I think one of the biggest pieces of advice I have received, seen on multiple threads, and all is to "do your own research." A lot of people on the internet just make exactly what the section entails, `speculation.` No one is for sure what the price of Bitcoin (or any Alt) will be tomorrow, next week, next month, nor next year(s). That being said, take `advice` with a grain of salt. Read up entirely on the coins before you invest and find something you enjoy, believe in, think will become a big deal.
Another select piece of advice that might help you, that I believe may be posted above is definitely don't put all your eggs in one basket. If you really believe, trust, whatever, in one coin -- put a good portion/percentage into that. Otherwise I would split it up.
Finally, invest only with money you're willing to lose. I believe you used the number `$3000` -- if you aren't comfortable with the possibility of losing it (I don't think you will if you invest in something `smart`) then I would also just advise not getting involved.

Now for some of my speculation, and I'm not advising you to invest if not interested (follow my first piece of advice), take a look at Ethereum, Stratis just dropped a bunch
(good time to invest?), Waves, SiaCoin. I think that's a good start for you, and best of luck!

I'm long on Waves, ETH, ZEC and ETC. In my opinion ETC will grow significantly this summer.
Based on what? What does ETC have/do that ETH isn't/won't?
