LOL, Boot into Windows then instead of Ubuntu ! LOL.

I don't have Windows.  My MacBook died and I cannot afford another one.  It ran Windows.

I have been trying to fix it for several months.  It's non-repairable.

 Sad

@nightraven
@polyminer
@jason

How many blocks per month would an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x be able so solve?
I ran the TESTNET on various old CPUs and have no clue which one to use.

I have this one.  But it only has a fan controller with fans hooked up to it.   Huh

Thank you.

One question.  I have been running a node (mining with few instances of v3 on a CPU to verify the ops - it will never find a block obviously).

My IP address shows up as a server.

Currently I don't have my keys on this computer (they are offline).  Do I need to import my wallet before the HF or can I use the random key that daemon generated?

Keys does not need to be available on the Hard fork, they are independent.

If you want to mine, keep the private key in a safe backup, otherwise if you lost it your mined coins will not be accessible.

Thank you.

That answers my question.
BTW.  I do want to mine and help to keep the network decentralised.

Best,

~Thomas

Dear PascalCoin users,

New PascalCoin Build 4.0.0

Build 4.0.0 - 2018-10-26
- MANDATORY UPGRADE - HARD FORK ACTIVATION WILL OCCUR ON BLOCK 260000
  - PIP - 0009: RandomHash (New mining algo)
    - RandomHash is a new hash algo created by Herman Schoenfeld, see https://github.com/PascalCoin/PascalCoin/blob/master/PIP/PIP-0009.md
  - PIP - 0015: Fast Block Propagation
  - PIP - 0016: Layer-2 protocol support
  - Critical bug fix: New digest hash for signature verifications
  - Limit blockchain to allow max only one 0-fee operation by signer per block (prior was limited by network, not by core)
  - Added OrderedAccountKeysList that allows an indexed search of public keys in the safebox with mem optimization
  - Improved net protections

You will find source code on Github:
https://github.com/PascalCoin/PascalCoin/releases/tag/4.0.0

Binaries also at Github or at SourceForge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/pascalcoin

Remember: Hard fork activation at block 260000, probably on Thursday, 15-November-18
Mandatory upgrade to Version 4 prior to block 260000

How to make my wallet sync again it stuck on last week after a hour it doens't showing any progress. Is there any working node for this to make it sync again?

It syncs fine.

I have been running production 4.0.0 since the 26th.  Compiled from source.

It takes time if your local wallet has not been in use for a while.

One question, as much as I know after 4 years all inactive PASA account will be recycle, but, if I send somo PASC to an account the clock will be reset to another 4 years, no?  Huh

Why would you send some PASC to an inactive account that no one owns?

1 PASA is all you need to start.  If you have 9000 PASA (for example) then that was the whole point of expiring accounts.  To recycle them to real users.

To answer your question, if you do any op such as sending fraction of PASC to your other PASA, it will keep it active for 10 years.  The devs changed it.

Quote from the official website:

Quote
• Most PASAs in existence have 0 balance

• The average PASC balance across all PASAs is approximately 20 at the moment

• There are more than a million PASA accounts and less than 5% are in use

Some other point to consider regarding the PASA supply:

• There could come a time when the number of new users is rapidly growing; the rate would need to be sustained at one new user per minute for a significant amount of time to exhaust all the existing available and/or empty PASAs.

• A significant number of PascalCoin users are willing to keep their PASC on exchanges and therefore don’t require a PASA.

• If a PASA is inactive for 10 years, it would be recycled and thus help in replenishing the PASA supply.

You can keep it on an exchange  (no wallet/PASA required).  I keep my keys on a piece of paper.

Well, yesterday I bought a PASA! Grin Will this market be promising? How many accounts will be created at most? When a PASA is created, how many PASC are mined?

EDIT:  Correction.  The dev is right.  I mined around 1600 coins/80 accounts which would make 5 PASA per block.

The PASAs are not created.  They must be mined.  Not recyclable accounts.

Original reward per block mined was 100 PASC.  Adjustments and provisions were made for the future in the form of PIPs and now those numbers are very different.

Current account count is 1,271,345 as per block explorer.

@tlaskows: pretty cool you got it working in Delphi community edition ! Did you install Delphi in windows ? Or did you install it in linux/wine or something ? Cause I've seen you post about linux and such ? Smiley

Yes.  The free edition.  It's good for 1 year.  I use native only, no emulation layers.

Windows 10 Pro for hardcore gaming.

I don't use Linux.  It's not secure and there are no privacy controls in place.

I wiped Delphi.  Beware of non-stop spam (typical save now if you act now).  It requires to log in with your email.
That's ridiculous for a community/free edition.
Use a recyclable e-mail and a fake phone number.

I use Lazarus on Windows/Linux now.  It works much better.

I am wondering what kind of scammer is this...anybody dare to open the link?

It's not, surprisingly.

I clicked on it.  Running Kali on The Amazing old MacBook Pro retina 2012 that I had to fix over 9000 times.

How to touch type.  Secure site with pretty pictures of a normal US keyboard layout.

Thank God Apple uses non standard layout and crap keyboards, so typing on this POS mini keyboard is a workout.

Please excuse my naming convention for toys that break after a year.

Another, where can see the hashrate of PASC?

Many places.

The chances are 100% that coinmarketcap.com would have a section somewhere.

The block explorer is usually the quickest way, but I like to do it the hard way and ask on here.

