1363  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-10-08] Federal Reserve governor says blockchain is revolutionary on: October 08, 2016, 10:21:11 AM
(Reuters) — The technology behind the controversial bitcoin electronic currency could lead to sweeping improvements in how financial transactions are carried out worldwide, Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard said on Friday.

But only if it can be safeguarded from hackers and terrorists, and not grind to a halt in a crisis.

Those assurances may still be years away, Brainard said, though the Fed is closely tracking the evolution of so-called blockchain systems, and sees it as “the most significant development in many years” in how financial assets trade hands.

“We recognize the potential of distributed ledger technology, or blockchain, to transform the way financial market participants transfer, store, and maintain ownership,” Brainard said at the Institute of International Finance annual meeting. At the same time, “we want to maintain public confidence.”

1364  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you accept bitcoin as your salary? on: October 08, 2016, 10:19:58 AM
I will never prefer to receive salary in bitcoin as the price is not stable and every time if I have to spend them then I need to convert it to fiat and that doesn't really make any sense.
Maybe it is because your area store does not accept bitcoin for payment. I have heard that many regions accept customers to use bitcoin for payment. If i ever lived there, i would like to receive all my salaries in bitcoin
agree it , if the local company supporting bitcoin, and give a choice to receive salary in bitcoin, i will accept it.
for me accept salary in bitcoin is something cool, but the chance to spend it very hard.
1365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: October 08, 2016, 07:04:49 AM
bitcoin is decentralization system, so no people can force each transaction must be illegal, each people have diffirent mental and intention, so if he is good man, he will use bitcoin as good man do it, the same situation will be performed by bad guy.
1366  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your plan to get rich with Bitcoin? on: October 08, 2016, 07:00:52 AM
I'm thinking that you can just get rich by saving up bitcoins and than if you are doing that it can make you right without any doubts.
Holding the bitcoins is one of the best things you can do right now without any doubts.

Yeah, if you believe in bitcoin just hold your coins and in time you will make profit from it. then think of something to make your money grow more like build a business. in that way, you can be rich with the help of btc.
why not we growing our bitcoin with trading system ?
i think getting 1-2% per month is so easy, so we can get arround 12%-24% interest per year, and i think this is a good method to growing our bitcoin, but it's not make you rich, except you invest $1M at bitcoin.
1367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Factom - crowdsales are bullshit on: October 08, 2016, 06:58:33 AM
i think this is must be at altcoin discussion not at this sub forum.
anyway for me ICO is good method for developer to make his wallet full with your bitcoin, some ICO created just for scaming everyone.
1368  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: September 19, 2016, 02:23:11 AM
I think I would invest in both,  btc and gold, but most of it in btc, because  the current situation of the  economy may bring positive  changes for btc in a near future.

bitcoin is more simple to holding it, we need only a few kb space for save at our smartphone/computer, or we need only 1 paper to save at paper wallet.
more safe more simple, and more easy to use.
1369  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-19] Bitcoin and Space: Genesis Mining Sends Bitcoin to Space on: September 19, 2016, 02:21:08 AM
Genesis Mining, a Bitcoin cloud mining provider, sent Bitcoin to space. As a part of its promotional campaign, the company conducted two successful Bitcoin transactions from the earth’s surface to somewhere 20 and 34 kilometres up in the sky, respectively.

Genesis Mining’s “To the Moon!” campaign saw the company sending a 3D model of Bitcoin and a Bitcoin paper wallet to space on a weather balloon. Genesis Mining has recorded the journey using a GoPro camera placed inside a Styrofoam box. The camera was focused on the Bitcoin 3D model with paper wallet address written on the other side.

The meteorological weather balloon with Bitcoin payload was launched from an unknown place in the United Kingdom. Once the weather balloon attained an altitude of 20 kilometers (Armstrong Limit), the ground team from Genesis Mining reportedly made the first transaction to the paper wallet from their mobile device. After almost 16 hours, the team sent another transaction to the paper wallet now at a maximum altitude of 34 kilometers. (view transactions on blockchain)

Marco Streng, in an interview with a tech magazine Hacked explained that the transaction to space symbolizes the phrase “to the moon!” once used in reference to the rising Bitcoin price. He was also quoted by the magazine saying,

“As cryptocurrencies grow in popularity it’s important to remember that they are the most secure form of currency out there, and by demonstrating how this transaction can be seen on the blockchain, we make it clear that no matter how far bitcoin goes, it’s always secure.”

