81  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 07, 2013, 09:17:51 AM
Someone still needs to sign into your CoinLenders account to request the withdrawal. 2FA hasn't been disabled.
I suppose they do. It still seemed like a fairly quick transition and feels a bit less secure to me now. I suppose it's equally secure though.

Excellent! everyone please read all the forum regularly, to see if TF comes up with a new great idea and blocks your BTC to promote it.
I thought my bitcoins were safely secured behind an obscure password and 2fa but really they were just behind my email address. Hack my email address with an easy to type password and you have all of my bitcoins unless I happened to check here or the coinlenders account page and realise that my security had somehow dropped considerably.

I've now made an input.io account so they should be secured again but I don't appreciate the dropped security without my knowledge.
83  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Casascius Aluminium Coins - 10 coins for 0.04 BTC [IN HAND] (UK/EU/WW) on: July 05, 2013, 08:53:25 AM
Finally I have enough time to look at my lovely new coins. Received exactly 200. Some are scratched but this is understandable since they are aluminium and they've been in the post twice now. They were well packaged though and the price was very fair. I don't think piit79 will be making any money from these. Great service to the community. I've left trust to the value that I paid him - 0.82 BTC.

Thanks again piit79. I hope my friends like them. I'll be funding them with 0.01BTC hopefully with semi-vanity public addresses for mini keys. We'll see how many addresses my raspberry pi generates over 2 weeks and how many of them fit with my friends names.

Dougie.
84  Economy / Lending / Re: (loaned) looking for a paypal loan, kinda intresing deal as it pays back in BTC on: July 05, 2013, 08:08:05 AM
Just thought I'd update this thread. vm1990 sent me 1.7 BTC for the first 100 payment. He then asked for a second loan. I sent him 75 and he sent me 1.2 BTC.

So in total I risked 175 but at one time the most I risked was 100. I've put down trust to the value of 2.9BTC though.

Great guy and always giving updates on the pool.

Thanks again vm1990.

That's really good! Thanks very much for doing that. I think it is a very useful implementation, especially the way you've done it. Very easy to use. Now I'll work out how to generate loads of mini keys to find some vanity ones!

You're welcome!

Considering the vanity minikeys. Are you talking about the private keys, or the corresponding public keys? If you're talking about the private keys: throw in a bounty and I can make a minikey vanity generator for you Smiley. I have done a quick test, and generated a sheet full of (private) minikeys starting with 'SBitKoot'. The page finished loading in a few seconds. Generating vanity public keys? That might take some more time...
I was more thinking the corresponding public keys. I was just going to let my computer generate some mini keys for a while and sift out a few 3 letter ones for friends so I can put the first bits from blockchain.info on the coins and show them how they can see their balance.

Supposedly a package arrived for me today that sounds like it would be the coins. I'm out of town for a week or so but will update when I'm back.

Thanks!
88  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] Project: Private Key Label Printer for BitAddress.org on: June 25, 2013, 06:41:40 AM
Great job guys! These are really good. I will fund a selection of mine like this and let you know how they go.

I also want a few vanity ones with first bits at the bottom but I think it would be easier just to make them myself.

I have hacked together a version where you can provide your own private keys: BitAddress fork dougie. The first labels are created based on the provided keys. When all provided keys are used, the remaining labels are created as normal (using generated keys).

You can input your own private keys (minikey or full key) in the 'Use these keys' field. The format you have to use is as follows: key_1;top_text_1;bottom_text_1;key_2;top_text_2;bottom_text_2

Let me know what you think. If this is a popular feature, I can implement it in a more permanent fasion (some better error checking etc.).

I reported that auction a couple days ago.. I'm sure others did as well..  Wink

Thanks! You did me a big favor. You really did.

So it got removed from ebay?! Are you still going to try and sell it?
92  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Large bitcoin mining farm mining 4 blocks a day having made 1600BTC on: June 20, 2013, 10:10:25 PM
IMO bad for bitcoin unless we can reveal the user as non-threatening for the network.
I don't think it makes much difference. They're still processing transactions. It's costing them a lot to mine that quickly. And I think they were using TOR to relay the blocks. They seem to have stopped mining to this address anyway.
93  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | Lowest House Edge (1%) | Instant Betting on: June 20, 2013, 09:52:21 PM
Everyone is claiming they have won quite a bit. But, I have lost more than I have won.
Yeah, don't worry. I lost too! I always loose money on these sites. Quite fun playing though.

The house always wins...

That is JavaScript code.
So it is...

Anyway it's working now. Thanks.
95  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | Lowest House Edge (1%) | Instant Betting on: June 20, 2013, 02:41:00 PM
Did api_bet.php used to give a 404 error? I don't have php set up or any way to post data at the moment so I can't test it.

[edit] Never mind. It's working now!

Thanks.
96  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Casascius Aluminium Coins - 10 coins for 0.04 BTC [IN STOCK] (UK/EU/WW) on: June 20, 2013, 02:33:00 PM
Update: I was still waiting for a shipping confirmation from Casascius, so imagine my surprise when I received a fairly heavy USPS box this morning.
They look good! I was expecting to wait another couple of weeks!  Grin

Damn, I'm unlucky! Betted 4 times at 95% chance to win and lost twice! Free bitcent gone!

Site seems nice. I was going to try out the investment but I lost too quickly! I'll deposit some more next week and try out some more!

Good luck with the site!

Interesting idea! I like it. Was a bit confused that my post count had been cut this morning!
