Sure hoping there isn't any kind of immediate time limit being applied to the coinswap as I'm having issue(s) with my old laptop's HDD.
Definitely going to be alot of attention focused on BTC in the upcoming months given the pre-havling price surge we're experiencing.

depending on how old the laptop is u can probably just pull the HDD and attach it to one of your PC's Sata ports.
If its really old you might need a converter to do that but those shouldn't be to expensive.
U will find out pretty quick if its recoverable or not I don't see why u would need more then a month for something like that u should know in an hour or less.
Good call.  Plan on giving this a shot just as soon as I get back to the states Wink

In the "real world" there's an old saying:
"If it sounds too good to be true it probably is."

In the "crypto world" there's a new saying:
"If it sounds too good to be true it's a mathematical certainty it isn't!"

Proceed with caution this one looks fishy as all get out!
84  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you trust BitCasino.io with High Stakes? on: June 20, 2016, 07:43:42 PM
Only if I could afford to do so assuming the worst happened.  Don't think I would want to trust any gambling site with a significant portion of my funds for any real length of time tbh.
85  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-06-19] Is It Worth Buying Bitcoin Cloud Mining Prior To The Halving? on: June 19, 2016, 09:10:56 PM
Looking at the available cloud mining contracts listed on CryptoCompare, it appears Bitcoin mining has a decent ROI right now. That is partially thanks to the higher Bitcoin price, which is offering miners increased rewards from their efforts. Cloud mining contracts, on the other hand, remain at virtually the same price.

http://themerkle.com/is-it-worth-buying-bitcoin-cloud-mining-prior-to-the-halving/
No way in Hades I would consider purchasing any sha hash atm considering 9 out of 10 (yes, i'm being generous here) cloud mining operations are completely bogus.  I have a sneaking suspicion that the less reputable cloud-mining operations (i.e. majority of them) are offering seeming 'amazing' deals in anticipation of people just like you coming along and dropping a few hard earned satoshi's in their I've-been-Hacked fund.

Wow...the pair on this guy or gal!! Will be interesting to see development teams responds to his claims.
87  Economy / Gambling / Re: FastBitRoulette.com Under New Ownership! FREE BTC TO TRY IT (See Thread) on: June 18, 2016, 12:38:51 AM
Definitely agree with earlier chaps insofar as having somebody you trust with coding background give it the once and twice over at least.

Site looks pretty decent for what it is.  My BTC addy on your site is 1PRziinN4Jj7iN6Qhfxis8aryEq9AcwNCF (if your still doing the offer)

BTC sent out to your wallet. Thanks!
Confirmed receipt of satoshi's.  Gave several spins and didn't win on a single one...luck of the draw I suppose.

Decent interface, only thing that was a bit difficult for me to get used to where the block like numbers representing your current wallet balance.  Other than that though seem's to be working.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know when to stop? on: June 17, 2016, 05:15:16 PM
1.) Set threshold % to quit (profit or loss)
2.) After the 1st hand that exceeds that threshold either way...quit!

*This % varies widely depending on how "lucky" i'm feeling! Smiley

90  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Keeps Making Inroads With Small Merchants - CryptoCoinsNews on: June 17, 2016, 05:08:15 PM
The ability to accept payment from customers worldwide for those that don't even have the option of a Visa or Mastercard setup with fullblown PCI compliance a pretty attractive offer for many of them.  I suspect we will see a growing number of 'mom-and-pop' type operations with any sort of net presence doing the same thing in the months to come.
91  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-06-17] Bitcoin Competitor Hacked on: June 17, 2016, 05:04:31 PM

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Speed up syncing time? on: June 15, 2016, 07:11:28 PM
The good news is once you've managed to successfully download the blockchain the first time you don't have to go through the process all over again when you want to add additional nodes.

1.) Go buy yourself a 64gb USB stick
2.) Copy the blockchain to it (should be under %appdata%\Bitcoin\ most likely if running a windows box.
3.) Place in same subdir on the new node you wanna spin-up and load bitcoin-qt client

*Should only have to download and sync from the moment of last recorded block in your 'copied' chain till the present.
94  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Does anyone here go to Bitcoin Meetups? on: June 15, 2016, 07:40:03 AM
I've been to one of the meetings held in Portland, Oregon.  They have a regular meeting every 3rd Tuesday of the month.  It was pretty cool, got an opportunity to get a look at one of the first Skyhook ATM demo units within a few weeks of their launching nationally.  Great way to meet locals also interested in bitcoin and occasionally you get to catch a glimpse of some pretty cool project.
95  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What are confirms so slow the last few days. on: June 15, 2016, 07:04:54 AM
I am experiencing this too despite using the recommended dynamic fees set my MyCelium. My transaction is still unconfirmed after two hours.

someone is flooding the network with spam transactions

http://www.bitcoinqueue.com/2d.html

blocks are full .. transaction malleability exploit attack.

Let's just hope that this attack will end soon.
Also experiencing pretty slow confirmation times here.  Actually had an Economy fee mycelium transaction process faster than a normal fee one.
96  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: I urgently need 0.5btc loan for my business on: June 15, 2016, 06:55:16 AM
Ok I am a retard I know.  How much did he pay back here?  The transaction says 0.6.

This sucks ass but none of this surprises me.
The transaction has a total of 0.6 BTC outgoing to various addresses.

The OPs repayment address is 19Q74AJ35Yz3Bo4wFxLALonuu3ogDD561f and only 0.2 BTC has been sent to it.

Yep. He got screwed hard like a babyface 18yo by big bubba in prison. He made the right call giving the loan though, its just one of them loans you must write off as a loss. Even the ones that look the best can turn into default.
Sucks about your loss man.  Kind of surprised you even received a partial payment from the shit-kringle to begin with.
97  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Various GPU Mining Cards and Parts on: June 15, 2016, 06:45:05 AM
Also interested in hearing pricing on both 7950's and 280x.

What manufacturer are those 7950's from and what quantity you talking?
98  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A very simple blockchain explorer. on: June 14, 2016, 12:49:45 AM
2 thumbs up man.  I dig the design and hella impressed with your page load times...this puppy snaps! Keep it up
99  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Simple dice - Need opinions! on: June 14, 2016, 12:43:22 AM
Seems to be working pretty well from what I could see.  Vanilla design, no pop.  Faucet seems to be working far better than my actual luck was.  Good luck drawing traffic to your site given the competition out there nowadays.
100  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best site to Gamble? on: June 12, 2016, 04:36:50 AM
As far as the few btc gambling sites I've explored thus far I would definitely have to go with betcoin.ag

There's a reason I chose their signature campaign Wink
