Whoever is mining Ravencoin to RSa5JNhT8CQT44DDJ9gq2ospns5r9zBZM5 please update your wallet to 2.1.1. Your node is voting no and your blocks are the single reason assets aren't activating.

Can someone explain what this guy is saying?

and this as well

What is this voting going on plz?  Tongue

What is the difference between "enabled" and "active" masternodes as shown on http://heliumstats.online/mynodes/mynodes.php

Do "enabled" but not "active" nodes earn block rewards?

They'll change status from active to enabled once they get paid. Hope you managed to get everything working.

Yes I did. Quite an easy and straight forward setup actually other than the exact 1,000 amount issue. It was super easy even without the setup script. A+ for user-friendliness.  Probably it would be good to specifically mention if the amount is not exactly 1,000 it won't work in the setup guide.

Do you believe the send EXACTLY 1000 coins to the mn address instruction does not cover it or is unclear?

Can someone here write the fee of these pools:
1. http://www.noncepool.com
2. https://bis-pool.net/

10%, as is eggpool.

10% fee is a bit high no?

Regular coin:
- drop files onto a vps, you have a pool
- 10's of competing pools, generic miner, low fees, no dev involved.

Existing bismuth pools:
- from scratch (eggpool, bis-pool) or significantly modded (nonceppol) pool
- from scratch, custom gpu miner
- some pools dev are involved in the community and coin dev (bizzzy, egg)

All Bismuth pools did custom hard work and invested significant amount of money and dev time to get a working pool+miner.

Anyone is free to do the same and open a Bismuth pool with lower fees.

hi man, thanks for the reply and the info. it make sense now for sure.

Could be there is an issue with the Slack invite link (I'm getting the same error): you can use this: https://join.slack.com/t/onetrollbox/shared_invite/enQtNDUyMDg5NzM1MzUxLTVlOTk4YTllZGU0ZmFiZWYyMTgxZWQwOGIwZmZmM2YxYjY2ZTk2YzI1MzI0Y2Y0NDdiODBhYTVjMjkzMzFjYjI

No need to calculate the fee, the client will do it for you. If you send 1000 HLM the client will add the fee on top automatically.

Thanks for the link.  How can I unlock the tokens and make them available to send from the old masternode address to the new one?

Thanks.

You have to enable coin control features. On helium wallet --> Settings --> Options --> Wallet Tab --> Check enable coin control features --> restart wallet.
Then go to Send Tab --> Click on open coin control --> Unlock your coins or do whatever

I don't have any such options in settings, I only have:

Encrypt wallet...
Change passphrase...
BIP38 Tool
MultiSend

There is nothing that says "options" under any of the top level drop down menus.

My version 0.15.2 calls this PREFERENCES, at the same time I have a top level menu called "settings" also that does not have those items.

I've corrected the Controller/Masternode(s) on the same machine, Windows OS guide and put all information in one place.
@Teela you might wanna correct the one in the website as well so it does not have any strange issues like the command "bind" which works only in unix-like OSs.

Anyway, i hope it will be helpful.

Configuration of Controller Wallet/Masternode Wallet on the same machine in Windows OS

Prerequisites:

    Helium Wallet running on your local computer with 1000 HLM for each masternode (amount of HLM needed for a masternode)
    Static IP Address with open ports for masternodes
    The machine has to be powered on 24/7

Installation of Master Wallet
1-Download from https://github.com/heliumchain/helium/releases and install/setup Wallet(Master) to default location or where you want it to be.
2-Start it and let it fully sync
3-Send your coins there (from exchange or import them to your Master Wallet). You will need to have 1000 coins plus fee for each MN you want to run.

