It's the Battle of Thermopylae for every $1000 gain.

When will this high power resistance on 60000 USD fall? Feels like an eternity ranging in my humble opinion. Surely we storm the fort in the next week or two.
It's stronger than predicted, I think the altcoin small upside seen recently is preventing that barrier to be crossed again. As soon as the alts crumbles 60k will be in reach.
Weak ends will collapse and smart money will go back to corn.
About time.

I'm of the opinion that smart money wouldn't flip flop between alts and btc. They should just stay in alts for their arbitrage gaming fix.

Yup.

Cointelegraph reiterates that buying Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Cash or any cryptocurrency with a ticker other than BTC means that one holds an altcoin, not Bitcoin itself.

We all hate shitcoins. I do too.

But, maybe, just maybe, shitcoins are a blessing in disguise. They do seem to help in a few things:

-- Sort out the opportunists from the serious investors.
-- Sort out the thick in the head from the smart.
-- Stress-test (and confirm) Bitcoin's unprecedented robustness and fault tolerance.
-- Weed out cancer cells, such as Craig Wright, Calvin Ayre, Roger Ver, and Jihan Wu.
-- Suck wealth out of "get rich quick" traders, just like maggots eat rotten flesh.

I often get angry when I see posts shilling shitcoins. But I shouldn't. To all shitcoin shills, I say: "Bring it on! Give it all you've got! Attack Bitcoin as fiercely as you can! Let the strongest survive!" After all, that's how the universe works. From the wild animals of the jungle, to the highest level of refined civilization. Survival of the fittest. So, bring it on, and let the winner take all.

Someone(s) is really interested in making it seem like Bitcoin is worth almost exactly 60k.

Same people that thought it was only worth $9k.

Is HODL going to be one of those waking up?

A rising tide lifts all boats — even those previously thought to be shipwrecked. At least that’s how it looked on Wednesday when some previously dormant altcoins erupted back to life, experiencing spikes ranging between 3,000% and 6,500% for the week.

so what is this shit? why are we going down? sell the rumour and buy the news?

High time preference traders, same as always. They provide liquidity and prop up the exchanges with fees. A necessary evil.

I even decided to buy a whole new car after breaking $60k today!
It's gonna be a custom build, Tamiya TT02R chassis, with a 17-Turn Engine. Didn't decide on the tires and body yet, but it will be either a Raikiri GT or Audi A4 Touring, maybe even an AMG 190E  Grin
About $400 including all needed components.

I decided to get a new engine in mine. Of course it's a warranty replacement for the Jasper motor I bought about 6 months ago that started leaking oil everywhere. But if things keep going in the uppity (tm JJG) direction I might splurge and get a nice Classic Air air conditioning unit or similar installed.

Resurrection of this coin even with the help of the Old Ones seems very unlikely.

every try to get new the 50k will be disruped by sell of a larger amout of coins. Second time. we were at 49750... and the next moment (no real pattern break visible) 48900 until a little rebounce... Same pattern in Jan and last week. Every time near 50k ...

Another round number psychological hurdle. As much as traders like to claim they operate on logic they seem mostly to operate on something else. We'll be fighting for every 10k milestone until 100k probably.

Just imagine an Elon pump happening right now, taking us to $60k. Wouldn't that be something?

But maybe the way of the ants is healthier...

Really tired of the cults of celebrity and their legions of p&d tarders. Their media friendly antics delay the inevitable adoption. I'm fine with incremental ants.

Cool article thanks for sharing, out of merit but it's worth some. The tagline quote at the end is glorious...

“Bitcoin is rotating this year from the old insight narrative which is, it’s an uncorrelated speculative asset traded by retail traders on off-shore exchanges with leverage that’s kind of cool,” Saylor said in a December 2020 interview with HyperChange. “It’s rotating to a new insight, which is it’s the world’s best long-duration investment-grade safe-haven treasury asset,” he added.

1T market cap today maybe? That's $53668/btc if I did the math right.

We are there, amazing.

do you remember on this worldwide COVID-19 crisis in 2020 and onwards?  Roll Eyes

there is a strong evidence from an research of an scientist of the University of Hamburg that the source is the Wuhan laboratory.

+++ 17:31 Hamburg researchers: there are indications that coronavirus comes from the laboratory +++

The Hamburg nanoscientist Roland Wiesendanger compiled various findings from scientific studies, articles, reports in social media and other sources in the period from January to December of last year and comes to the conclusion: The pathogen Sars-CoV-2 is not of natural origin, but comes from a laboratory in Wuhan. The physicist cites the following points as evidence for these theories:

  • To date, no so-called intermediate host has been identified that proves according to the "zoonosis theory" that the coronaviruses were transmitted from bats to humans.
  • A research group at the virological institute in the city of Wuhan has carried out genetic manipulations on coronaviruses for many years with the aim of making them more contagious, dangerous and deadly for humans.
  • There were significant safety deficiencies in the virological institute in the city of Wuhan even before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, which are documented.
  • Against the background of these and other factors, Wiesendanger writes: "In summary, it can be said that there are very many indications that a laboratory accident at the 'Wuhan Institute of Virology' appears to be by far the most likely cause of the corona pandemic."

You can read more about this shortly on ntv.de.

it took a whole year to collect all points for evidence:
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/349302406_Studie_zum_Ursprung_der_Coronavirus-Pandemie

Peer reviewed, no?

not yet. it's brand new and not all is translated to English. give the scientific community some time and that will be the bomb for something we cannot imagine yet i guess.

EDIT: there was some evidence from other sources in the past too but I was cautious with my conclusion and confident the truth will come to the light sometimes in the future.

If it was peer reviewed it would have been vetted and reviewed BEFORE publishing. That's the point of peer review, to keep from publishing wonky science, not address it after it gets published.

LOL, No-one said taking it out in a panic is the way to do it.
Do it as close to a top as you feel comfortable with.

Best out of context read today.

Still the drumbeat of fraud. Potentially rocky times ahead, the legacy institutions don't integrate new knowledge very well...

Her words echoed comments she made in her hearing for the role of Treasury secretary in January, when she said: "I think we really need to examine ways in which we can curtail [cryptocurrencies'] use and make sure that money laundering doesn't occur through those channels."