What's the latest on Random Hash? Is there an estimated launch window yet?

Current build on github.

The last commit message was 'updated to work with Delphi'.

There was a note that this is reference implementation only and the final will likely be different.

As far as I understand, voting has to take place first.

Please read the PIP-0009 carefully.

With my old CPU, I am not sure that I will even bother.  It only has 30MB of L3 cache.

Thanks for the response, much appreciated. I'll take a look at GitHub!

No problem.

Be careful with the Data directory.

I pulled the source from 2 days ago (last update) and there were issues.

Few people on Discord cannot get the wallet to sync with the network (fresh install of the latest binary for Windows)

I have another copy on Linux.  That one always works.

I think this is a good project, a clear direction, worth pursuing, hope the development team can go far in the future.
have project airdrop or bounty ?

No.

It's against the rules of this forum to give away free PASC.

Are you serious bro?

I have been using the original Das Keyboard without letters on it for over 10 years.

The really loud one.

The only markings are "Das Keyboard" printed on the top left.

It still works like new after millions of keystrokes.

That was a good deal.  I got it as a gift (free) and it keeps clicking.

Backlit keyboards piss me off.  Super bright because of the 'design' limitations LED IPS screens burn my eyes.  I have an LG that is too bright at 7% brightness.

<3 technology.

But I will take that to another department.

Open Notepad.exe.  Mash palm until satisfied.  Copi Pasta™

I'm on Kali Linux.

Open Notepad.exe is not a valid command.

I use vi(m) from the terminal.

You did a nasty post by assuming everyone is still using Windows/MacOS (few too many versions).

Forced updates and reboots get annoying.  So do driver updates and other unnecessary updates.

Minimum requirements to run Linux for free are very low.  It runs at full speed on an Intel Atom SoC.

I have it running on GPD Pocket (custom build with every driver working, not the one it shipped with).

I'm old-school.  I use the keyboard for everything.

I think you can tell that I really like Windows and iOS.

I'm not a big fan of open source and being able to repair things when they break.

I took this picture few months ago:

It just works like other products.  It auto tethers to cellular data in fraction of a second.

@9Bank

I traded 1 Zec that I mined for ~300 PASC today.

I don't have much prior computer experience.  I just got my 1st PC 2 years ago.

Took about 5 minutes on Poloniex.

Why would I sell or buy?

I already did on polo many times.

That exchange has existed, but it was shutdown for some time.  It only did small amount which is good.  Polo has pretty much no limits depending on the level.

It's for Europe only.  Where I am ATM, there is no way to convert any crypto into FIAT.

Hodl.  PASC is ~ 60 cents US.

I have no idea what BCH is.

I only have 600,000 PASC, few ZEC that I mined and ~ 1 BTG that I mined.

Sending FIAT to an exchange is a risk that I cannot accept.

BCH is not a FIAT. BCH is Bitcoin Cash the fourth biggest crypto currency measured by market cap.

You can't trade PascalCoin directly against Bitcoin Cash at Poloniex.

The limit to small amount below 10 PASC is a temporary security measure.

Yes.  I know what BTH is.  I don't have any.  900$ per coin is ridiculous.

I believe it was a result of one of too many HFs of BTC.

So if I didn't hold any BTC when it forked, I didn't receive BTH, or BTG... etc.

I do realize that I need to trade any crypto that I have to BTC then to PASC on polo.

10 PASC limit is a great idea.  IMHO.  Polo let's you add in a buy/sell order for thousands at a time (PASC) and if it executes at the wrong time... big mistake.

That's what makes your exchange great for practising trading.  Losing couple dollars is not the same as losing your life savings.

Cheers.

Where is it possible to negotiate PASA? The PASC 42 million limit will be the same as the PASA limit, is that it? Each block found is an open PASA? Sorry, but I still don't understand PASC technology! By the way, why does the blockchain PASC act is 17,000 days? This leads to the year 1969! Could someone explain this?

PASA is PascalCoin Accounts. 5 new PASAs are created in each new block as a reward to the miners.

PASAs are traded more or less like coins. There are several options to buy PASAs, including in the Wallet.

The maximum numbers of PASCs and PASAs is not absolute. It could be changed in the future in new versions.

I'm using nightraven's link to https://exchange.frizen.eu - this is where a second exchange actually exists. If you're reading this, you should at least practice selling/buying - or really just listing your intentions to sell or buy. I've just begun playing at the site. From what I see, the other party will send 0.0001 PASC and a payload dialogue accepting the trade. I guess the BCH (Bitcoin Cash) payment address will be supplied by the seller in a return payload message to the inquiring buyer.

It's actually not complicated and just requires a fair understanding of the PASC wallet. Grin

The fact that Maxcoin's developers are still working is worth noting.

lol..
So a project with noone working on it has the same ability to advance as a project that has a active development team.

Is there not some kind of IQ test, that we can  do before people are allowed to waste peoples time, and to stop idiotic posting ?
The dribbling of a incontinent BABOONS BACKSIDE would be better smeared across the screen than ..
"The fact that Maxcoin's developers are still working is worth noting."

There is an IQ test for that sort of stuff.  But it's not the general IQ test.

You would have to meet the active developers working on it and look at them coding away.

In person, not over a web forum.  That also tests that they are human.

Have a drink with them and ask general, common knowledge type questions.

I only know one person IRL that I can actually have a conversation that is meaningful.

I will stop my idiotic posting, because I am wasting my time.