Preparing Helium Masternodes

1 – Choose the place where you will hold you masternodes directories (you need some freespace for every masternode)
2 – Create folder “HLMMN1” there
3 – Copy file “helium-qt.exe” in folder “HLMMN1”
4 – Create in folder “HLMMN1” new folder “data”
5 – Copy file “blocks”, “chainstate”, "sporks", "zerocoin" in created folder “data”. In simple words just copy the blockchain data folders (not the wallet.dat or other files from root directory) from your master wallet to your MN data folder). Master Wallet's default data location is in User/Appdata/Roaming/Helium
6 – Rename “helium-qt.exe” to the “Heliummn1.exe”
7 – Open “Command Prompt” and type following Command:
Code:
 echo start Heliummn1.exe -datadir=./data > %homepath%/Desktop/startmn1.cmd
8 – Move file “startmn1.cmd” from Desktop to the “HLMMN1” folder
9 – Repeat the process from step 2 for each masternode you want to created, with
changing mn1 to mn2, mn3
10 – Run startmn1.cmd, startmn2.cmd and startmn3.cmd, wait for complete loading
wallets and complete syncing with blockchain
11 – Now you can exit from each running masternode wallets

Prepare Helium Controller Wallet

1 – Open your main/controller wallet where you have your HLM
2 – Go to Receive tab
3 – Press button “New address” and enter “Masternode 1” in Label (do not check “Stealth address”)
4 – Send exactly 1000 HLM to this address
5 – Wait for 1 confirmation of transaction and go to the Debug console
6 – Run command “masternode genkey” and write down generated key (this is your
masternode private key)
7 – Run command “masternode outputs” and write down hexnumbers (this is your
masternode tx) and digit after “:” (this is tx index)
8 – Go to User\AppData\Roaming\Helium and edit the masternode.conf or Click Tools then Open Masternode Configuration File and put your MN settings
For example
Code:
MN1
31.14.135.27:9009
892WPpkqbr7sr6Si4fdsfssjjapuFzAXwETCrpPJubnrmU6aKzh
8ba8caae2670bb38d43fb609e31a337d4d7b4fd4544f93b8cc3b8b3426409
0

where

Code:
-The name (masternode_alias) you gave your masternode
-The IP and port of the VPS
-The masternodeprivkey from step 1
-The first value from masternode outputs
-The second value from masternode outputs

Thus <masternode_alias> <masternodepublicIP:port> <masternodeprivkey> <txhash> <outputidx>

Additionally, open helium.conf which is in the same folder and put
Code:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=longer random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=xxxx (a port number different from MN port and MN rpcport) --> for example rpcport=2222
listen=0
server=1 --> this line is not mandatory
daemon=1 --> this line is not mandatory
logtimestamps=1 --> this line is not mandatory
maxconnections=256 --> this line is not mandatory

Configuring Helium Masternodes

1 – Go to “HLMMN1/data” folder
2 – Open ” helium.conf” in Notepad
3 – Add following Lines in there:

Code:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=long random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=2223
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=256
masternode=1
externalip=Your_PUBLIC_IP
masternodeaddr=Your_PUBLIC_IP:9009
masternodeprivkey=YOUR_MN_PRIV_KEY

Replace PORT with port for your Masternode 1, IP:PORT with your external ip and the same port for you Masternode 1
Replace PRIVKEY with masternode private key you generated with “masternode genkey” in controller wallet for Masternode 1

4 – Save it and repeat process for Masternode 2 and Masternode 3.

Start Helium Masternodes

1 – Now you can start all your masternodes with “startmn1.cmd”, “startmn2.cmd” and “startmn3.cmd”
2 – Go to controller wallet, check that your coins in Masternode 1, 2 and 3 addresses have at least 15 confirmations.
3 – Go to Masternodes tab and switch to the “My Masternodes”
4 – Press “Start All”

Your masternode(s) will be started now.
After some time, click update to see if its in the list and working
correctly.
In most cases it takes more than 24 hours to get the first hit.
When you start your MN(s) you can close controller wallet unless you want to stake as well and hence you leave it on.....just leave it on to stake the rewards that your MN(s) are getting to your Controller Wallet.
Pat yourself in the back.  Grin

Appreciation is appreciated --> SRkgkcwVnXcQ1YH1dtgrEhVuhyxvcSxBx6
or send some love or merit or both, who said cost free stuff aren't welcomed.
Peace Kiss Grin

The services on the link is for pow or pos?

