1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: February 01, 2018, 02:30:31 AM
I completely agree with this. Bitcoin is useless, I havent touched the thing in so long, massive transaction fees, slow network. It was a research project which has now reached its limits, which is great we have learnt from it but it has more or less reached the end of its usable life.
Ethereum already has more than half the market cap of bitcoin, soon coinmarket cap will have to start tracking ETH dominance not BTC dominance.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest now or wait? on: January 21, 2018, 06:34:01 PM
right now the entire market is down, but has shown good signs of support. From a current perspective right now is a great time to buy not onl into the big coins but also altcoins.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: January 13, 2018, 03:39:10 PM
The number of successful ICO's are decreasing dramatically.  Just wanna know about successful ICO's in the fourth quarter of 2017 and if anybody still believes in  ICO's.

Its not that hey arent 'successful'. There are just far more and so each individual ICO receives less attention and has more competition.

If anything I would say that alot of the recent ICOs are much better, but there are also far more shitcoins being offered. You just have to choose wisely.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is PRL price dropping so much? on: January 13, 2018, 03:22:59 PM
The price has stabilized. It grew very much in a short time. The best solution is to keep it in the long run if you have another capital to trade.

I see you are part of the envion signature campaign. Can I ask how you have divided your portfolio? I am not sure whether to maintain a prl holding and only move a portion to envion or whether to make a large scale move to envion.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Pump & Dump Group on: January 13, 2018, 03:21:08 PM
If things continue this way there is not long before the crash...

My advice is that if you are staying in the market through this crash make sure your money is in tokens or coins with usable and revolutionary technology behind them. Mmost will implode and be worthless.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Pump & Dump Group on: January 13, 2018, 03:19:33 PM
Has anyone actually made money following these swings?

This is such a worrying direction for the market to be taking. Shows too much manipulationa and uneducated 'investing'. Its more like betting.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH fork in January 19 on: January 13, 2018, 02:05:16 PM
can someone clarify on this? It is the first i am hearing of it.

What is ETZ and why is it forking from ethereum? Is there any official source of news on this? I am in a position where I may be selling tokens around this time anyway and so would like to know if I should hold ETH around that time.

I agree. Project seems destined to a very bright future. I had recognized it as very valuable when nobody was buying their ICO, quite proud of that Smiley

I see you are part of the envion signature campaign too, can i ask you how you have split your portfolio? I am currently torn between PRL and EVN, and can't decide which to position the majority of my portfolio in.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Oyster Pearl: Why I think It's a Long Term Hold on: January 13, 2018, 01:59:27 PM
what i love about this project is the openess of the devs and the dedication to the project above all else. They have only now begun marketing the token, after first establishing the roadmap and the underlying foundation of the protocol.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH, to hodl or to invest in something else? on: December 24, 2017, 02:19:53 PM
Definitley reinvest it, in an Ether backed token!

Why? Many tokens are backed against Ether, meaning they still benefit from the price increase in Ether when you change them back to Fiat.

For example I would suggest Oyster Pearl (PRL), it made massive gains during the week, and still has potential for 5-10x in next couple months.
Better yet, it also benefited from the price increase ether saw during the last week.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 24, 2017, 01:31:01 AM
As a matter of interest what have early investors been doing with their tokens? I was tempted to sell a small portion when the price peaked a couple of days ago but decided to hodl for longer term, I feel like this token is still highly undervalued and is a steal even at the current price.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 24, 2017, 01:28:49 AM
Cryptopia is a good mid level exchange just like Kucoin. They should try for Bittrex and Binance but if they can't get those then Cryptopia is fine for now.

This is great news, being approached by a mid level exchange like cryptopia shows potential.

It also helps to prove the token and strengthen its chances of getting on bittrex or binance.

Just the highest in the near future is $2. Coin has $10 potential with the 108M supply and 12M Marketcap. Would easily achieve it with a testnet and listed on Binance or Bittrex.

I don't think the coin will ever exceed $10-$11 though.

Why do you never see it exceeding 10-11$? If all goes to plan and they have a working network on mainnet by april, then actual usage volume could significantly grow by 2018 end. Anyway that's far in the future and highly speculative.

