I was not able to compile Emerald under Debian 10 Buster (current stable).

Debian 10 uses boost 1.67.0.1 and openssl 1.1.1d  10 Sep 2019.

The problem seems to be with boost and I ended up by downgrading to Debian 9 (oldstable) Stretch which has openSSL 1.1.0l  and boost 1.62.0.1.

There should by a way to compile under Debian 10 as well but I couldn't figure it out. I would say one has to build openssl and boost manually and link it somehow (probably with --prefix).

actually openssl can be linked as follows: OPENSSL_INCLUDE_PATH=/usr/local/ssl/include OPENSSL_LIB_PATH=/usr/local/ssl/lib make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

I'm trying to run nomp pool https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal/ and my coin json looks as follow:

pretty much same as this one https://github.com/zone117x/node-open-mining-portal/blob/master/coins/emerald.json but I also wanted to use P2P block notification

the peer magic number seems to be set correctly as here: https://github.com/Crypto-Currency/Emerald/blob/119ca38d3b889140ef26ded41533034d84b79310/src/main.cpp#L3148

but I still see in log this message: "p2p connection failed - likely incorrect p2p magic value"

Does anyone have experience with p2p block notification for Emerald?

Hi Motty, the operation cost for the pool is around 110$/year. For now I can afford that from other sources. I might add more coins.. some with a fee (but it will be really low.. like 0.2 or something like that). Also thinking to do a front end switch for MPOS in near future.
