It seems they may have played a significant role in the Avalon B3 and chip debacle and delays scam. They are the designers and fabricators of the Avalon generation 1 chip. Here are some relevant links dug up:

3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 3 release countdown on: March 20, 2014, 02:59:20 AM

He is on paper but he's not responded to the teams emails in months and months. As I said, the only people left (and running this company now) are the engineers, with little money. Yifu ran off to to work with the government about anonymity and took the millions with him.

He is the founder but he isn't the only owner.

Do you have some insider information?  You are the OP and seemed to have some vested interested in this?

I am not so sure Yifu not responding to emails is really proof that he is no longer associated with Avalon.  It wasn't that long ago when he seemed to disappear from the face of this earth and not responding to any IM, email, forum posts for months while everybody is waiting for the B3 chips/miners.  He was associated with Avalon at that time, No?  So what's so different now when you don't see or hear from him?  If anything else, it is typical Yifu behavior.  It doesn't prove that he is not associated with Avalon and making money off new Avalon chips that I hope nobody is buying when there are so many more options available now.

When I set out the conditions for promotion or demotion for companies in my manufacturer trustworthiness thread (see sig), I tell them. I tell them exactly what the community (as an average) feels about them, on going problems, what is required for the problem to be solved. In the case of Avalon it was the trade ins (never sorted) and the bad performance on B3. They can't solve B3 now, it happened.

The other part of it was that Yifu was the figurehead/scapegoat/ringleader, whatever you want to refer to him as. But he's not there any more, he took large amounts of money (or the control of money) yet the engineers left behind are getting HIS flak.

IIRC Yifu went AFK between B2 and B3 because he was just about starting this government work and he never checked the forums. Have a look at his profile on here, he's not been around for months and months and months.

Lets all take a freaking moment and think about why he should even fix any of your problems. You guys go on and on, whining about how he "fucked you over" on purpose, and never said anything grateful because you're all greedy bastards who can only think of yourselves and not what people have done for the community. If he really wanted to screw his customers over he would just take all the money and never refund anything. He has REFUNDED TONS of people, in BTC while the BTC increased in value! I think he did what he can to do good for his customers and the community. 1 Year ago you would all be sucking his C**K for a miner, and now all you can do is talk crap. Show some gratitude and maybe something awesome will happen. Ya B*tches.

He knew they fucked people over. His last post promised compensation for trade in and chip buyers and they still haven't done anything.

You're a fool if you buy anything from Avalon
5  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Running 200GH/s Avalon via a computer on: January 31, 2014, 02:18:34 AM
Well, it doesn't seem to be doing you any good, you've got the same errors as I have.

"err 0" is actually a return code for success. His log looks normal to me. A failed reset like that is common.... post a longer log file?
6  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: December 27, 2013, 02:52:59 AM
As more and more locations are added (YAY) it's getting harder to find the certain types of places in areas with several shops accepting BTC. It would be neat if there was a way to filter for categories (i.e. food/beverage). For me specifically, I will be traveling on the road in 2014 and want to plan my routes to make as many stops to spend Bitcoin as possible!
7  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Leaving Negative Feedback for BitSyncom, Scammed on Trade-ins, Scammed on Chips, on: November 25, 2013, 01:56:00 AM

Thanks RoadStress,

I already received a full refund for the chips that didn't make it to the manufacturer.
My question is about the compensation that Yifu alluded to above.

edit:  I'm assuming that Yifu means to pay compensation for the chips being delivered late. The refund only covers the chips.  The time spent on designing and manufacturing never-to-break-even boards needs to be compensated as well.
This cost was suffered by the manufacturers but sometimes 50% of it was passed on to end-users.  Am I misinterpreting Yifu's statement?

I think you are misinterpreting Yifu's character and you actually take for granted his words.

Yeah we're all waiting for his compensation that he promised. Unfortunately, he's a greedy, dishonest, liar. At this point everyone needs to pursue legal action against Yifu.

Also there will be some compensation for trade-in and chip order customers.

After contacting Yifu directly through many different routes regarding his promises to compensate chip purchasers I finally received a direct response stating:

"We will not be issuing any partial refunds."

Do not buy from these guys until they make it right for all their past customers.

Agreed. These guys are liars and scammers. Negative feedback.
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon auctioning their 55nm chips on: November 05, 2013, 04:50:26 PM
Not our problem... no one is going to buy 55nm chips that underperform compared to BitFury and cost what the same?

And not from a manufacturer that lies and scams there customers...

17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Leaving Negative Feedback for BitSyncom, Scammed on Trade-ins, Scammed on Chips, on: October 21, 2013, 10:02:40 PM
Yifu,

Please refund me the 15 bitcoins to 1CorsCrBEcbncfnR7BVKadUZbHP7xNZCjJ.

Thanks

done.

Also there will be some compensation for trade-in and chip order customers. ( you are entitled regardless, so don't think I am trying to sway your decision. )

Yay!  I was waiting to hear back on my chip order refund request.  I did recieve my chips, which was pretty well documented as I posted unboxing photos.  But they were so late that I will never ROI and missed out on mining with them for 1-2 months.  I was hoping for a partial refund for the chip orders that were held up by the *ahem* customs issues.

It's been nearly a month since that post without any updates or replies to messages/emails. Seeing as Avalon posted 10,000 chips for sale at 100 BTC it seems straight forward that all of the extremely late deliveries they should reimburse at least 682BTC each.
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ribbon cable question on: October 19, 2013, 03:28:05 PM
So how do we go about replacing the IDE cables?

Is there any hints on this ngzhang?

You can just buy a raw 40 wire ribbon cable and crimp ends on it. Alternatively, I can make one for you but I'm sure it would be cheaper if you did it yourself.
You don't know which wires they are using or if they are just straight end to end connections. Without knowing the pin layout you might connect things wrong.

Yes, I do. All the schematics are public. It is straight through. I have made cables already for people that work 100%.

IDE cables have some interconnect, so i think this replacement will not work but certainly you can have a try.

Some interconnect? What do you mean by this?

They are 40/80 ping across the two connections with no twisting.

IDE cables have a missing pin.
