121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: are 2 USB drives really needed for tails? on: June 16, 2017, 03:05:52 PM
so excuse my newbness... what is the 2nd hard drive for in laymen terms? extra security? "being truly untraceable"?

Quote
when you write the tails iso to a disk it uses the entire disk. so you need a second one for persistent storage. persistent storage could also be on your hard drive. it's encrypted so placing on your HDD is not a problem.

still dont understand what this persistent storage means

right but somehow using two makes it untraceable? If i'm just browsing through darkwebmarkets and using secure wallets should installing it using 1 usb drive be enough?
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / are 2 USB drives really needed for tails? on: June 14, 2017, 06:31:23 PM
Seems like one should be enough for just a secure wallet and occassionally tor browsing/purchasing?
125  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to somehow regulate Bitcoin? on: June 14, 2017, 05:53:33 PM
Hopefully it would not be possible to take bitcoin under centralized control. If they regulate bitcoin, I quit instantly. Because this means bitcoins loses its meaning.

it's entirely plausible.. maybe have regulators over the blockchain or implement new tech. To automate/check for shady buyers/sellers

129  Economy / Lending / Re: Help me out! Got collateral if needed on: June 13, 2017, 05:22:51 PM
how much is his account worth them? I just made a thread saying NO COLLATERAL but need loan and almost got red flagged (warned/neg rep?)

It worth nothing, especially if you look at his post history, you can tell, and why do you care how much is account worth?

Ok then why do I see people seeing accounts and using them as collateral?
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your bitcoins? on: June 13, 2017, 03:50:02 PM
i've heard localbitcoins.com is good for bitcoins because when some of their coins got hacked a few years ago they insured their holders their money back
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: June 13, 2017, 03:20:55 PM
Those people are still WAY WAY on the margins, just like people who work jobs at home or completely online are STILL way way on the margins.

133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: June 13, 2017, 01:55:44 PM
it's a justifiable position. Bitcoin isn't going to take the place of fiat currency anytime soon like funding the mortgage to a house or buying a car.
134  Economy / Lending / need .01 in btc (no collateral) on: June 13, 2017, 01:42:35 PM

135  Economy / Economics / Re: volatility and transaction fees... on: June 12, 2017, 08:07:19 PM

136  Economy / Economics / Re: volatility and transaction fees... on: June 12, 2017, 11:06:19 AM
guys I didn't say it will kill it i'm just saying that's why I think this huge bubble is occuring
137  Economy / Economics / volatility and transaction fees... on: June 11, 2017, 03:14:36 AM
i think these things overtime will make bitcoin not as valuable.. plus the fact banks (while hated by most), have hundreds of years of reputation behind them and are easy to access... Just reading and learning about the ins and outs of bitcoin make my head hurt and I'm fairly saavy when it comes to most tech
