101  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: October 09, 2023, 05:43:47 AM
The best advice you will get is to engage actively and positively on the forum, and you will be rewarded with merit. Just have something real to give to the forum, and you might be lucky enough to earn a merit like the one you earned from your local board a few hours ago.

There is one statement I came across in this forum: "Don't chase merit; make quality posts and allow merit to chase you." Some local boards are also good at helping one another, especially when they see you contributing actively to your local board.

My advice: Look for that area where you can be productive and start making organic posts there; genuinely, don't try to outsmart anyone in the name of chasing merit, as that might land you into trouble.

hmmm good idea on this, i think have been missing out something in the past on how to get, which you have just given me a clue, am either good on those stuff he mentioned, no idea in sport and others, with this advice you gave out, i will get hold of it on my LOCAL BOARD thanks much appreciated  Grin Grin Wink
102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long to learn trading? on: October 08, 2023, 12:19:07 PM
I spoke to a tutor who teaches trading, and he said for his lectures, he teaches for an extended period of nine months for anyone who wants to learn trading from him. Please I like to read the personal experience of some traders here, how long did it take you to learn to trade profitably, and what was the hardest thing to learn? did it take you weeks, months or years? Do you think that trading can be learnt well in a short time like three weeks for a quick trader? Can someone who is a proffesional trader just go straight to the point pointing out what is needed to make a successful trader to a newbie to learn quickly?

Truth to be told i dont think we have a specific time, that we stop learning new things when it comes to tradoing aspects, have been trading since 2017 till date and i can boldly tell you that i still learn things each pass day of my life on the journey.
103  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Understanding basic trading terms and acronyms on: October 08, 2023, 12:12:51 PM
I think we the newbie here should be conversant with some trading terms here like CFDs, binance, indices, DIP and HODL and so one. I plead with some of our senior members here to create  threads that will educate us on this trading terms and acronyms and also the right techniques to follow in trading so that it will guide us during trading times. I know everything in life is about stages but it is important that we have a pre-knowledge of how trading works and how to follow the right concept.
please go through you post and put in the correct sentence, the red mark i indicated, also let me come in that place you said right techniques, we dont have right techniques you just have to work towards mastering it on a long run thats when its going to be the right techniques for you.
104  Economy / Reputation / Re: irfan_pak10 is a scammer on: October 07, 2023, 02:34:15 AM
What's really happening here, regarding COMBO PAYMENT, well at first Irfan assured October but no Particular date of distribution, which is just getting everyone panicked, and asking a whole lot of questions I think what we should learn from this is projects should be specific on their dates because it's painful, we worked hard for it and we stayed 3 good months before payment now getting to the month of payment we are being told they wanna adjust the date again hell no That's more like TRYING TO RIP everyone of their stress and hard work. On the other hand, this post wasn't needed to be created at least we have seen some past results of Irfan on handling projects... also we just finished first week of October regarding the payment of Combo so let's still be patient and see what happens this week we are about to embark on.
105  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you must follow or use the services of trading signals providers on: October 07, 2023, 01:24:11 AM
If you must follow or use the services of trading signals which is not bad in itself you should do so smartly. By smartly, I mean that at the beginning it is all about following and understanding the thinking process behind those signals and learning everyday. If you insist on using them, do not do so blindly, validate each signal provider by putting in the work. Record their past four to six months' trades on a spreadsheet and check them on historical charts. After you have done this, you may now proceed to choosing the ones consistently in profit despite their losing trades. The advantage is that they will help you reduce your time spent in analysis. This is one of the best ways to make  use of or follow trading signals channels or services. What is your opinion?

