Fawksey

uhmn, run a virus scan on your pc and mobile... and please tell us if you have any malicious software installed.

Hnm could be a decent hacker who just deletes the malicious software after use. There probably is something that points to what happened.

If she had back ups of her reset keys then they could "bypass" the security.

Ps fawkesy i agree with you about monsanto ... very naughty peeps.

i had money sitting in mtgox for days, after i install the 2 step authentication..

Felt pretty safe.

To be honest though it seems a great security method.. the passowrd changes every 30 secounds. So they would need fyour phone to get that data... so maybe theres virus on your phone.. or googles securties been hacked.

Either way ...

Zaih saying its a an expensive lesson to learn is totally unproductive. what has been learned from this?

Nothing, we don't know the exact method to how she lost her coins.

Do a virus scan please Fawksgirl.. also on your phone... would help people alot if we could understand where the leaky part of your securty was...

and sorry this sucks big time....

You have Google Authenticator OTP?

Man i use that i thought that was fool proof. It doesnt make sense..

If you did use Google One Time Password... they would have to had access to that... unless you had the back up keys in an easy to find place

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, who are meant to protect our online rights and fight for our course still doesn't accept bitcoin.

Bitcoin is at the heart of online freedoms!

Its a digital currency which could use the backing of EEF considering they are meant to protect and support up and coming technologies. They used to support bitcon and even accepted bitcoin donations. They then refused to take bitcoin and gave all their bitcoin donations away...

They were unsure about the legal consequences of using bitcoin. So instead of fight and support the bitcoin community they blocked its usage as a donation mechanism and decided not to reeaserch and support bitcoin fully.

Anyway they are now supporting an event under their name for a convention on bitcoin.

Bit disappointed that they are meant to support digital rights yet have made very little effort in supporting the currency even to go so afar as to say they dented its reputation by refusing to use it as a donations tool.

Hi Hei_
I didnt have to do that although i still may...

Lucky i researched further, and found this article

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159428.0

From here there is help to trouble shot this problem. I went to Help (within multibit), then clicked "Help contents" and within that clicked Trouble shooting.

There look for where Multibit stores your data.

PC
"APPDATA" environment setting>/MultiBit    e.g. C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Application Data/MultiBit

Mine was in

C:\Users\i\AppData\Roaming\MultiBit

Anyway in this folder is a back up of your wallet.

Click open wallet from within multibit and find this file, wala!

That should open your old wallet with your bitcoins intact (with any luck)

This worked for me so it may work for you too
