301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone bought Bitcoin/altcoins already? on: July 03, 2022, 11:56:18 PM
What?!? This is one of the stranger begging posts I’ve seen. Probably shouldn’t be bumped anymore since it doesn’t have much value. Weird to see you asking questions and then asking for money. You could at least provide something of value that users could profit from or maybe some advice. Anything…

You obviously don't know what the OP does on the forum, i.e. that he claims that he can influence the price with his posts and that he always asks for donations for that. Let's say something like this -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5396744.msg60008904#msg60008904
lol, I think he watched The butterfly effect too many times.
Beliving that a post in bitcointalk will have any effect on the price, is equivalent to solo mining on raspberry pi and trying to win a block.

OP's schizo posting is still fun to follow lol
302  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake and primedice are the worst gambling sites on: July 03, 2022, 11:54:48 PM
Gambling is the worst. Period.

But you can't call out a website because they don't offer incentives up to your expectations.

In my book, if a website is following its terms and the user isn't cheating then it's within the bounds of being a fair transaction.

Seems like you have a personal enmity against them  Tongue
303  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: July 03, 2022, 11:52:22 PM

Just wondering, where do you get that data that Unemployment is at around 50% in the US?
I think it's a hypothetical question. He wants to know how things will be then.

If there is 50% unemployment in the US, it is likely that there will be a lot of civil unrest. The cost of living will likely rise as well, as more people compete for fewer resources.
There would be widespread poverty, social unrest, and economic instability.
304  Economy / Economics / Re: Ten Ways Billionaires Avoid Taxes on an Epic Scale on: July 03, 2022, 11:42:10 PM
Finding a loophole isn't that hard. I have paid practically zero tax, and it's all legal. I am not rich either. My country has zero tax on all business-related inward remits  Smiley (since it's bringing new capital to my country's economy)
As for income tax, I am mostly in loss or debt  Cry

It's almost impossible if you are salaried, and working for some other company in your own country.
But if the majority of your earnings come from your own business or freelancing, tax can be easily reduced to zero. No matter where you live. Even if you are in profit ~ offshore corps to conduct your business. Check Delaware C-corps if you are in US. It's all legal btw
Do I suggest not paying taxes if you are in profit? Absolutely not.

Consult a good CPA and make sure you aren't breaking any law. it's a free world, to each his own  Smiley
305  Economy / Gambling / Re: Disgusting beitsler on: July 03, 2022, 11:11:51 PM
If you played dice and other inhouse games, then they must be provably fair.

You can use nonce, client seed and server seed, to verify the results of the games where you lost.

You probably had bad luck. You always lose in gambling. Stop crying about it lol
Unless you can't verify the hash, you should move on.

306  Economy / Gambling / Re: On Sportsbet.io I have faced injustice on: July 03, 2022, 11:06:12 PM
This is nothing, my friend lost a bet of around 300 dollars on "stake" on some overr market because rain canceled the rest of the match. But since 80% of the match had already taken place, his bet was resolved as lost. There was only a difference of a few minutes before it became 80% and rain followed immediately after.

At least you got your money back, and it was according to their terms.
Stop whining.
307  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➡➡ STAKE.COM customer service cheated on weekly boost on: July 03, 2022, 11:02:39 PM
Well, it's their choice.
You can't complain about "Free money". Sure it makes Stake lucrative, but since there's no defined rule on how much "bonus" you will get, I don't think you have any say on this.

They still pay the most bonus, compared to other sites. And it also comes without any wagering requirement.
You can discuss it with other members. But it can't be called "cheating".
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins have intrinsic monetary value, don't they? on: July 03, 2022, 10:51:28 PM

if the price falls too low then selling would slow down
I don't think it's that black and white, a drop in price could easily accelerate selling. Thus creating more supply than demand itself. This is why it has never been this easy to predict bitcoin's price.

As for bitcoin's cost of production, it has almost no effect on the price or circulation imo
19 million bitcoins are already minted, that's enough to keep the circulation moving.

There have been many instances where mining is not profitable, but people still do mine. They don't lose faith in the market. Whatever they are mining today, will be sold in the future at a better price.

At some point, it does become more convenient to buy bitcoins with fiat directly rather than through an electricity bill. This is where small miners sell their rigs and move on. But big miners will keep on grinding solely because of their faith in bitcoin.

309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin address re-usage can lead to theft of private keys on: July 03, 2022, 09:48:09 PM
AFAIK, the ronin network was compromised because it wasn't truly decentralized. There were only 9 validators, and the "hacker" got access to 5 of them. 4 from Sky Mavis system, which was used to push the withdrawal and was signed by another compromised fifth validator(Axie DAO, which had a vulnerability in their gas-free RPC node).
It has nothing to do with just "private keys" being hacked. It was an internal play 100%

As for Quantum computers, they are not at that level yet. There's no way  Cheesy

310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Be a Failure Even If It Hits $100,000, Says "Black Swan" Author !! on: July 03, 2022, 09:16:30 PM
Quote
The “Black Swan” author has also taken aim at “bitidiots” like El Salvador President Nayib Bukele who still claim that Bitcoin is cheap in a recent tweet. The self-proclaimed “world’s coolest dictator” continues to gamble away taxpayer money. Earlier this week, Bukele bought another 80 Bitcoins despite the fact that El Salvador, one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere, had lost more than $50 million because of his ill-timed Bitcoin purchases.
Word.