In my own opinion, this is more like saying its best you even learn how to provide the signal for your self, because if you put in all this work you are to do all together, its probably what they are doing too RESEARCH, READ, and GAIN the KNOWLEDGE . Rather than to waste it in trying to investigate how come about the signal, and their past presentation or RESULT
106  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How una take de manage looking at your screen for a long time? on: October 07, 2023, 01:18:32 AM
Working from home has a lot of advantages ranging from the comfort it gives to the flexibility part of it and of course the financial benefit we get from it. Because of these things, we sometimes get carried away and pay little attention to the part of us that bears the serious effect of this work "that's the eyes".

Like safety people will put it " keep it simple, keep it safe" Wisdom demands that we, amid the comfort and goodies that comes with working from home, not forget the safety part which is a very vital part of the hustle.

Sometimes we will look at the screen for a very  long time and loads of water will drop down our eyes on a regular and headache will just come from Nowhere and sometimes our eyes will even swell up but we go just de fire down

For me, when e start to de worry me, I go just take small break for sometimes after which I continue with what I'm doing.

As we try to work safely and rightly, I would love to get your opinion on what you do when you start feeling pains in your eyes while working.

Would also want to know your experiences in terms of managing continuous exposure to screen light.

Me na trader i be, like i dey into the FOREX & CRYPTO MARKET, thats to show say i dey look screen 24/7 none stop even my phone screen so weytin i do be say i dey use dark mode for my phone own and for my pc i reduce the light to around 55 to 50, e no dey worry me. Me self on a normal i no like sunlight, and na my 6 to 7 years now. The only problem i get na when eye dey itch me e go come dey sweet me which i asked my mom she said na family something, in which i don see her in plenty occasion she dey scratch eye.
107  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What happened to Crypto Volatility..??? on: October 05, 2023, 07:51:42 PM
So i've been a trader since early 2017 and i have never seen such low volatility in market. Even at the time of 2018 bear run the things were quite slow but this time its totally different. It makes a move and consolidates for like a month or two now. Which was never the case in past.

Its possible that only i feel like that and other people still see it like the normal bitcoin trend. But there was fun every week in crypto before.

What do you guys think ?? Is it just me or some of you others feel the same??

And if it is like that then what do you all think when the wild ride start again like old days ??

To me i think the hype of crypto is dead, if you could remeber back then everyone wanna learn crypto everyone wanna buy one or two type of coin and so much more, but now i think many have seen the results of not having or doing proper research before investing in,  And many are pulling out as the case may be. With that been said, i think thats the reason market is No longer volatile like before even a WHOLE future market too. like am weak at times waiting for hours before my trade goes my way.
108  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We Nigerians never ready yet for a beta new Naija. on: October 05, 2023, 03:11:56 PM
I the see people dey comment dey make posts about how bad the economy and country dey and some people dey even tok say nothing gud go fit com out again despite whoeva becom presido for we nation Naija.

a lot of tins just the make us loose focus on seeing say the beta change we dey cry and pray for e dey our hand and na only wen we Nigerians don really ready to take that change into our hands by all means necessary na then we fit start to see life for inside the Naija but till then na just so so from one level of sufa to anoda we go dey face till we decide to ready for de new beta change we de find from we gofment.

I know my country people, the typical Nigerian wen him put him mind in to do somtin he dey do am to the fullest to make sure him get wetin him dey hunger for. make we use cryptocurrency lik bitcoin for example. see as Nigerians enter the crypto market one hand inno even tey sef naw na we dey front for Africa and even for the world if them dey tok about 10 countries wey citizens dey actively involved for crypto Naija go follo for that too 10, na bcos we put our mind wit hunger to do well.

Na with same energy too if we all don really ready for a new beta Nigeria inno go take 2secs we go get the results coming. Na the powa of Naija be that but plenty of us neva start to mk use of that powa wen it com for gofment and politics na why we country Neva be as we want.
you sef reason am!

