1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: August 21, 2017, 09:42:58 PM
Hi,
I would like to undertand something, in what to mine it gives for 8 cards of 1070 +4k/s and in your miner all those get only +2kh/s ? how come???
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1070 GTX owners, what are you mining now? on: August 21, 2017, 09:21:43 PM
What is your profit please?
which pool u use?
With 1070 gtx card you can mine lots of coins. For example eth and w8 pump in few months with coins. But you also can buy
signatum, dernarius, vtc, lbc. Dont look at wtm, becuse you will change coin every dan few time. Just mine coin with
best chance to explode in price, for example eth...

I mainly mine the ETH.

Thank u all for the suggestions,
could u please share what algo, and pool u use along with the profit?
In whatTomine, it gives $8.82 for a card per day, is that even possible? its almost $25.05 for 8 cards.

Also, I DO NOT PAY FOR ELECTRICITY, SO WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST MORE, Cus I found what is in what to mine a bit exagerated.

Hi, I have an 8th GPU mining rig, Ive been using nicehash since I brought the equipment GTX 1070 is doing today aprox 2.2$, do you have any other suggestions, other miners and what about dual mining? Huh
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 x 1070 gtx on nicehash only 20$/day is this correct? on: July 07, 2017, 07:48:03 PM
in 3 weeks or so your 8 gtx 1070 will be making $6 per day and you will remember this day when you were complaining about $20 a day hehe

every investment could be turn like that, do not moke. remember that nobody knew cryptocurrencies could reach this price. many were fortunate though.

Thank you guys, although mining these days is disappointing, hopefully this will become more lucrative.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 8 x 1070 gtx on nicehash only 20$/day is this correct? on: July 07, 2017, 05:40:44 PM
Hi, ive an 8 gpu rig 1070 gtx, and because I was trying to settle things out until I recieved my M.2 adapter for the 8th one, I was using nicehash in which i get around 20$/day.
I tried EWBF for Zcash, and all the 8 were getting around 3500 Sol/s(440 each), so I figured out it was less than what is in nicehash.
Can u suggest any other profitable algo. or solutions please?

Hi, I get That I need to set more virtual memory.
How I can remove that window from coming, cuz sometimes the computer reboots, and this error keeps it from starting to mine.(Ive alerady set the maximum i can of virtual memory i cannot set more! I want only to stop that window)

Thank you.
could u please tell if its possible to make 9 GPUs work, because many said theyve tried it but it does not work.
try to use a sata ssd ,the ssd in m.2 slot occupys pcie channel, good luck, you might want to run 9 cards.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please help on making the 8th GPU M.2 working on ASUS PRIME Z270 A on: July 05, 2017, 08:24:01 AM
many thanks

That worked, thank u that was what I needed

Most likely your M.2-to-PCIe adapter card is misaligned in the connector. The ones I had to deal with had the alignment notch routed too wide. At least wide enough so that it lands either too far left or too far right and the contact pads don't align....

I'm glad it worked!  Those no-name M.2 adapters are real garbage Wink

Most likely your M.2-to-PCIe adapter card is misaligned in the connector. The ones I had to deal with had the alignment notch routed too wide. At least wide enough so that it lands either too far left or too far right and the contact pads don't align.

It takes a bit of effort and really steady hands to stick it in in such a way that it lands properly. One way to check is to look closely for the notch and it's relative position to the plastic "pin" in the connector. In my case the proper alignment was achieved when the plastic "pin" was not touching either side of the notch on the adapter card and was sort of sitting in the middle with air gaps on both sides. Had to use a magnifier and a flashlight for that. This position is unstable, so you have to hold it in place wile tightening the screw. And don't try to realign it when fully inserted or you can bend the pins in the connector or strip contact pads on the card. Just pull it out and try to shove it back in until it lands with the pin right in the middle.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Ive installed successfully everything on an Asus prime z270-a, 7 1070 gtx are working, the 8th one is not shown,
in device manager I cannot see any unauthorized device.
the 8th one is installed on one of the M.2 ports. The othet M.2 has my SSD drive. I tried both M.2 porths for the SSD drive and both are OK.
I followed setup of bios as described in many threads here(M.2.1 has auto and M.2.2 has X2).
thanks for any suggestions.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Operating system to mine with 1070 gtx ? on: June 08, 2017, 04:19:09 PM
EthOS - Decent, well built, once you learn its config, it is simple and convenient. Worth the $39 and comes on SSD, USB or download with them hosting a remote connect link for you to allows access your rig when it is online anywhere.

Win 10 - Pro obviously gives you more things in Windows... but for mining... Home works JUST FINE and I have yet to see a hash difference between Pro and Home and I run both.

Linux Distos - All the same except if you pull a prebuilt image with preloaded tools and drivers etc. That is what EthOS is. Any linux disto works but you will have to go through a lot of setup compared to the two above. If you know Linux, no issue, if not then you are in for a decent learning experience.

Win 7/8/8.1 - All fine, but i have MUCH BETTER stability on Win 10 then I ever had on 7/8. I no longer have any of these in my house, so I can no longer speak to present day hashrates on them.

