I was wracking my brain on a way to honor Hal, and this is the idea I came up with. I shared on Reddit, Twitter, and other places, but I thought I would share here too. I propose we rename 0.0000001 BTC as the Finney. Just as we honor Satoshi for 0.00000001. Or using scientific notification: 1e-7 BTC = 1 finney 1e-8 BTC = 1 satoshi You can see other comments/discussion on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2ewp3z/i_propose_we_rename_00000001_btc_as_the_finney/Not sure how something like this becomes official, but I guess if enough people use it, then it becomes part of the Bitcoin language.

I wanted to know if there was an interest in having a Satoshi Square type meetup in Montreal. I was thinking of holding it at Victoria Square during a lunch hour, 12-2pm, during the work week. I am aiming for the last week of August. Please let me know here or this thread at the Canadian Bitcoin Community: https://www.coinforum.ca/discussion/290/satoshi-square-montreal if there is any interest....

I think local trading here would be awesome, too. It's much better in person

It might be interesting to offer courses on setting up wallet and other basics of Bitcoins especially in two streams, English and French, would be good.

seems it's still down, and no word on twitter either.

I am thinking of creating an on boarding experience that makes it easy for Canadians to get into Bitcoins. i was thinking of offering something like even trade in Canadian Tire Money for Bitcoins of same value. I would limit to max of $5.00 to limit potential fraud.
How it works: New Bitcoin users send up to 5.00 in Canadian Tire money, and email a photo proof from a post office receipt. Bitcoins would than be transferred into the account. Do you think their would be appetite for such an exchange? I think it would be a great way to help users in Canada get into Bitcoins and get rid of some drawer space.
If you are a Canuck, I'd love to hear your thoughts here or on coinforum.ca

Hi all, Took forever to figure out why I couldn't post. Something should be entered in the help.
I agree, it should be emailed or written on the signup page. I had to use Google search to figure it out!
