin Core on Windows, I have a GUI that tells me when the blockchain has been completely downloaded. But how do I check that with bitcoin-cli on the command line of linux?
72  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory on the command line? on: November 25, 2017, 04:34:00 PM
Thanks for the hint. But I still didn't get it. I followed the first of the two instructions there, but could not start armoryd afterwards. It says:

Code:
bash: armoryd: Command not found.

What am I doing wrong? And why is there no documentation available on the internet?
73  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory on the command line? on: November 25, 2017, 11:00:09 AM
Yes, that's what I'd like to do.
74  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory on the command line? on: November 24, 2017, 11:13:23 AM
I want to use Armory on the command line (Linux). Is that possible? I can not find any information on the internet.
75  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Loading the whole blockchain shouldn't take weeks on: November 17, 2017, 09:06:22 PM
As I read elsewere the problem is the damn small amount of RAM. It starts loading the blockchain normaly, but when progressing to a further state the progess comes to a stop nevertheless saying to be at work. A workaround would be to load the blockchain elsewhere, copy it onto the pi and keep the blockchain online. May work. I'm going to figure this out soon.
76  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - and what about notebook theft? on: November 17, 2017, 06:12:16 PM
I may mess things up: is the password associated with the paper backup in some way?
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Loading the whole blockchain shouldn't take weeks on: November 16, 2017, 02:06:02 PM
Well it looks like the following:

- I'm using a Raspberry Pi
- 700 MHz/s
- 512 MB RAM (64 MB reserved for gpu)
- Debian Stretch
- 6 MBit/s Internet Connection
- System and Blockchain running on an USB drive

Is there a problem with the configuration, concerning the slow blockchain download?
78  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - and what about notebook theft? on: November 16, 2017, 01:00:58 PM
Thanks for your answers so far. Smiley

Well, I carry my notebook around with me. My wallet is on an external HDD that I do not carry around with me. (Save so far.) What I worry about is that the HDD could be stolen from my home, connected to another system and abused.

Would an HDD encryption protect it? What if the thief takes the notebook, cracks the Windows password and uses it to gain access to the encrypted HDD.

Again: what kind of protection would you recommend?
79  Bitcoin / Armory / Armory - and what about notebook theft? on: November 15, 2017, 04:23:26 PM
Hi, I use Armory and always had a paper backup - very useful, as shown in this article: PLEASE Backup your wallet! A Paper Backup is *Forever*!

But I have a question: how does Armory protect me from losing Bitcoins through a notebook theft?
80  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Why is mSigna disconnecting permanently? on: November 14, 2017, 05:36:33 PM
Does anybody know why mSigna permanently is disconnecting from peers after being connected for two or three minutes just letting me download only 90 blocks each connect?

Is it configured not correctly? Is it buggy? Or is it simly the way it works?

To demonstrate what the interruption looks like, I linked a screenshot:
