1981  Economy / Economics / Re: Solar panels set to be mandatory on all new buildings under EU plan on: May 27, 2022, 01:27:34 PM
to be honest, not everyone has the ability to buy solar panels because they are quite expensive, especially for the installation and battery costs.. if the government can provide subsidies for this I think this could be the best option to reduce carbon footprint, particularly in the European region

Though this may be the case, still, the best course of action is to continue purchasing solar panels for alternative source of energy for consumption. If these countries have other sustainable methods, such as wind powers, etc., then they may opt to. But for the meantime, solar panels still provide the best course of alternative energy though it may be expensive initially.

This kind of alternative fuel should be installed into countries that are geographically placed into locations in which sunlight is abundant. I do hope that the government of other countries would follow this kind of implementation to take advantage of something that is free and natural.
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could inheriting Bitcoin from love ones be that difficult? on: May 27, 2022, 01:08:37 PM
No, there shouldn't be any issue with BTC inheritance, but unless there is a will after a persons death, then it would be down to a countries specific laws, and then we get into the problem of government regulation of crypto, and that's where things get tricky.

I do not think so- cryptocurrencies have financial freedom and free from any government control. This is the reason on why it is decentralized in the first place- the only regulation that comes with its transactions are the laws imposed, which I do think hampers such inheritance process.

The best way for BTCs to be inherited is to at least inform your parents or children about it. Create a lock and purchase a safe where it may contain all your wallet addresses, etc. for your love ones to utilize in the time of an untimely death.
1983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why we should Buy some Bitcoins on: May 26, 2022, 11:40:02 PM
Bitcoin is currently trading at a good price and now is a good opportunity to enter the world of Bitcoin. If you've not bought bitcoins yet, this might be your best opportunity this year.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $ 34,493 and the bear market is coming to an end. Also, another good thing that will definitely affect the price of bitcoin is halving.
Big investors! One of the main reasons why the price of Bitcoin does not fall much is the presence of large investors. These investors do not allow the Bitcoin price sink lower.

Just to add on what OP mentioned, the potential of doubling or tripling your profits when you invest into cryptocurrencies is relatively high, though this also follows on losses. So investing, in general, is a risk that you should decide beforehand before you fully commit into investing into cryptocurrencies.

I started my journey way back in 2017 where the price was still sitting around $4,000-$5,000. After a few years, its price skyrocketed and I definitely profited along my way. There will be times where its price may sit stably at one price point (e.g. $30,000 today - few months) but it will definitely skyrocket given its inflationary nature.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Session That Lingers On Or Keep Staying On your Mind on: May 26, 2022, 11:25:07 PM
Anyone experienced or suffered from this, whether from winning or from losing where a particular gambling session keeps staying in your mind and you'll having sleeplessness thinking about that particular session over and over again, the same bet keeps repeating over and over again and you keep asking yourself what if you do the opposite.
I'm glad I overcome this and I see to it now that whenever I'm login off to casinos I'm playing I will not think about it whether I lose or win.

This happened back in 2015 where I was around 18-19 years old at that time.

Dota 2 was fairly a new game back then and some beta keys were given in order to participate. Slowly, Valve introduced some in-game hero skins where you can design your characters to look better. Upon this feature, the birth of crates happened in that game where you had to purchase a key ($1.99) in order to open one.

One of my friend introduced to me a gambling website where you can gamble away your keys for profit. During that time, I started with 2 keys and it grew significantly up to 30 keys. This gave me around a $60 profit which was big at that time. Unfortunately, I got greedy and lost all keys in the process and that gambling website subsequently closed as Valve was running against these companies.

This lingered for me for a couple of months and it still bothers me whenever I think about it. Though that may be the case, it gave me an important lesson to always hold my horses and call it a day!
1985  Economy / Economics / Re: Constant defamation of crypto on: May 26, 2022, 11:15:00 PM
Why are so many governments and even people constantly trying to defame crypto?

It is all because of control- the government wants everything to be monitored and supervised because they believe that anything beyond their control has the potential to be detrimental to the society.

Unfortunately, that is the mindset of almost all of the country's government as they believe that control gives them the power to manage all the finances and economy of the country. Cryptocurrencies, on the other hand, were created in order to escape that control. It frees every user from transacting into third-parties as all of the transactions are reflected on a public ledger where nothing can be changed.

Though it is understandable from the government's point of view, but it has been proven that even without their control, having financial freedom is better and innovative in this current standpoint.
1986  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An advice for Crypto Investing on: May 26, 2022, 10:44:32 PM
No investment plan, or strategy is 100% save you have to take into account all the risks and profits as well. Here is a link for you to discover one investment strategy. https://exio.tech/blog/what-is-yield-farming-in-defi/

I think this sums up the best advice that anyone could receive when they are planning on investing something- always prepare and create a strategy for both results, either in profit or in loss. Also, having a contingency plan will definitely be beneficial in the long-run given that it will give you background on what to expect and to do in the event of an exit plan.

To add on the list that OP created, the best advice that I could give is always to have faith on your investments. In addition, only invest the amount that you are willing to lose given that investing into cryptocurrency by itself is the most risky method that could either make or break your capital in the shortest amount of time possible.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 26, 2022, 10:24:52 PM
People would really be still loving to see this Trilogy which lots had been anticipating for too long and now it would really happen. THanks for the share up bud.
I do agree that it should really be done few years back where GGG isnt really still near on his retirement or simply being old but for sure he do still have something into his sleeves.
But i would really be still considering for Canelo on closing this one for good.  Wink

I remember watching the first game wherein the game resulted in a draw, though I do think that Canelo deserved that win.

On game 2, both of Canelo and GGG showed tremendous talent wherein GGG had this steel chin. Despite all the powerful shots that Canelo threw, GGG will not fall on the ground and he continued to fight like nothing happened. Though the game ended with Canelo winning, I think a draw was sufficient and equal on that match.

Now that the trilogy will finally happen, I hope that this fight will be more convincing compared to all the previous fights that it left everyone with their own opinions on who won on that match.
1988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The first gas station to accept Bitcoin in my region on: May 26, 2022, 11:17:41 AM
Man, this is truly amazing! Not only does that gas station provide convenience on your end, but it may attract users to get curious on what cryptocurrencies are!

You truly have a vision for innovation- providing more means and methods of payment instead of sticking to conventional cash. What you are doing is you are brining and advocating the use of BTCs in order for people to remove that stigma and negative mindset about it.

Just a quick question, are the payments instant? As far as I know, there are transaction fees that must be covered and the process of confirmation takes time. How do you remedy that situation where people would instantly leave as soon as they left the establishment?
1989  Economy / Gambling / Re: The latest cryptocurrency gambling on: May 26, 2022, 10:51:02 AM
I don't care much about the website no matter how nasty that is as I just visited it with my Linux VM custom made for trying these links,I didn't see anything bad or a bad design of the site,the only bad is the OP does not know how to properly create an ANN thread and I also tell him as suggested to hire someone proficient to do it in case you want to be a long time member here and also want to make your site known to a wider audience like this forum is.

He is probably new on the forum (I mean he is not somebody's alt) and don't know that he could buy a copper membership. Hiring a manager to create an ANN thread is another wonderful idea. Hopefully he will persistently promote his services in a right way (hiring a manager or buying a copper membership) so like you said his website will be known among many people. If he does a hit run thread, then this thread will go down in a few days and nobody will ever remember it. These things take time and effort. Casinos in this forum has been promoting their services via signatures for years. That's dedication.
Maybe you are right and Op is new here in forum and even did not know how to make a professional ann thread even buy a copper membership to enable to post an image even though he or she is a newbie rank. But if this site will good and they want to be a bigger site a lot of options they are going to do. Like advertising their casino or sites by launching a signature campaign or hire a manger to promote their sites.

Well since OP does not know the specifics, I think it is normal but to suggest to him the dynamics and the perks that can be purchased via a Copper Membership.

Upon checking the website, the border does not seem to fill the whole page of my screen. The texts on the webpage also seemed small; and the website somehow looks incomplete. I highly suggest that if you are creating a gambling website, then at least follow some of the patterns being created by other gambling sites as well. This looks more of something that people would avoid betting on.
1990  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: stay away from bitsler on: May 25, 2022, 04:57:09 PM
While I do understand your frustrations, I think you should create first a scam accusation against the project and follow the desired and preferred format posted below, to wit:

Code:
[b][color=black]What happened:: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Scammers Profile Link: [/color][/b]

[b][color=black]Reference Link: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Amount Scammed: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Payment Method: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Proof of Payment: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]PM/Chat Logs: [/color][/b]
[b][color=black]Additional Notes: [/color][/b]

Bitsler is one of those gambling websites that has been around for many years. I really doubt that they will risk ruining their reputation where the amount is relatively trivilal. Like what I have mentioned, these gambling websites have been fostering their reputation and I really doubt that they would waste all of those years promoting their website then suddenly just to ruin it.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: May 21, 2022, 10:14:53 PM
Experience won. Luka Doncic is still young. This will not be the end of his career even if they lost. But let's not get ahead yet. 2 games in Dallas Mavericks land and they might show us something different from the past two games. I did expect they can win it during the first half but the Warriors have history of come backs during the second half and we witnessed it again.

I personally do not get it why people are too hard on Luka- he's definitely the greatest 23-year old player in the league right now. He carried his team to the playoffs especially that he can dominate in the paint and shoot anywhere on the field. While he may technically not be athletic in some ways, he can score the basket pretty easily with his devilish moves and tricky techniques that lets him get to the paint with ease.

Though this may be the case, the cake will be taken home by the Warriors in this matchup. With their experience in the playoffs and dominating players, the Dallas have a relatively low chance of beating this team.
1992  Economy / Economics / Re: Where to invest everything looking bearish on: May 21, 2022, 10:04:05 PM
Btc is not moving Also other crypto down
So where to invest to get good profit ?
Is there actually coins wich follows the food prices ?
As food going up so u can earn profit from coins what follows the food prices also.
What about panncakeswap coins ?

I still highly suggest investing into BTC and take advantage of this bearish market in order to have long-term gains in the future.

The problem with most newbie investors nowadays is that they are too focused into getting short-term profits. Instead of being negative in this bearish market, you should actually take this opportunity to invest and purchase more BTCs in the process as its price has that potential to skyrocket in the next months or years. If there exist an investment that gives good profits with little-to-no risk at all, then everyone would have invested on it in a heartbeat.
1993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what age did you start learning about bitcoin? on: May 21, 2022, 04:16:45 PM
1. At what age did you start learning about bitcoin?

I started learning about BTC only when the time I joined in this forum last 2017, maybe I was around 19-20 years old? Fortunately, my close friend introduced me this forum which definitely widen my knowledge about cryptocurrencies.

Quote
2. What role did age and prior experience play in helping you learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency?

Age definitely played a major factor into HODLing my coins. As a young college student with little-to-no funds at all for my daily expenses, most of my proceeds from campaign signatures were quickly converted to cash in order to either purchase books or any relevant stuff. While I do not regret such decision, it made me look back and ask such question that if I just saved my coins for now, I would have earned and realized +++ money in the process.

Quote
3. With your current knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, do wish you started at an earlier age?

Yes definitely! With all the knowledge that I have about cryptocurrencies, I wish I discovered this website upon its existence. With that knowledge that I have, I could have at least raise my family out of this below income median household and give my father the life he deserves.
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 21, 2022, 03:52:54 PM
I feel bad for the family because the family didn't gambling addicts, but they got a consequence from the addict. I believe the family already warn him to not gambling and ask him to seek a professional, but due to his greediness he didn't care anything including his family. I think it's better if the family kick the addict, so they wouldn't get any problem from this man.
^ Rehabilitation is the best answer to this, anxiety becomes a trigger of greediness and greediness will trigger to commit crimes.
Gambling addictions are not that easy to cure, they will heal in just a matter of time and probably in the rehabilitation center gambling addicts will forget what is the cause of their addiction. Kicking is not a solution, whatever happens, still, that is your bloodline, your family, the only way is to cure him and stop him from his addiction.

I do agree with you that rehabilitation may be the way in order to combat addiction.

Unfortunately, the only way to combat any type of addiction are rehab and constant support from their peers. You have to constantly reassure them that you will always be supporting their new ways in order for them to fully realize their mistake. Helping them coping with their addiction is one thing, but true realization from the addict himself is another.

You really have to create an environment that will at least help them reduce the chance of any relapse and be understanding also at the moment because addiction is a sickness that must be treated as soon as possible.
1995  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm officially not a newbie anymore!!! on: May 20, 2022, 11:57:08 PM
I'm happy to say that I am no longer in the newbie rank. I can remember being ashamed of the newbie rank glaring on my profile. I soon got used to it and then ignored it and focused on growing my knowledge on btc and crypto in general. I can say I've learnt a whole lot with loads more to learn. Learning is a continuous process and I look forward to growing in continuous knowledge and information sharing here in the forum.

Congratulations for getting out of the "newbie-hell" experience with your rank.

The fact that you were able to garner these much merits in the past few days reflect your dedication towards knowledge and contribution to the cryptocurrency sphere. While this may be the case, your journey has just actually started. Since you have the capability of sharing knowledge, continue such mission even if you attain the highest rank as your goal is not to rank-up but to gain actual cryptocurrency knowledge in the process.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CHESS] World Championship 2021: Carlsen Vs. Nepomniachtchi on: May 20, 2022, 11:48:03 PM

Screens serve as the major companion for most younger generation. Reason been that most parents don't have time to make their ward appreciate the beauty of board chess game. In the absence of family time this young ones improvise into playing video games and watching YouTube videos. In this time implementing things using a forceful measure might only be an end to a dreadful home. It boils down to parents to create time out of busy schedules to make their wards appreciate board games else it just fades away
Parents have the busy schedule and when they are tired and have a lot to take care. They give the tabs to their kids. In our country - parents prefer their kids not to go out so they turn the TV on and let the kids watch it for hours and hours. Parents are very over protective now a days and they just want their kids to be sitting in front of them, this too is affecting health of the kids as well.

I think this depends on the rules and household set by the parents.

Most of my friends have parents that are lenient in way that they let them hang or do anything to the kids. But there are certain rules to be followed (e.g. curfew by this hour, etc.). Though this may be the case, the wellbeing of these children are not that affected to the point that they become problematic in the future.

Anyway not to deviate from this discussion, Chessable Masters ended with a bang with Magnus securing 8 points, defeating Jordan and and Grandelius in the process. What do you guys think of this tournament? Will Magnus certainly dominate again in this tournament like in all previous tournaments he participated in?

1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 19, 2022, 10:55:09 PM
Whoah, what you have OP is an extreme case of gambling sickness where your fear and anxiety results into medical complications. I think this is mostly associated with the psychological impact of your games that somehow affects your mental and physical capacity. OP, are you a nervous type of person in general? If this were the case, then I suggest that you avoid gambling at all cost in order to prevent any further medical complications as you have a responsibility for your family.

Personally, I have never experienced any sort of pain or changes in my body whenever I gamble. Neither did my parents nor my brother (as they are hardcore gamblers) experienced any type of medical complication while doing such act in the process.
1999  Economy / Economics / Re: Standard of living on: May 19, 2022, 05:14:07 PM
So i would like to know what the standard of living is like in your country now compared to five years ago. Was there any sharp difference in the standard of living pre pandemic and now. If there is a great fall in the standard of living in your country, have there been any move by the government and employers of labor to alleviate the sufferings of people. People who live in Ukraine, if you don't mind, i think a lot of people would want to know what it is like there too since the war began.

Definitely there is a significant difference between the standard of living now vs the standard of living pre-pandemic.

In the Philippines, prices of fuels significantly increased. All the commodities and basic household items needed for daily living increased when the pandemic hit. Not to mention, though some of the stock prices plummeted, most have increased as well. Unfortunately, job opportunities lessened and unemployment + underemployment rates were higher compared to the time before covid hit.
2000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? (2022 edition) on: May 19, 2022, 02:37:13 PM
I recently just started in this forum way back in 2017 and from there, all of my BTCs came from the proceeds of dozens of campaign signatures I have participated therein. So far from my BTC wallet address, I have accumulated around ~$30,000 worth of BTCs from participating in five (5) years in this forum. Though the price mostly depends on the value of BTC, roughly I have earned that much.

Unfortunately, majority of that $30,000 came from the value of BTC back in the years 2018-2019 when 1 BTC was equivalent to only around $4,000-$6,000 so the payouts in campaign signatures were relatively high. I also used most of it during that time as it gave me an opportunity to purchase books for my self-served education.
