224  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Not] Good price at CEX.io on: January 12, 2014, 12:19:14 AM
All interesting, but missing a slight point. When the difficulty goes up, and new hardware comes out, many people stop mining...and the value of BTC increases.
If it doesn't, there really is no point in buying hardware anymore.
Imagine ordering a next gen miner, lets say 2THs. You probably won't get it before May. Going by the predicted revenue you would only earn about 1.5 BTC....and the hardware would cost you 6 BTC.

EDIT: Let me just add, I understand cloud hashing will never be good value compared with owning the equipment, but when you take into account delivery times, product failures, scammers, it can be a way to make some BTC.

Very well said. Too many haters out there. Its profitable I promise, I have been in only a day and have managed to pull out .50 coins. Tell me thats not a good profit for a days work even if I never go back and I will have to call you Mr. McMoneybags:)

EDIT+
Also another thing not taken into account is the merged mining that happens. I read a guys post a few days ago that started with .02 coins a few months ago and wrote a program to reinvest his mined coins into GHs and he had almost doubled his money in a month and tripled in 2..so thats my friends in the financial world is called a good investment.

I lost about 5-600 usd..I was logged in and trading and then I logged out and received an email about 20 mins later that said my withdraw was successful. I was receiving emails that needed permission to withdraw and for some reason I filed a support ticket and they said the transaction never took place..now I am banned and I cannot login to see if in fact it did. I am not getting any response now and I am banned. So I am not happy. I am just wanting to login and see if the coins are still there like customer service said. Thanks!

I think that dividend day would be a great day to address the shareholders about what is up. I am anxiously awaiting the news of this best mining company in the world.

Honestly there are WAY too many obsessed people that cannot see the obviuos and consistently argue about AM and other companies. I have never in my life seen so many people that are DAILY posting bullcrap about speculation and bringing the value of an overnight multimillion dollar company down by speculating and starting rumors. I am ashamed to even have potential investors that WOULD bring the value up look at this thread. STOP acting like bitches and making this companies stock go down and START acting like grown ass adults that could have the capability to run a company. NOT (1) one person posting lately would even have the balls to come out in public and spread the bullshit rumors or say the stuff they say about how bad this company is. I have an idea..........stop whining about how FC never says shit and look at the facts. To quote an actual good post~"There's a lot of complaining in this thread lately, which is understandable, considering large swings in stock prices can cause strong emotions.
I just wanted to put this whole thing in a bit more perspective: about 16 months ago, Bitfountain collected about $100k from investors to complete some chips. Today, they have a large warchest of savings, a steady income stream, and they are working in parallel on the 3rd generation of chips, liquid cooling +++, and the company is "valued" at approximately $100 million (not to mention that investors have already collectively received payouts of about XBT 240k, almost $200 million at today's prices). In light of this, my personal opinion is that we should at least keep the discourse respectful.
From my point of view, the company has plenty of promise and is busy fulfilling the promise. Competition has grown stronger, but anybody surprised by that is a pinhead - it was obvious from the start there would be an ASIC price-war/arms race. But there will be several winners, and AM is well-positioned to be one of them: well-funded, well-located, experienced and (dare I say?) visionary.
I'm not trying to talk the price up or anything (I don't care much about the flavor of the month), I just wanted to point out that, in my humble opinion, AM has delivered magnificently so far, and has staying power for the long term."~Quote from bitfair~

So please quit speculating and whining about this company EVERYDAY and start doing something positive to get the value up.

Is anyone compiling a list of questions for the board, as was previously done?

Mostly people just repeatedly ask when the next poll will happen.

When it comes down to it, people are either too lazy to compile a sane list of questions, realize their questions aren't good ones, or have already been answered.

If you guys get a reasonable list of such unanswered questions together, I'd be glad to present them to FC.

This has been the case since the first poll.

Going over the posts since the last official update on November 22, I've compiled the following list.

  • When can we expect an official public relations appointment and what channels will be used to announce information?
  • What is the size of the first Gen 3 deployment and when is it expected?
  • How will Gen 3 be divided between mining, franchising and hardware sales?
  • What process size does Gen 3 use?
  • What will happen after all cubes are sold?  Will there be anything coming between now and the first Gen 3 deployment?
  • Have dividends been paid out to shareholders for the cube sales yet?

Would anyone be so kind as to put these into some format that could be voted on?

Would anyone like to add anything?  Ask in the thread or send me a PM and I'll update the list.

ThickAsThieves, is there a particular date to use as a deadline to make things easier for yourself and Friedcat?  It would seem fair to allow Friedcat at least a week to prepare proper responses.

Your questions have been forwarded, no need to vote.
Also a few more questions to ask should be::
~What is the stance on making equipment that has greater power than previous models? We have only seen the cubes at a whopping 38GH are there any plans to sell equipment with any level of TH power?
~If we have seen proven time after time that communication helps the price of the shareholders stock high, then why are we losing faith with zero communication?
~Are there any plans at all at branching out into any merged mining/ altcoin mining?
~Who are you Friedcat? Do you ever plan on revealing your identity to the public?
~How many people are involved in Bitfountain?
I am not sure if any of these questions will be answered but the lack of answering will only make more doubt in the whole scheme of things.

237  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Visit of ASICMINER's Immersion Cooling Mining Facility on: November 26, 2013, 01:13:49 AM
So much money for cooling . . .  for such inefficient chips.

I would rather see the 200TH mine that Bitfury is running.  I would bet it is all air cooled, and uses 1/5th the power of ASICMINER.

What is stopping you from taking a flight to see the mine? You could have an awesome post like this so that you would be able to give out glasses of haterade on your thread. Thanks for stopping by but until you have some form of pictures as proof of this "200TH mine that is 1/5 more efficient." please refrain from spreading rumors on a thread that has absolutely zero to do with "bitfury" Thank you come again.  Roll Eyes

This is an extremely great write up and posts the truth about what they have done as an amazing company in a very short period of time. Thank you for putting this into perspective for anyone who may be new or maybe just lost the reality in their mind of this amazing feat.

Oh boy! This is VERY exciting news and some very good input from someone who has been to the baddest mining farm in the world! I expect this news to be very helpful with the share price, however it just made me want to hold this stock even more now!BTC

There are a ton of viable competitors who have actually overtaken ASICMINER and shipped better, faster hardware.
can you provide a list of this "ton of viable competitors" that are currently shipping at lower costs than AM?
+1