Yes. This is the idea. You will mine both pow and pos directly in the browser. Proof of stake at the moment is in our internal test net branch on github.

oh i see. then i'm curious to see that (POS) cause i've mined a few.

It seems that for the past weeks, the webdollar network has been exploited. This is huge news. Cannot believe the devs were hiding this. This is great for adoption, really.

Many CPU coins are mining in cloud and we don't agree this. Is not normal to mine without having any cost.
What ? Cheesy
Why did you called mining with Google Cloud an exploit ?) It's not a bug or vulnerability. The only reason is because they get Google Cloud for free ?)
Don't you think that it's not your business, who and how mine ? Don't count other people's money!
If they get chance to mine for free, they will do it.

So if we should follow your logic, if suddenly Microsoft Azure starts distributing free dedicated servers,as an advertising campaign, then you will ban Azure servers, because people will mine your WD "without having any cost".

I don't know what using premined (genesis) coins in a POS systems is called, if not mining without having any cost?
Webdollar is full of decisions that benefit the devs, all we need know is a hard-fork to revert blocks mined using free cloud.
They really plan to make another hardfork because of Google Cloud mining ? Is this official ?

For adding POS mining we have to make hard fork, there is no other way. But we won't revert any block. Benefits for the devs? We're working on this project from 1 year and we didn't sold any single coin.
Hello !
how pos will work for holders? If i remember right there isnt a qt wallet in order to leave it on 24/7.
Will POS be automatically working to all web wallets?

Yes, you have to be consensus with the network in order to mine. Here are some services made by our community for mining like http://hostero.eu/ which accepts webd paymenths

I dont understand. I have to leave browser open with my wallet unlock? is it going to be automatically working since it is a web wallet (meaning its already running 24/7)?

214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM on: October 26, 2018, 06:30:19 AM

When you create your masternode, you enter a command "getaccountaddress MN1" (or you replace MN1 with anything you want, call yours DERP1 if you want to).  That getaccountaddress command gives you the address you send your collateral to, but it also tells your wallet the name of your masternode.  That is how you name your masternode.  Then the masternode.conf file references that same name.  Your masternode.conf file will then have a line that says "MN1 129.125.72.152:9009 YOURPRIVATEKEY MASTERNODEOUTPUT TXID" only those last three variables are replaced by whatever your values are.  That's it.  You might be making it harder than it actually needs to be.

Moved 1000 helium to 1 address
I've done all config file edits on both controller wallet and masternode wallet.
Ran that command <getaccountaddress MN1> in both wallets.
still get... "Error reading masternode configuration file: could not parse masternode.conf Line 1  "MN1"  "
(or whatever I call it. It won't parse 1st line. I have to un-edit file back to launch wallet)

So I guess I'm missing something fundamental here.
derp derp derp...  I give up.
I will tip any masternode geniuses who can figure out wtf I'm doing wrong.

yesterday i helped someone on slack to setup his MN. By the end of the process everything was running smoothly. i hope it was you and you got your mn running  Grin
https://imgur.com/a/ChGcPtJ

I wrote the guide (https://www.heliumlabs.org/v1.0/docs/masternode-setup-guide-windows-local) on the fly while trying to help someone in here without running a mn that time cause i had my coins in cryptopia.

If you run the controller/mn, 2 different wallets but same machine setup you have to add to the configs  (helium.conf) the rpcport command and specify different rpcports for two wallets (controller/mn) else you get an error that the rpc could not be binded.

