Hi zusammen,

bin neu in der Materie, mine seit kurzem XMR im MineXMR Pool.
Mir ist dabei aufgefallen, dass meine Expired Share Rate bei über 5% liegt, ist das nicht etwas viel? Auf der Webseite steht, dass ein Wert von 1% normal sei. Ist der Wert also zu hoch und wenn ja, woran kann das liegen?

Can someone tell whether the 3GB version of the GTX1060 performs similar to the 6GB version in XMR? Currently I get 530 H/s @ 40W out of my overclocked GTX 1060 6GB, is the same possible with the smaller brother? Performance seems only to be dependant on the memory clock, not on the cores, so the fewer cores should not matter?

Ich versuchs jetzt mal mit Monero für den Anfang. Meine GTX 1060 machen je 500 H/s bei 40 Watt, da ist der Stromverbrauch überschaubar und das Potential vielleicht noch größer als bei ETH. Gewinne sind damit knapp im dreistelligen Bereich, das ist ok.

Correct. GDDR5X is not good for mining.

I did some tests with my GTX1060 @ 1536 / 2250 @ 0.8V. With XMR-Stack I can mine ~500 H/s XMR with only 40W power consumption, i. e. 12.5W/Hash. I think that's awesome. With fan almost inaudible @50% temps never go over 45°C. With 3 of these cards I could make 1.5kH/s @ 120W, quite good. The card has Samsung modules, any experience on how high they can clock on the 1060?

How much can the 1070 reach in XMR

Is it really the lower timings that is responsible for the almost 20% higher hashrate or also other factors?

If I want to start mining XMR now with a 3 GPU system, what would be your suggestion? The card should be energy efficient, but also produce reasonaböe hash rate.
Had a RX570 here for testing, it did not even 500 at stock, power consumption was >100W. A GTX 1060 would consume less power, what hash rate can be expected?

I did not use dual mining to get my first results, so all figures are ETH only...

Is there a modded by BIOS available for the Sapphire Pulse ITX that I could give a try? What rates can be achieved with modded BIOS for cheap RX570 cards like the Sapphire in ETH and XMR?

What can be expected from a GTX 1060 in doing XMR mining, compared to a RX470 or RX570? I've read that some RX470 can do up to 800, my RX570 just makes about 500 at stock speed and BIOS.

I have a similar issue. With a Sapphire ITX RX470, I only get around 22 MH/s at stock speed and maybe 23 Mh/s with memory up to 2000. How much would other memory timings / BIOS mod affect the result? I've read about people getting up tp 30 Mh/s out of a RX470, is this also possible for RX570, and is this only becuase of the changed memory timings?!?

Yes XMR. I updated my post as it was not clear. Also added ETH figures which are also not so good (21-23 MH7s). Which miner do you suggest?

But why is the 570 slower than the 470 with even higher power consumption?

I got a Sapphire RX570 ITX yesterday which is doing quite poor. I have around 450-470 H/s XMR stock and can go up to ~500 H/s XMR when setting the RAM to 2000. The card consumes over 100-120W of power, which is also not so good. I tried with the latest Crimson on Win 10 x64 with Claymore and ccminer.

On ETH I have about 21 MH/s stock and 23 MH/s overclocked, but power consumption is up to 140W. Quite bad compared to the 21M/s I can get from a GTX 1060 3GB which only draws 70W! Also tested with Claymore miner.

Any idea what I could try to get higher rates without modding the BIOS? Or is this the normal range for a RX570. Didn't the 470 go up to 700-800 XMR and 25 ETH at stock?

Ich hab testweise mit meiner GTX 1060 ETH gemined und für 20.5MH/s habe ich 80 Watt gebraucht. Karte auf 0.8V und 2100MHz Speicher festgetackert und das PowerTarget auf 50%. Passt. Bei ner RX570 wird es ähnlich sein, die braucht dann halt 100W, je nachdem wie weit man mit der Spannung runter kommt und wie gut der Chip ist. Dafür liefert die dann aber auch mehr Hashes ab.

Aber zurück zu meiner Frage: Gibt es denn eine Empfehlung, was man derzeit minen sollte, wenn man neu einsteigt?
- ETH/ETC -> wann erfolgt die Umstellung auf PoS, lohnt es sich noch, selber zu minen, wenn man nur 3 GPUs hat
- ZenCash / ZClassic / Zcash -> ZenCash ist der neueste Fork, was ist davon zu halten?
- Hush / Zdash / Zcash -> Hush ist hier der neueste Wurf (rebrand), wird aber wohl eher kritisch gesehen, was ich bisher so gelesen hab
- LiteCoin ist wohl schon zu lange am Markt, um noch profitabel einzusteigen...
- Monero?
- Dash?

Hat jemand fundierte Vorschläge?

400W entsprächen aufs Jahr gesehen rund 3,5MW, wenn man optimistisch rechnet und 25% über Solar decken kann dann noch etwa 2,7MW. Bei 25 Cent pro kWh ca. 650 Euro. Es müssten also schon mind. 1000 Euro beim Minen rauskommem, damit es sich überhaupt rechnet.

Auf welchen Coin würdet ihr derzeit setzen?

Eine RX570 bzw. GTX1060 bekommt man mit untervolten auf 70 (GTX) bis 90W (RX). Macht bei 4 Karten max. 360W zzgl. 40W für den Rest des Systems. Wenns 450 Watt sind macht das auch nix

Klar, Millionär wird man nicht dadurch, da müsste man schon in anderen Dimensionen denken. Tagsüber könnte ich den Strom der PV-Anlage nutzen, und wenn man das System mit 3-4 Karten gescheit aufbaut bleibt man auch unter 400W, denke das ist überschaubar. Die Frage ist eben, auf welches Pferd man am besten setzt. Lohnt sich denn ETH noch, solange es nach PoW läuft oder sollte man gleich woanders einsteigen und dort evtl. die Gunst der frühen Stunde nutzen?

wenn man sich so die Berechnungen für ETH, ZEC etc. anschaut, dann wäre es anscheinend möglich, mit einer einzelnen RX470 per GPU-Mining im Monat um die 100 USD an Profit zu erwirtschaften. Dann kommt man natürlich schnell auf die Idee, sich ein "Rig" mit 3 oder 4 von den Teilen hinzustellen und ins GPU-Mining einzusteigen, wären immerhin knapp 400 Euro im Monat und nach 3 Monaten ist die Hardware schon bezahlt. Und selbst wenns nur 300 wären, würde es sich immer noch lohnen.

Aber ist es wirklich so einfach? Falls ja, welcher Coin bietet sich denn derzeit an? BTC per GPU zu minen ist ja schon lange kein Thema mehr. ETH geht wohl ganz gut, aber nur noch solange, bis auf PoS umgestellt wird. ZEC? Monero (da ist der Profit derzeit noch nicht so hoch) oder was ganz anderes?
