1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone registered with Altucher Crypto Trader? on: June 26, 2018, 04:33:46 PM
I made the mistake of paying. Totally not worth it. It's for the most absolutely clueless only. Basically it's little more than 'buy the dip in bitcoin and etherium'.. so they charge you for the most well known crypto catchphrase/meme on twitter.
Technically I suppose you could say they also put together an extremely small collection of very late entries in some of the highest market cap coins. Pfft.

They throw around talk of insider connections with almost no detail about fundamentals, analysis or strategy. In addition to lacking detail the posts are short, and frankly come across as lazy.

I wanted to like this and have paid for competing products also which I prefer.

I don't care about the marketing - just wanted good content.. didn't get it. Stay away from this waste of money.

I should add.. they have not given any early entries at all so far.. in fact I'd say they are extremely late entries. Those guys would probably tell you bitcoin is an early entry because it still has a long way to go and then pat themselves on the back for recommending you buy the dip in bitcoin.. which is 95% of their content. Honestly.. I despise this product. Oh.. and of course I do believe it's still early for bitcoin.. and buying the dip is sound advice! You just don't need to pay $2k for an annual subscription (which is what they charge) to listen to them say it when the whole of crypto twitter will tell you for free many times a day. Just buy the dip in bitcoin instead of giving these guys money.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altucher's Crypto Trader = Total Garbage on: June 19, 2018, 04:45:17 PM
Just wanted to say that if anyone was even thinking about paying for this 'service' save yourself some money and buy crypto with it instead.

It offers little more than the rather obvious advice to 'buy the dip' in Bitcoin and Etherium.. duh! That's basically a meme.. idk how they can look themselves in the mirror charging people for this.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO is the best way to invest? on: April 03, 2018, 04:55:42 PM
Depends on the team and the project. With a lesser known team and project that you may not be sure of, there's something to be said for letting it prove itself in the market.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still believe in ICO ? on: April 03, 2018, 04:54:14 PM
a lot of ICOs have been hitting the market and falling below ICO price due to massive dumping from earlier investors. I'm dialing back on ICOs for now
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Below $500 on: April 03, 2018, 04:51:39 PM
is the sky falling or is a good bargain rushing up to introduce itself?
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $ 91,000 by 2020? on: April 03, 2018, 04:48:04 PM
somewhere between that and the high end predictions of 1m which may sound wild but are possible. think about how many people have exchange accounts.. well over 13m on coinbase alone.. well there are only 21m BTC.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ICO Presale Pool? on: January 21, 2018, 06:54:39 PM
Does anyone know of any ICO presale pools accepting new participants? Those with good histories are preferred if possible but open minded.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherdelta my favourite on: December 01, 2017, 07:29:26 PM
The problem is that it's so slow.. the UI you can get used to... but the speed is just so terrible.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum at $1000 in Jan 2018? on: November 26, 2017, 10:44:20 PM
Certainly not impossible, but judging by recent performance the timeline seems aggressive.. it's been sideways for months despite a lot of good news and great partnerships... but it's crypto.. so definitely possible. Why the Jan timeline?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Palm Beach Confidential For November on: November 20, 2017, 11:19:20 PM
Why not? Nothing top secret in there. Anyway, the more we are for pumping the more they can dump. Tough to keep it secret, the more member they have the more leaker they could have...

Smart man

Well unless he didn't care that other subscribers may crowded out before they can get in... I mean of course it will get out.. but seems kinda weird to be posting real time updates to me if he's paying. He hasn't even got the info himself yet because the sites down

So many people logged onto our website to access the latest recommendation from Teeka Tiwari that our website crashed.

All the measures we took to manage the volume were completely overwhelmed.

We’re working as quickly as possible to stabilize the site. We’ll let you know as soon as we do.

In the meantime, please wait for our recommendation to publish. DO NOT try to buy any cryptocurrencies you believe may be related to today’s pick. Doing so could result in you losing your entire investment if you “guess” the wrong pick.

We appreciate your patience.

Regards,

Lindsey Hough
Editorial Director, Palm Beach Confidential

Did you actually pay for PMB? If so.. why are you posting the emails?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Cash beat BTC? on: November 18, 2017, 04:27:15 AM
BCash has a different use case and far far less development. It's got some rich people pushing it for sure.. with extremely obvious manipulation, and I think it will stay around in some form, but it is another alt coin and will remain inferior and less valuable than the real Bitcoin.

What you have to remember is that it does not offer censorship resistance.. with larger blocks and more centralized mining power.. it's easier to shut it down or manipulate it - and because of that - people won't want to use it as a store of wealth - because they don't want their wealth to be taken away by a bad actor. BCash by it's own admission isn't even trying to be a store of wealth.

BCash is trying to be cash.. but who trusts cash controlled by Chinese mining pools - which are under the control of the Chinese government? Better to have US fiat which let's face it is mostly digital anyway and has the backing the the US govt at least - better than Jihan and Ver! Also - cash needs to be stable to be used as a currency - so it's not as good a speculative investment if it were to succeed as cash (which I don't think it will) because it would stay around the same value. I think it's more likely to remain a speculative vehicle and be manipulated but remain with some value - may go up (certainly with pump and dumps to scam newbs and weak hands) but real Bitcoin is a much better long term investment with solid fundamentals.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver massacred by Johnny (from Blockstream) on: November 14, 2017, 06:21:39 PM
Johnny was amazing in this but Trace Mayer also managed to land a devastating blow in the single comment he made to Roger. Roger was essentially proposing a trust based system which prompted Trace to ask 'in that case why have a blockchain at all'.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: November 14, 2017, 03:51:38 AM
Not in love with ETH but it has so much corporate backing I'm bullish long term. It's taking a much needed rest after a massive run. Things will get better most likely Wink
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is an ICO??? on: November 14, 2017, 03:48:59 AM
ICO is a fundraising effort to launch a new project. They are on the riskiest edge of a volatile industry as you're often giving them money before they do any (or much) work. There is a chance you get high gains from such an investment - though a greatly increased chance you will lose money.

Might be best to steer clear until you have more experience in crypto before investing. Established projects are risky enough Wink Get a feel for making good calls first and gaining confidence that you can identify winners - an important skill if you are to fare well in the world of ICOs.

p.s. you might also hear the word Token Sale - which is the same idea..with some distinctions but by using that term the company is often trying to avoid being labeled as a security for legal reasons.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO price predictions? on: November 13, 2017, 03:56:52 AM
When the Chinese govt relaxes their ICO regulations.. NEO will shoot to the moon. Only a question of time.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2X cancellation - BCH pump - BTC drop - soon BCH = Bitcoin name replacement? on: November 13, 2017, 02:57:03 AM
Interesting to read someone else considering a govt attack.. I started a thread just now wondering that myself though I hadn't yet heard anyone else voicing such questions.

The fact that BCash is so centralized and has a lot of Chinese mining power means it can be easily controlled by the Chinese govt. If it were to make headway as the true bitcoin has the potential to do.. it could play a role in undermining the value of US fiat - instead giving power to the Chinese govt. If you are scared by the great firewall of China.. be scared of BTrash the centralized China Coin.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / BCash goal to undermine US Govt? on: November 13, 2017, 02:50:00 AM
I've starting wondering after seeing just how obviously manipulated the recent BCash pump appeared.. if BCash is an attempt to undermine US govt financial power. Lets face it.. the US dollar has a lot of pull. Bitcoin has the potential to reduce that. I'm ok with a truly decentralized currency becoming powerful.. but if the currency is centralized by Chinese mining cops.. then I'd say that is a million times worse than the US govt controlling US fiat. Does anyone else think this attack on the more decentralized Bitcoin might have political motivations?