My own side wey i go talk put be say ehh NAIJA na better country, no CAP, yes leaders follow make am bad even me and you too, but the main thing here be say people wey dey japa go another country dey follow make NAIJA look like say things no go ever better, because ehh if you see the way them dey hype this japa, e dey follow create bad influence say naija no GOOD meanwhile naija na country wey be say ehh forget, many things dey to talk but make we just leave am there.
109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop loss on: October 04, 2023, 10:56:17 PM
I had some scenarios of my stop loss being pushed down a little bit incurring  me more loss what could be the possibilities.

According to some post I have come across so far, the Market makers are there to make money by hitting stops, and most likely our brokers are also involved in this too, they manipulate even if you place it away from price action they still can see it. These made me at times it's better to cut my losses than Use stops.
110  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading can ruin you on: October 04, 2023, 06:05:40 PM
Trading is most times profitable and sometimes challenging to traders, but it can ruin you just as gambling if you don't know how before venturing into it,  I have had a handful of terrible experience while trading and I discovered that it can return you to square one in terms of your finances if precautions is not taken.

Though am a better trader now, but I still thred with caution,  the best way for newbie to navigate their way in the market is to buy and hold, then sell when the price goes up.
When it comes to future market, newbie should stay off because it's for experience traders, even if you run a poll of people to tell of their experience in trading in this forum, %80 of people will rule out trading as a no go area based on their terrible experience while trading.

So newbie, stay of trading futures if you know nothing about technical analysis or fundamental analysis for not to be ruined.

Trading doesn't respect anyone oh, NEWBIES or NOT it ruins everyone mentally and psychologically, at the moment as am writing this am ruined mentally on a trade i missed a huge profit and now am still hanging on if peradventure it will go my way. its not easy to trade... but when you know how to trade you will be grateful to yourself for having the knowledge.
111  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How to navigate through these challenging economic times on: October 04, 2023, 11:40:31 AM
The way hunger dy land don double, price of rice is now worth more than the minimum wage of the country and people they really suffer, and by suffer I mean things they very hard because since in the past administration, we don dy complain say things don hard but as e be now, e be like say past government that we thought was bad is now fair as compare to wetin this government don showed us under 6 months wey dem don do for office.

This suffering reach everybody including people wey gather before, no citizens is left on this. Wetin I wan share with una be say na him be how we go take cope with wetin economy don be. As we fight back the government to make things better, we self go make sure say we get energy, dy Kampe ready for them because na who dy alive na him see tomorrow.

How can we adjust as a citizen of this country, here are my takes:

Go for quality and less cost products: The advantage of this is that it keeps you within your financial budget and the best way to go about this is to make a scale of preference when you want to buy something, make a list about quality products you want to buy and go for the one that is cheap in price. For instance, we know that the when it comes to electronic product, LG and Samsung product are very cost in this our country but there are more even high quality brand but because we always care about buying higher brand, we don't patronize the other brands. If you give some other products a trial, you will forget to use those most sort out brands, same with food products and other things we use at home.

Make you double your husle: Things no funny, I think practically everything wey dy this our country don double for price and if you must survive this and want to stay ahead of this prices, you need to also double your income. If you dy rely on source of income for this naija, e no go take you far, you need to look into other place to be able to overcome this cost of living.

Buy your food items in bulk and cook for yourself: Food vendors wey I know almost all of them has increased the price menu list of their kitchen and the other ones wey never increase has reduce the quantity of their food, so buying food now sef dy expensive and the only way to balance well for this time of economy na make you dy cook your self. Even if u no sabi, start am one day, you go improve with time and YouTube sef dy or make you invite your friends or babe to arrange am for you.
You can buy food once in a while and be doing the cooking most of the time, this way, you go fit dy save money.

Make use of public Transport: This one na for them ogas wey get Car, to fuel car now to go out is now like buying a goat to slaughter especially people that are use to fueling tanks and others that use high end engine that consume a lot of fuel, the only way to cut down expenses is to go for commercial or public transport which are cheaper compare to fueling a complete car.

Keep your savings off Naira: We want to help the economy by keeping our life savings in our local currency but it has been unstable for a while and as price of things increase, the purchasing power is coming down everyday; instead of keeping your money in Naira, convert them to foreign currency like dollar instead of leaving them idle. It's better they are converted and appreciate in value than doing nothing or decline further.

Above all, make sure you take care of your health, there is hard times for everyone because of bad governance but na our responsibility to stay health to see another bright day.

Na people wey dey leave expensive life na them dey use FOOD VENDOR or lets say na them dey visit eatry because like this, that shoe no size me lie lie, i no fit try am for this economy. as for the savings, from day one me no dey even keep my money for NIARA because e dey useless so dollar all the way, but this one me come get ride i no go fit just park my car for one place na. anyways sha i no dey even go out.
112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My First Advice To Beginner Traders on: October 03, 2023, 09:47:30 PM
Before I proceed any further it's important to know that sometimes our knowledge outside this forum may not equate our ranks here so  that doesn't mean quality information cannot be gotten from a low ranked person on this forum, some of us are good at what we do outside here.
Okay, these two lines make me interested in reading it in detail. Sometimes, I ignore it when I see tutorial-type posts from newbies. There is a reason behind it. Most of them come into this forum and post AI-generated content to get some quick merits to rank their profile. It's nice to see someone genuinely interested in writing these things from themselves.

one of which is, you get rich quick as soon as you venture in to trading. This has to be the height of falsehood in trading. It's true you can get Rich trading no doubts, but then you will have to put in some work as the wealth doesn't come suddenly or as soon as you start trading, so one should take off such mindset, have a change of such mind set if you did have such before as you may be disappointed sooner than later.

Hehe, this is one hundred percent real, bro. Not only trading but people have this idea about most of the online activities. People think it's easy to make money online, and everyone can do it. People think it's easy to make money from gambling, from Fiverr, from upwork without skills. I am one who makes some pocket money from the internet and people ask me why I don't teach them? They think it's super easy.

I use to think am the only one that comes across this same question on RED, not on till i read between the lines and saw yours. If trading was that easy trust me no body will be broke, its not easy the psychology behind it is something else. And they will be thinking you dont wanna help.
113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: No gains, 1 Minute Scalping Strategy on: October 03, 2023, 12:21:44 PM
Hi everyone,

I am a newbie.

I started trading BTCUSDT P. and testing a 1 minute scalping strategy (including several indicators) at the moment.

So far... I don't manage to gain any profits from the trades that I did place lately. I do manage to win trades, but the issue is that the fees killing my profits!

I am wondering if you have any suggestions regarding the above?
Maybe I should move to longer timeframe and not scalping in order to make profits?

Many thanks
Mike

One good advise i will give to you is stay off scalping if you are not a fast trader, because i think this term should be for those who are stable at home doing nothing and have stable internet, because my dear scalping has really messed up many traders psychology, but still wont understand or probably dont wanna understand the fact, for me am a day trader and this has really gave me a peaceful mindset when am in the market dealing.
114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: October 03, 2023, 12:17:36 PM
Everyone knows that we can learn from the past to correct mistakes.
As a result, many economists attempt to predict the future through history.

We also have a known fact from the past.
The "Bitcoin halving" is correlated with price increases.

I'd like to pose a new question here.
What are your thoughts on using past charts(candlesticks) that similar current ongoing charts(candlesticks) to make price predictions?

When asked this question to many professors and investors, a common response is, "Candlesticks reflect the psychology of investors."

What are your thoughts on this matter?

In my trading journey, have been seeing things on the chart repeats its self, so past charts actually do help you to have that 100% confluence that the trade you are about to embark will definitely play out fine so past actually gives you that assurance to correct any mistakes you have been making and also help you not to have doubts.
115  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Will our girls ever change? on: October 02, 2023, 08:38:19 PM
The idea say "nobody really de reason you" don affect our girls negatively on a serious note

The majority of girls are just concerned about competing with themselves and will go as far as doing anything just to measure up with there fellow girls

You go see girl when never see better food chop with wig when de more expensive than her house rent all in the name of measuring up

Most of them no even de skilled and the only thing when them think say de reasonable for them to do na to go into hookup or date guys when de ready to pay for those frivolous expenses.