Have any of the devs mentioned what progress is on listing for other exchanges? Have they only just started negotiations or are they further along?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: December 21, 2017, 06:19:10 PM
Ethereum network in theory should be far more valuable than bitcoin.

It can handle twice the number of transactions and enables smart contracts creating an entirely new market for Dapps.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 21, 2017, 01:21:43 PM
Okay, I just started looking into this project and find it interesting.

I have a background in media and well aware of the problems Bruno is hoping to address here.  I have some questions

1) Most people are not tech savvy and cyber hacks and news of such hacks will only gain more media attention.  I think many consumers when asked to lease some CPU will be very nervous to do so.  Many will think it makes their data vulnerable.   Curious as to how the project will address this issue?

2). If consumers allow sites to use their CPU and then the consumers device gets hacked they will automatically think PRL is the cause.     Even if the cause of the hack is unrelated to PRL, it is not a big stretch to think the consumer will think PRL is to blame.  This will cause bad publicity and the legal ramifications for the content site involved could be enough to scare users and content providers away.  Does PRL address this concern?

3). What system does PRl have in place to sign up content providers?

4). What stops others offering similar service to PRL.  In other words how high are the barriers to entry?

5). What happens to PRL if IOTA runs into technical roadblocks?

Thanks everyone.  Very interesting project. Smiley.  Smiley

Hey guys the questions I ask are open for anyone to answer.  I say that because on ANN page seemed people thought only Bruno would answer such questions

I assume those on here have done their research on PRL and love their feedback on the above as I think they are roadblocks.   cheers

1) and 2) This is a lack of understanding on the technology. It makes your data no less vulnerable than any type of crypto mining, which is not at all. Many websites, such as piratebay for one, have already implemented an in-website miner through coinhive. As for reassuring the public, that's up to the websites who implement the software.

3)Why do they need to sign up content providers? It is a line of code, which websites can implement at their discretion. Presumably, or at least hopefully, come of the dev funds just raised will be used in marketing the protocol. They do plan to build a small scale server farm to support file hosting until critical mass of the network is hit.

4)What stops anyone offering any copycat service? coinhive offered an in-website miner, however oyster takes it a step further by also integrating a decentralised file storage network. As far as others copying the idea, I suppose they can but they would have no reason to, oyster have first mover advantage. By the time someone starts developing and marketing their copycat oyster should be live.

5)This is a valid concern. However almost all Dapps share this concern nowadays, its the nature of the fledgling market. If it did become the case that IOTA couldn't sustain oyster, it could be moved over to another system. The original network was actually developed to be a centralised system but was redeveloped for IOTA, so presumably it could be done again.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [warning] Ether Delta Hacking on: December 21, 2017, 02:24:40 AM
Decentralized exchanges are the future.Period.

But ether delta is a distributed exchange isn't it?

They didn't gain access to any ether delta servers they just got a hold of the domain name and we routing it to their own etherdelta website lookalike. If you use metamask they have now blocked the website until its resolved.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [warning] Ether Delta Hacking on: December 21, 2017, 02:07:48 AM
Ether delta just had its domain name hacked and the site was/is re-routing to a phishing website, don't use the current site.

Has anyone been effected by it?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: December 21, 2017, 01:58:41 AM
Can someone aware me how this is different from coinhive?

Rather than just mining and validating transactions for a crytocurrency like coinhive does with monero, oyster protocol uses the IOTA tangle to allow decentralised file storage.

Basically it hits 2 birds one stone.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Best tip on saving money on: December 20, 2017, 08:26:33 PM
Work your ass off! Keep working as many hours as you can get and spending as little as possible. Invest the saved money and begin earning interest on it. Over time you're pot will grow faster and faster and you'll be able to ease up on work, while still maintaining a high income through passive income.
20  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: December 20, 2017, 08:24:26 PM
Definitley some kind of investment, that ca be risk free though

What you need to be careful f is the time value of money. Depending on current risk free interest rates (AAA government bonds), your money will decrease in buying power unless you get at least the risk free rate of return on it.
