If you need money or you're interested in buying some altcoin, sell. If not, just hold.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How long will this altcoin recession will remain....? on: June 05, 2017, 05:17:11 PM
I've noticed most altcoins are back on the rise. I'm curious when they're next big drop is going to happen.

I'm all for protecting myself with guns against other people who might use guns against me
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn free altcoins like ether or anyothers ? on: June 05, 2017, 04:59:22 PM
Most altcoins will have options for you to earn by posting on social media, blogging, or contributing to the promotion of the coin.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are altcoins just another way of crowdfunding? on: June 05, 2017, 03:36:45 PM
I'm glad you opened this topic. I'm not an expert but I'm a bit scared when I see "legendary" and highly qualified members here talking about all alt coins like they are simply alternatives methods of payment... I think this very reductant and most important, I think this urgently needs to be discussed here.

And to answer you, yes, I think you are right, it is a new more transparent way for crowdfunding. But not only that, it is much better. Here's what I wrote yesterday answering another topic:

You can call them coins, but you can also call them tokens. Some of them are tokens of a specific new company with a specific new product developed with blockchain technology. You buy those tokens the same way you buy stocks, with a plus that those can be used within the company or traded for other tokens. Also they are scarce, with limited supply. There are numberous ways that blockchain can be implemented to make things cheapier and more efficient.

Hope I could help

I completely agree. I think most people come into altcoins as a fiat currency alternative like Bitcoin. Yet, if you really do some research about blockchains and smart contracts you'll realize that this technology has so much more potential than just a digital currency.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What your favorite altcoin on: June 05, 2017, 02:41:18 PM
Out of your options, I would choose ETH.

Yet, my favorite altcoin right now is DGB. They have a lot of projects in the works and are really working towards getting more companies on board with their platform.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Are altcoins just another way of crowdfunding? on: June 05, 2017, 02:32:56 PM
Are altcoins just another way of crowdfunding? As an investor, this is my general view of most altcoins. I see it as more of an investment into business models that I feel will help shape our future as a society. What are your thoughts?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Altcoins to buy? on: June 05, 2017, 02:17:03 PM
ETH, XRP, DGB, MAID, OAX
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a list of ICOs with a summery of their purpose? on: June 05, 2017, 01:49:06 PM
There's a website I visit called ICO Alert https://www.icoalert.com/. Is this similar to what you're looking for?
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: June 04, 2017, 07:43:54 PM
I wouldn't know. Most of the time after I explain what Bitcoin is and how it will help everyone out in the future, they are looking to get on board
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: May 31, 2017, 02:01:14 PM
As a business owner, I accept Bitcoin as payment. This always brings a "What's Bitcoin?" discussion. So, I inform them and spread the good news.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: May 31, 2017, 01:44:57 PM
I personally think the idea behind bitcoin (decentralization) is more intriguing than the money to be made from it. Yet, I'm sure rich people have financial advisors that keep them in the loop on the next "big thing" that will bring them the best ROI. So yes, I think they would be very interested in using and learning more about Bitcoins. However, I think many of them will be looking for ways to build on top of the platform vs. creating their own adaptation of it. I feel it's only positive for Bitcoin when more wealthy people and celebrities get behind it because they have the power to influence the masses. That's great PR for Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies in general.