After we go hear say street boys don use them plus up and we go de blame those niggas when on a normal this girl no even wan help themselves.

I know say somehow, it's almost their nature now that they love to be spent on but the fact say so many of them don became very lazy and dependent on others de very bad

If you try see girl when no de into hookup and no de too compare you to her friends boyfriend, hold am strong oh! Her kind no plenty again for market.

luckly for me i don catch one for life na so i dey hold am tight like this, i no wan take any chance say i let her go, this one self dey do pass wife, i never even meet the family but las las i sabi the family, i just dey pray make i get money go straight to point no wasting of time. this generation don really wack i swear i just dey feel sorry for some gals.
116  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Our naira no follow again on: October 02, 2023, 06:46:56 PM
I can still recall the good old days when one hundred naria can get you a plate of food, but look at our naira now, five and ten naira are totally useless, while five hundred naria can't get you a good plate of food.

As is stance now all our income is being invested into food, as if we only come to this life to eat food, because of the high cost of living.
I still don't know how dy want the common man to survive, and I also wonder how people without jobs are fairing, because even those with jobs are struggling massively.

Everyday price of things are increasing, fuel, kerosene and gas prices is too high, but we just can't do without them.

Today we are celebrating independence as if there is anything to celebrate for, the only thing worth celebrating is the gift of life.
Right now is just to hope and pray .

Anyway, na naija blood I be, E no get how e wan be wey e never be before, naija for life.

My brother i no believe say dollar ehh for this life go reach 1k as in ehh i shock, so like this just $5 na 5k be that oh, oboy  trading go deyvex person now ehh, because if your stops wey u put gets hit, maybe say na $10 you use for stop loss and e hit 10k don waka. Grin Grin Grin

118  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How ona dey cope for 9ja noisy environment? on: October 01, 2023, 08:27:15 PM
Good morning my people. I don dey think how ona wey dey this forum they take cope for this naija noisy environment. so I come they think of many things like!

Wife and children wahala
To stay for environment wey plenty children dey
Leaving close to school
Leaving close to the market
Leaving close to bear bar or any entertaining firm

Because most of us find ourselves in one environment or the other way dey disturb us, and e dey disturb your line of business (bitcointalk) some of this factor wey I list above they cause distraction. So I come dey ask ona to shear ona expirence and possible solution to this kind thing?

My brother me I no like noise oh I swear I like place wey dey calm and quiet so weytin I do be say, I Rent house for area wey I know say noise no dey like estate, wey I dey stay no noise the only noise wey I dey get na Sunday service from one church and secondly if NEPA no give light den na Gen noise you go get but the noise no dey last for long, because Power dey always come. So na my own part be this for where I dey stay.
119  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Psychology and tips on: October 01, 2023, 08:02:11 PM
I
Not only that but the higher the leverage, the lower the percentage of traders who consistently make money. In other words, by using leverage you get closer to a 100% probability of failure and the more leverage you use, the closer to 100%. Let's see without leverage, only
As I say, add leverage and you'll be close to a 100% failure rate.
That is what most traders who lost money don't understand,  This was practically what I was doing using a high leverage to trade when I started up as a newbie trader,  Actually non of those trades was in the money, sometimes I fuckinly increase the leverage to 50×,  and that was the worst time in my trading journey and the market fucked with me, got screwed back to back until I learn.

To be more profitable, Simply apply lower leverage be patient, and ride your account up slowly if have a working strategy.

At first i wasn't this greedy type of a trader but the problem i was having then was my strategy not going well with me, so went round doing it the wrong way by trying to learn every strategy i see on youtube and trust me it messed with me badly. But now what i did was to master it, get good with it and stay discipline.