For example on Controller Wallet:
Code:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=longer random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=xxxx (a port number different from MN port and MN rpcport) --> for example rpcport=2222
listen=0 --> this line is not mandatory
server=1 --> this line is not mandatory
daemon=1 --> this line is not mandatory
logtimestamps=1 --> this line is not mandatory
maxconnections=256 --> this line is not mandatory

While on MN Wallet:
Code:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=long random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=2223
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=256
masternode=1
externalip=Your_PUBLIC_IP
masternodeaddr=Your_PUBLIC_IP:9009
masternodeprivkey=YOUR_MN_PRIV_KEY

The copy part is just to not wait your mn wallet to sync again.
You did right, meaning just copy the blockchain data (not wallet.dat, etc only blockchain data) to the data directory of your MN Wallet

If you do windows setup on the same machine then yes its two separate wallets meaning two different data directories, meaning one for each wallet. one controller wallet and one mn wallet. you can have the controller wallet closed once you've started your mn from there.

The listen parameter occur to which wallet? you have to check your configuration settings and of course your network settings (port forwarding enabled on correct ports, windows firewall allow incoming connections for specified port, etc.)

So followed your configuring steps to the tea,and no go. Here's where I'm at....
I have 2 separate wallets with 2 separate directories.
The HLMMN1 wallet when launched from the startmn1.cmd gives error message...
 "unable to bind to <my public ip address (I looked it up)> on this computer (bind requested address not valid in its content (10049)"...
 which goes away if I set listen to 0 and relaunch.   Then it shows a zero balance. Basically a virgin wallet.

 When I launch  controller wallet (loaded with the 1000 coins on one address)  it says  "cannot parse MN1" ("MN1" being the 1st line of the controler wallet masternode.conf file that I edited with private key, ip, etc.)
Where do I set alias masternode to MN1?
 Also are both wallets launched when masternoding? or one or the other? which one?  (I actually can't launch both on this pc anyway..error message.)
Still totally confused...but I will get this sussed if it kills me.
 back to staking again... lol

MN1 wallet --> Listen=1

Controller Wallet --> Listen=0
and Staking=1 (to have staking enabled)
and check the ports they have to be different in these two wallets
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM on: October 23, 2018, 09:46:34 AM

5 – Copy file “blk0001.dat” and folder “txleveldb” in created folder “data” (From your master wallet)  (derp... I can't figure this out)
6 – Rename “helium-qt.exe” to the “Heliummn1.exe”

Ok I did all this except step 5 (in red) where I got stumped.
Where is file "blk0001.dat? I found only "blk00000.dat" in the roaming/helium/blocks folder and copied that into my created "data" folder.
I could not find “txleveldb” anywhere to copy. Do you mean just create a folder named “txleveldb”?
Could you elaborate on what you mean by "(From your master wallet)" ? I'm probably missing something simple here.
I maybe could flail around with a different set of instructions but I like yours as they seem the most
straight forward. If/when I'm successful I will send tip . Thanx bud.
...........
(2 hours later after flailing around like the blind leading the blind)

ok I think I did everything ,moved coins, created keys etc, but musta forked something up.
I get error message. Told me to change listen parameter to "0". (so I did)
Then it wouldn't parse my  public IP or something... (i googled that so it's right, i think...)
So there are 2 wallets, one masternode and one control?
and 2 separate  helium folders? I'm all confused...
back to plain old staking for now...

@drays @teela

Also doesn't running a cold wallet on VPS require another PC with hot wallet? Some people are unanble to run masternode in cold/hot wallet setup. It would be great if anyone can check if this problem is problem is common.

Well, yes, but I would say a bit differently - running a hot wallet on VPS requires another PC with cold wallet Smiley
And actually you don't necessarily need another PC, as you can run the second wallet on the same PC, just with different datadir, as described in Pon13 guide few pages back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1809278.msg45902537#msg45902537
The cold/hot wallet setup definitely works, so people who were unable to run it, probably did something wrong.

Well, personally and so far, i have found only one coin where the hot/cold wallet setup in the same machine in windows didn't work while i had other MNs of different coins working like that on the same machine. and believe me i tried and triple checked everything (port forwarding, windows firewall, specific port for controller wallet and mn, etc.)

and for what you state drays on your above post i have seen it work only in one coin running in linux (one wallet for both controller and mn)...actually i realized it when i read your post.

So i guess every coin has its flaws  Grin