1371  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: September 19, 2016, 02:04:55 AM
Yes, it's the price of bitcoin is really matter. If the price of bitcoin really low, i'm sure many people will stop using bitcoin again and when the price of bitcoin high, many people will keep using bitcoin, even new bitcoin user will come.

i think the low rate not make people stoping use bitcoin, last year (2015) bitcoin price very low stable under $300 and more investor come, buying under $400 and now he double his money.
1372  Economy / Speculation / Re: why should anyone invest in btc right now? on: September 19, 2016, 02:03:01 AM
There is no reason to think that bitcoin will fail any time soon. It is becoming more stable as time goes on. Plus the blockchain technology behind it is getting more positive publicity.

everything can happen, maybe in future a new altcoin can beat bitcoin, i dont know what is that's, but the technology will be higher than bitcoin.
but if we see some fact of bitcoin adoption, im sure bitcoin can survive Smiley
1373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: September 19, 2016, 02:00:49 AM
2FA will only make your account safe from third party hackers but it won't make you safe from the hands of the site operators, they can easily close your account and steal your coins anytime they want so i don't really trust online wallets

we can use sms 2fa for all our bitcoin account if that's option avaible, it's very asfe than other 2fa.
or we can use google authenticator im use it for all poloniex, bittrex, c-cex and other market account
1374  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 19, 2016, 01:58:59 AM
If your main focus is safety, I believe the btc wallet is a much better alternative. Can be better than banks also because of the low charges.

bitcoin is more safe "if" we can save our private key at safety place, and we know how bitcoin work.
the problem not all bitcoiner know about "prive key" , and he using 3rd wallet like xapo, coinbase block.io etc.
3rd wallet is like a bank in bitcoin world
1375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Grow my Bitcoins. on: September 19, 2016, 01:42:19 AM
Just do some campaigns and some trading plus you can also do some nice give-aways and maybe you will win and than you are earning big time.
I think that its easy to grow your bitcoins but you need patient and some spare time.

Signature campaign is one of a way to add some amount with bitcoin but that is not going to grow your bitcoins. As we are saying growing, it is a way of investment. And that is going to be good with trading for sure you are going to grow your bitcoins with if you are going to be a good trader and you just need to be able to have broad knowledge with it.

agree with your opinion, signature campaign is very helping me to earning bitcoin, and for growing our bitcoin i choose trading altcoin.
buying ethereum classic as much as possible then waiting price rising again
1376  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-09-19] HDDCryptor Ransomware Locks Hard-Drive Boot Records on: September 19, 2016, 01:19:28 AM
This one's named HDDCryptor (or Mamba), and has been around since January 2016, according to a Bleeping Computer forum topic where users reported their infections.

Technically, HDDCryptor was around before the overhyped Petya, and later Satana ransomware families, which got a lot more media attention, and behaved in the same way, by rewriting the MBR and preventing the PC from booting.
"New wave of HDDCryptor infections"

Based on available reports, it appears that a recent malware distribution campaign has been delivering a new version of HDDCryptor to users around the world.

1377  Economy / Speculation / Re: why should anyone invest in btc right now? on: September 18, 2016, 10:36:57 AM
In my opinion, bitcoin is really good for short term investment. Because the price can easily increase and decrease and when the times come, you can get much profit if you buy at the right time.

i think long term investment is better in bitcoin, in next block halving, i think bitcoin can reach 4digit, i think $1000 is the minimum stable price. so we can double our money in 4years it's easy and highest interest than bank.
1378  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: September 18, 2016, 10:30:28 AM
im mining ethereum classic, i get arround 5 etc perday, and im still hold it Smiley
because im sure in next day/week/month ethereum classic will rising again to price 0.006
if im right with my speculation, i can get ROI faster then sell now.
1379  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: September 18, 2016, 10:27:49 AM
if you trust bitcoin have value to buying something like smartphone, computer, laptop, house etc. it's called you are believe in bitcoin, believe bitcoin have value to buying something, then if you hold your bitcoin, you are believe bitcoin will have shine in future.
1380  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: September 18, 2016, 10:23:34 AM
If you want to save money,  my advice is keep your btcs  in your btc wallet, never get bitcoin to use into  gambling, hyip... and every time you get  bitcoin from sig campaign, faucet, or  any other ways, send it to your bitcoin wallet, that  way in the future you will see your accumulated  bitcoin and you will be surprised..

i think save our bitcoin is not part of save our money, it's called we invest our money at bitcoin.
the bitcoin price is unstable, we can't save our money at unstbale value, for secure saving we mnust save at bank.
