hello!

would like to know how I could configure the miner just to mine ravencoin or ethereum classic but directly to nicehash in order to be paid in btc (dont trust these coins in the long term)

could anyone help me with the config file?

thanks in advance

I second that request, we need the option to mine ravecoin

by the way, could anyone help me with the config file?

I'm totally lost now, want to mine ETC but to nicehash to receive btc, is this possible?

thanks in advance
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin should u mine right now? on: September 15, 2022, 05:59:27 PM
not quite cheap, but years ago I "suffered" same situation, eth dumped to 200 usd and was not profitable but if I would have not stopped mining, the money I could have won is awesome, even without selling near the top...

so this time won't shut off my rigs even if I lose money for a while, 1-2 years is my estimation timeframe for starting the party again, thanks to btc halving so "mining" btc has more sense now than ever before hehe

thanks for your reply, I guess will stick with nicehash and let the program to decide each moment what to mine Wink

bet for btc is always a win-win situation
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which coin should u mine right now? on: September 15, 2022, 04:12:53 PM
Hi folks,

After the successful (apparently eth merge), me and many others as eth miners, should ask ourselves not only which is the most profitable coin right now but which one will still be lucrative in the future... that means it should be a very solid coin and project

Today ethw is fully operative to be mined but couldn't find anywhere if it is profitable now or not... where could I check that?

Any help and advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PhoenixMiner 6.2c: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux) on: August 12, 2022, 09:36:21 PM
hey everyone

I come back to check if there is any update and I see my version is quite old now, 5.6 xD

@PhoenixMiner if I update to last version will I have any improvement in terms of hashrate?

my rigs work perfectly without any stability problem or issue, for 1 year and half now so I doubt if the "effort" is necessary or not

thanks

It also depends which drivers you are using Windows or Linux.

I'm using windows with nvidia drivers (mix rtx 3060ti and 3070 no lhr)

With version 6.2c you might see an improvement with hashrate and power consumption with the Nvidia drivers mentioned on the first page. Make sure you only download from the link in the first post.

that's good news man, great!

couldn't find which drivers u refer to on first page, I've seen that last ones available on official website are version 516.94 WHQL

by the way any of u are using dual mining option and can show me some pics of real performance just to compare with solo mining?

I usually did that years ago by eth+decred or eth+siacoin

thanks in advance!!

Sorry its mentioned somewhere in the readme.txt/ReleaseNotes.txt but it is more for AMD so you probably can use the latest Nvidia drivers.
I used to mine with a mix of GTX 1070, R9 390 8GB, RX 580 8GB and still mine ETH with a RX 6600 XT as that is the only card still profitable for me amd get paid in XMR mining at moneroocean.stream, works well. My electricity rate is USD 0.36/0.37 p kWh in the Netherlands all the other cards use way to much power.
I haven't tried dual mining as at the moment as I don't see any benefit for myself.

I got it, will try so

my advice to u if u are newbie on this crypto world is that u mine even if your bill is higher than your profit because eth/etc/xmr wont be at these prices forever, probably we will see in the next btc halving new ath for eth to 10k easily so I recommend u to mine despite the costs, u will thank me later

if you can "resist" for 2 years paying more than u generate, it's the optimal. in my case I never sell my coins mined in bear times like this, prefer to hold and wait for a pump and analyze if it compensate to sell and buyback later lower or it's maybe too risky, all depends on momentum u know

I have been mining for the last 2 years so not a complete newbie anymore. Regretfully we live at the moment in a world where energy costs are stil rising and for a lot of ppl in Europe it allready has doubled or even trippled or more before the end of the year it will be ridiculous as lot of miners won't be able to afford or even sustain mining anymore.

You might have deep pockets to keep mining but small miners don't, like me.

As I said I am still mining with my AMD card.

GPU1: ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT (pcie 45), OpenCL 2.0, 8 GB VRAM, 32 CUs
GPU1: 48C 28% 63W
GPU1: cclock 870 MHz, cvddc 743 mV, mclock 1169 MHz, Tj 51C, Tmem 70C, 531 kH/J
GPUs power: 63.0 W; cost: 0.54 USD/day; 531 kH/J

It fluctuates between 531 and 540 kH/J and it still makes me abt. USD 0.30/32 p.day after elec costs.

yep I got what u say but as I told u IMO its an error thinking like that, unless u really can't afford 2 years mining and wait for the next cycle

for example, my energy costs as I live in europe too are the following: around 190€ for 13 cards every month, this is a ridiculous amount if u think in the long term. My hashrate gives me 0.3 eth every month, but I dont think on how much I'd receive if I sell it now because I have learnt in the hard way that this is not quite smart...

I will tell u a bit of my story: I started mining eth when it costed around 300 usd and was mining for a year more or less and then I did the same that u and most people do: when energy costs were higher than the cost of the eth mined, booom decided to shut down my rigs and sold all of them. Well, I had 18 rx 580 and now calculate how many eth I would have now if I wouldn't stopped my rigs in 2-3 whole years.... at the moment of eth ATH I would have had around 100k but...... I was stupid, I preferred not to pay 150 eur of my energy bill every month so.... the lesson for me has been very clear and will not commit the same error this time. Luckily I holded most of the eth mined and btc (via nicehash) too and waited for the halving, so it was not a totally disaster at least.

