Just a quick shout to the dev to say thanks for all the support that is being given atm. It is really good to see all the support being given on this coin and I am hoping for good progression!

Try a getinfo in the debug window and it'll give you the diff.

You appear to be on the right version, it could be worth deleting your wallet and downloading the chain posted a few pages back!

Hi!

Well, I'm totally new to mining, please be patient with me Smiley

I wanted to install the client on a linux system (debian) and downloaded the source
from the link in the very first post of this thread.

First of all in the contrib/debian/bin folder there is a binary called novacoind. Is it for mining hobonickels?
The novacoind.install says copy novacoind to /usr/bin and src/novacoind /usr/lib/novacoin/ (I didnt find any directors src containing novacoind?)
I copied the bin/novacoind to the folders.

Starting novacoind it created the ~HOME/.novacoin/novacoin.conf but no wallet.dat and the other directories to store the database.

I adjusted novacoin.conf to:

daemon=1
server=1
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=pass
port=7372
rpcport=7373
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
gen=1
genproclimit=-1

addnode=178.49.118.233

maybe someone can help .

Thanks.

Hey dude, you need to be amending your HoboNickels.conf  If you are a bit lost drop me a PM but I assume you have the latest client etc...

Ouch yup that hurt, quite a large number lost now I've re synced! Sad

Back on course now though

I don't mind to send you a few for your troubles, just let them stake.

That'd be awesome, my stake wallet is:

F1X9whYLw6s32eadhowQdX4AE2JkcRpQqg

BTW with the one's I have mined do I need to switch them to the Stake Wallet to get them to gain stake? Or is this auto?

Ahh this explains why I came back to chaos!

Reloading now but got a feeling I've lost out on a butt load of coins... will report back shortly.

My getinfo:

I have now read and am downloading the new chain, will extract and update and see where I stand.

Can I check the name of the .conf file?

I've set everything up as I would do for any other coin but CGminer starts and then doesen't kick into mining.

Edit:

Resolved think it was the port. Might be that I also saw the .conf elsewhere as hobonickel.conf both now changed and mining away.

16  Bitcoin / Mining support / Getting a 7850 and 4770 running together? on: June 09, 2013, 02:07:13 PM
Has anyone managed to get a 7850 and a 4770 running together on the same rig?

I've had a 6670 running along side before with no issue but this time I am having issues getting both to run at once.

Not sure if anyone has achieved this with custom drivers etc...
17  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: running HD7970 and HD5970 together on: May 28, 2013, 05:30:12 PM
I'll hop on this too.

I have a 4850 and a 7850.

I wish to use my 4850 for games/desktop use.

And the 7850 for mining.

I've already tried it and I get a hyper transport sync flood error once I start mining on the 7850. Not sure what to do..?

Did you get any joy on this? I've picked up a 4770 as a 2nd card to go with my 7850 and would love to get them both working together.

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH Currency should i invest and mine! on: May 27, 2013, 03:13:55 PM
BQC, I am a supporter of this coin due to it's base and reward system and I especially like the way that it has been going.

It's price atm is way undervalued and it should move back up.

Outside of this Mincoin is good & as mention SMC has nice potential should it ever move out of dev.

The one that is a shame to see where it is, is Bit Bar. I really like the concept behind this coin/bar however it doesn't actually consolidate anything.