He's right about Bukele being an idiot and burning taxpayers' money.
He's also right about bitcoin turning into a memestock, just another risk-on asset.

In all of this he's missing bitcoin's true potential, and I don't blame him. Given how crypto has become a cesspool of scams.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Plan B Is a CIA Agent on: July 03, 2022, 09:06:32 PM
This is some /pol posting. These conspiracies are more apt at 4chan rather than bitcointalk lol
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbG6u86t4bA

I will still bite, what does CIA gain by doing this? Why "CIA"??  Huh
I can see a hedge fund profiting through this tactic but not CIA lol
312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is a Must sharing happiness About Bitcoin on: July 03, 2022, 08:58:45 PM
What about taxation and its legality?
I know all countries have varying payroll taxes, but how's your company tackling the one you got?
I am guessing there's no capital gains tax on crypto? Good for you guys.

It's still not a legal tender tho, unless you live in El salvador.
I would pay my employees a part of their wage(equivalent to minimum wage) as fiat and the rest in bitcoin. To stay out of trouble  Cheesy
313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: July 03, 2022, 08:40:21 PM
A bank b being perma bull, what's new. They are right about their analysis of bitcoin being closely related to NASDAQ and S&P 500, but who doesn't know that by now?

I do agree with the analysts at Deutsche Bank that Bitcoin is more like a highly marketed asset, such as diamonds than it is like gold. This is because, like diamonds, the value of Bitcoin is largely based on perception and not on tangible factors like scarcity or utility  Smiley
314  Economy / Goods / Re: Looking for partners for ebay or amazon on: July 03, 2022, 06:12:38 AM
Got any products for Amazon.com that you can dropship? I will list them.
i am guessing they all are for the European market?

316  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com issue on: July 03, 2022, 02:14:05 AM
I have mailed this issue to blockchain.com support. Maybe they can figure out the problem on their side and fix it. I will post updates here(if they give any meaningful reply). Hopefully, no one else has to face this issue again.

I don't know if blockchain has a plan to fix the issue it was there since years ago and their wallet is actually problematic I have bad experiences using their wallet and actually, I still have funds on their wallet which until now can't be able to recover using wallet id, email and the right password.

You are lucky that you charge the battery successfully without shorting it. You can able to see the negative and positive under the terminal flex.
Yea, a little bit of luck is involved here.
There's a board connected to the terminals, it's probably soldered and I would have to remove it to find the terminal signs. Fortunately, I could see the terminals after ripping off some plastic tape over it and took my chances with positive/negative after watching related YT videos.

Anyway, you are now able to log in through a QR code and able to make a sign message. Now do not use the blockchain wallet ever and use the proper wallet.
Yup, backed up now. Never gonna use blockchain again.
If someone who's still on blockchain.com is reading this, THEN BACKUP YOUR KEYS ASAP  Cheesy

I think this issue with blockchain.com is here to stay, if I receive any meaningful reply from blockchain.com then I will create a new topic for update.
Locking this thread.

Thank you, everyone  Smiley
317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain safe for Bitcoin storage? on: July 02, 2022, 11:53:58 PM
As others have pointed out already. Are you confusing blockchain.com with blockchain technology?

If yes, then no. Blockchain.com is not safe! Your wallet may face some technical problem and you will be locked out of your coins, probably forever. This is an added risk when you use a third party wallet.

As for blockchain technology, it's secure AF when there are many participants. Except for 51% attack, even then the chain can only be disrupted  Cheesy
318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is not an inflation hedge in first place on: July 02, 2022, 11:49:26 PM
+1
It has strayed from its objective. But the devs try to keep it on track. As you mentioned, the development of lightning network attests to it.
Whereas the market and economic side of bitcoin can't be controlled to align with its philosophy. It has turned into a memestock.

319  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happens if someone mistakenly tags you a negative trust and dies? on: July 02, 2022, 11:33:11 PM
Maybe we can have a flag-like system to dispute a negative feedback and counter such situations? Only users on the DT list can vote on it with three voting option- Agree, Disagree, Neutral
Whichever option gains the most votes after a period of time, the feedback will be accordingly updated.
No change in the case of Agree
Feedback will be removed in the case of Disagree
Feedback will change to neutral in case neutral gets the majority.

It will make the trust system democratic and reduce the autocratic element. A step forward from the current "three estates"-like system.

Probably someone has already proposed this solution, given how active the meta section is.

320  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: July 02, 2022, 10:53:25 PM
I have encrypted the tar output with ae256 encryption and a very long + complex password that I won't forget  Cheesy
That's what BIP38 was created for. Come to think of it: with a decent password I'd feel pretty safe posting it here, together the signed message. I reckon the chance of someone cracking the password is much smaller than the chance of you losing the privkey again Tongue

Disclaimer: don't do this if you don't fully understand what you're doing. But I like the idea of being able to verify my online identity with nothing else than a password and very strong encryption.
Damn, no one was able to crack a 6 character password. Mine is more than double in size and more complex  Cool