My advice is very clear: for u or someone who reads me, if u can afford the costs it will be worthwile almost always, except of course in extreme cases like 3rd world war, crack of dollar as international payment in world, crack of financial system as we know, biggest vulnerability in eth protocol ever seen or massive hack or something crazy like that. If u can't afford the costs other option is selling the rigs, wait for a dump soon or later and buy some eth/btc/avax/vet/atom/dot...

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 3060 (non ti model) + 3070 source of problems? on: May 21, 2021, 10:45:33 AM
Hello everybody,

A friend of mine has recently bought an evga 3060 model, and previously he had 3 zotac 3070 running without problems in nicehash.

Yesterday I tried to help him, first of all uninstalling drivers with ddu and downloading beta drivers for the 3060, however windows does not recognize this new card.

As I didn't read about anyone who had mixed cards like these in same rig, the problem could come from mixing this type of cards or more likely it could be the driver?

Even now nicehash does not recognize one of the 3070 so now I'm more confusing :S

Thanks in advance

aparte lo que no entiendo es lo que mencionas: "Based on this analysis, I decided to try and see the results, using the "high" setting, provided by NiceHash. This change was possible, it increased my daily earnings by almost 50%, compared to the previous week. "

¿podrías explicarme esto? has incrementado tus ganancias diarias un 50%?? cómo es eso posible?

I made this observation based on profitability in between two weeks:

In the first week I made an average of 0.00006880 BTC/24h, and this week 0.00009840 BTC/24h. Great result.
But was it just because of the configuration changes?

BERLIN UPDATE & BITCOIN VALUE
In the second week of this adventure, the Berlin update, on the Ethereum network, followed shortly. By coincidence or not, even with the "media" configuration, I felt a slight increase in average daily earnings after this update.

But as I said, this may also have been related to increasing the hash value, due to the bitcoin appreciation and the berlin update.

As I didn’t use a lower setting again, I don’t know if this is related or not. But most likely it was the hash value that increased. As it has been happening for the past few days.

In other words, it was 50% from one week to the next, but in general, it was not that increase, of course.

yo empecé con nicehash pero he pasado hace como 3 semanas a minar sólo eth con phoenix y creo que fue acertado viendo que eth está mucho menos volátil y ha subido mucho más en comparación

By the way, what pool have you been using?

Actually I'm using nanopool (but I am considering to move to ethermine).

Hello everybody,

Just would like to ask the experts here (as you can see for my earnings I'm not newbie in this world), why my nanopool daily earnings fluctuate so much even having always same hashrate

As you will see in attached pic, my hashrate is basically the same every day but inexplicably on first days I started receiving every almost 48 hr my 0,05 eth earnings but from 09/05 to 13/05 it changed and payments were done every day... how is it possible?

Thanks in advance and regards

I inform you that I added another part of my report. You can see it here:

compañero, tengo una consultilla que hacerte, he leído con interés tu post ya que pensaba agenciarme una rtx 3060 a secas y sumarla en mi rig con 3 rtx 3070

entiendo que en este caso para que "tire" a 47 mhs tendría que ponerla por hdmi la monitor (es mi pc principal este rig), que el riser esté conectado en un pci-16x y tener los conocidos drivers no?

Hi everybody

Any of you have noticed some change in hashrate/consumption with this new beta version?

Also, I would like to ask if someone is using dual mining eth+xvg and could tell me if it is profitable versus ethereum only. I have a rig with mixed 3070 and 3060ti's.

Thanks!!

>>  if someone is using dual mining eth+xvg

Not possible afaik. Readme says:

PhoenixMiner also supports **ETCHash** for mining ETC, **Ubqhash** for
mining UBQ, **ProgPOW** for mining BCI, and **dual mining**
Ethash/ETCHash/Ubqhash with **Blake2s**.

Ethash/ETCHash/Ubqhash with **Blake2s**.

afaik for mining xvg coin it uses the blake2s algo, so ethash + blake2s should be possible?

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Problematic card - need some help on: April 01, 2021, 09:35:13 PM
Keep in mind each card is different from another, even the same brand can have different performance

In my experience, 3070 doesn't need to reduce core clock, you can measure the power consumption, there's no difference, not even a single watt, so it's better to let running without touch the core clock
My 3070 Asus Dual Fan achieve 60.8Mhs, and it's good, 140w from the wall (120w on the software)

The led screen uses only a few watts, I never measure one, but you can be sure that's less than 5w for example (I think 2 or 3w maximum)

If you are using Hive OS for example, there's a feature to disable all leds of GPUs when it's possible

What's the hashrate of this 3070?

#2 the hashrate of my aorus is about 57 mhs...

answering #3

theorically lowering the core clock results in lower consumption and less gpu heat, right?

I have a wattmeter but they are connected to my other 2 rigs

#4 I use phoenix miner

#6 how to lower core clock more? I didn't see any option to reduce it more than -502 mhz, drivers are the last ones but the swap file do you consider it is strictly neccesary with only 2 cards connnected?