Bottom line, you will definitely do better starting with an OS you know... do not dive into Linux, spend money on hardware and think you will have a miner up in a day, it won;t happen if you aren't already fluent. If that is the case, Win 10 is simple enough... install Win, update, install GPU driver, DL miner config and start... done. Tweak and set up remote control etc.

100% HONESTY - I like EthOS... but despite all my attempts to tune it, I get more hash from Windows every time. Not all AMD and Nvidia drivers are created equal and while EthOS is trying to use the best known version, I get better results using the Windows drivers.

Tips: I LOVE using Google's Chrome Remote Desktop to maintain my remote miners... easy simple and FREE! Email monitoring is a must so use it!

👍 Thank u very much for your explanation, its very helpful.

Hi I heard a lot about the difference between linux and windows in term of hashrate. Is this correct?
Please share with me your hashrate for whatever you mine(ETH, ZEC,...) and advise me for what to install there as OS?

Thank u.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 GPU Mining Rig : IS THIS CORRECT? on: June 04, 2017, 05:40:07 PM
I have a rig that is running 6 GPUs just fine with that PSU. I have a 7th card installed, but it just wont stay online. I will be swapping it out for a G2 1300 tomorrow to see if that fixes that. I know that it is running at least 1000 watts with just 6 cards, so i would suggest going with a dual PSU setup.

I have been experimenting with dual PSU rigs as well due to the shortage of the very popular G2 1300w PSU. I have 2 rigs that are nearly identical running 2 different PSU setups. 1 with 2x eVGA P2 750w and another with 1 eVGA P2 750 and a 1200w HP server PSU.

From what i have read you want all the risers powered by the same PSU as the MB/CPU. It works for me. Some good reading here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=57914.0

With the dual 750w setup, there aren't enough plugs to run all the GPUs on the secondary PSU (without splitters), so i have a 3 on the primary, and 4 on the secondary. Unfortunately the primary is pulling 740w, so it is not at peak efficiency.

For the other rig, i have the server PSU running all the GPUs, and all the risers/MB/CPU running on the primary 750w. Note that this way the primary PSU is only pulling 450w or so. You can get the server PSU for a good price here:  http://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-1200-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-platinum-94-zec-dash-eth/ I prefer this method, and have ordered several more of these server PSUs for upcoming builds. The only thing to remember is to power on secondary first, and primary last. When powering down, it is reverse. Power off the primary first, and then the secondary. That's it!

Ah ok
taking that in consideration, Ill add an other PSU .
Thanks

Hi, after more than 2 weeks going through Internet, I finally order items for building my 8 GPU rig (Thanks to Nokia555 and NetopyrMan for the suggestions), Ive choosen gigabyte gtx 1070 g1 gaming rock edition, for the PSU I ordered Corsair AX1200i (1200 W).

- Is this PSU enough for the 8 GPUs?
- Please if somebody have mesurement to build 8 GPU frame?

Thank u.

It depends on the GPU's and if you plan on dual mining. I recently did a build of the BBT mining case below out of two 8ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum, one 8ft 1" x 2" piece of pine and #8 1/2" self-tapping screws. The case will fit up to 7 RX 4XX/5XX if you put them about 1 inch apart. For 8 GPU's I would increase the length of the longest frame section by 4 inches from 19.2 to 24 inches and I would also increase the frame height by 2 inches from 9.25 to 11.25 inches, which means you will need to use three 8ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum instead of two.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5xNrlxsCVs

The only tools needed were a drill with a 3/32" hex titanium drill bit to drill pilot holes and a #2 phillips screwdriver bit. A hacksaw with a 32 tooth blade and a plastic miter box to cut the aluminum and wood. It took about 4-5 hours since it was my first time building one. The case is very sturdy and can support up to 7 GPU's. You could also use wood or 1/16" angled aluminum pieces if you want to save money. Way cheaper and quicker than ordering a case online.
Thank u this is quite helpful, its less expensive.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 GPU Mining Rig : IS THIS CORRECT? on: June 04, 2017, 04:46:52 PM
I would probably opt for a 1500w or two 750w PSUs. 1200 may work, but it'll definitely be pushing it.

Depending on what spacing you want, ~24" width should fit 8 with a couple of inches in between.

Thank u Ill think about 2

Why don't you get the GTX1070, should be much higher mh/s, my gtx1060 does only 20.5-21mh/s.

Thank u.

does it connect to PCIe x1 ? is it efficient? and what to use to connect ?

You must use PCI-E risers for that. Check this for some info about profitability: https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=calc

oh thats great thanks, can u suggest what type of riser exactly to get as the motherboard has 3 pcie x16 + 4 pcie x1 ?

Hi,

I ordered myself these: https://www.amazon.com/6-Pack-PCI-E-Powered-Adapter-Extension/dp/B01N3UVJHM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1495870194&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=usb+pci-e+riser&psc=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=mylifegadgets-20&linkId=bcf6f982a54b3d4dee0ead7d8a8f1c7e

Thank u, I got them
